I have been sick a lot the last year and my dog has been my constant companion during this time. He lays in bed with me and wont get up for anything except to eat. My husband says he wont even go outside to potty with anyone else. Right now as I am on the computer, he is laying at my feet. He loves to lay on my lap. He will come over to the couch and put his head on my lap. He will look at me with these big sad eyes until I tell him he can get up on my lap. LOL Then up he jumps. As you can tell, my dog Wiley is part of the family. He is not just a dog. I love my dog. Do you have a pet that you feel like this about?

Fritz on his pillow - photo of my dog Fritz on his pillow
Hi, I have five dogs as you can see in my avatar and I love them all so much!! I don't know what I'd do without them. I know you are not supposed to be partial (just like with kids) but my velcro dog is Fritz. He is a mini-schnauzer and goes everywhere I go. I have problems with my health too and he's always with me even in the bathroom. He doesn't leave my side, that's why I call him my velcro dog. When I go to sleep, Fritz lays right up next to me on his own pillow.(who's spoiled??) In the morning, if my hubby gets up first, all the other dogs go out to do their job, but Fritz never leaves my side. He's my favorite little boy! Happy MyLotting, Char

I'm sorry to hear that you have been sick. dogs are very good companions for alot of people. We have had our dog for ten years and he is part of our family. We treat him like he is number one here alot of times. He sleeps in our bed every now and then also. He is spoiled rotten. We also have a hamster and he is the sweetest, spoiled rotten hamster I have ever seen.

well, dogs is always the man's best companion and they are really loyal without doubt... i used to have a dog as well and she is also like your wiley... she likes to be pat, sit on my lap and play with me... she is also part of our family and not only a dog... but now she is no more because my mother sell her to an animal lover when i move to another country to pursue my study... take care and have a nice day...

That's excately how we feel about our dog. They are very loyal. I remember on day here not so long ago I was sitting on the edge of my bed and I was hurting real bad and I was crying, next thing you know all 4 pounds of this loyal little maltese comes to my rescue and if you can believe it the dog started to wimper right along with me, as much as to say it's OK mom I love you. I so would not part with my little dog for all the money in the world.

heheh you two are cute=) doesn't your wife get jealous hahhaha ok i have 4 chows living with me but my first born chow hahahha ( he is my 1st chow chow in short ) His name is rhino... whenever i take a bath he waits for me outside the bathroom...waits until i get out and follows me in my room. he sleeps wherever i sleep. sometimes i stay long at our living room to watch tv.. and when its been too long already he will come to me and raise his paw to my lap i know what he wants he wants to go up in my room to sleep. Both room mine and of my parents are air conditioned... i sometimes fall asleep in my parents room and my mom just wakes me up when my dad comes up to sleep. he follows me too. considering the room is cold already, chows love cold weather. my other 4 chows... they choose where ever they want to sleep. My females they loves downstairs at living room. but my male sleeps with me. But only rhino follows where ever i choose to sleep. Sometimes i just transfer to my room considering he is deep asleep needless i know he wakes up my mom to open the door so he could transfer in my room.

I am sorry you're sick. That's never good to hear. I have a dog/child as well. I didn't know it was possible to love a pet sooooo much. He is so loyal. He is always where ever I am. Or where ever my boyfriend is. He sleep with us and takes our pillows and lays on them with his body under the blanket like he is one of us, which as far as we're concerned, he is. He is really protective over me. If he even thinks someone is going to hurt me he'll grab the bottom of their pants and make little noises. Although he would never hurt anyone unless I was in real danger. My boyfriend teases like he is hurting me and my dog gets to jumping and biting at my boyfriend. And funny enough, my boyfriend is the only one he will play rough with as well. He knows I don't like to so he just licks me and cuddles and his Daddy is his play toy. I think it is so funny that he sits outside my bathroom door when I am in there, even if I am taking an hour long shower. He will stay there the whole time. I also have a 2 year old nephew that loves my dog, but of course two year olds don't know how to play nice sometimes. He will grab my dogs tongue, take his toys away, pull his tail, etc. but my dog will not get mad at him at all. He is really protective of him as well. Anywho, I don't know what I would do without pets.

I have a houseful of critters that are like this. I have always had animals, I love all my babies too. Its funny I am the only one that is suppose to let my dog out. She will wait for me to walk her to the door and open it for her. The one cat has to be up on my moniter looking down at me, the dog is underneath. The other cat is lounging on the back of my chair, sometimes I have one on my lap and another on the printer. If I lived in the country and had a barn I would have all kinds of animals.

Fortunately we have not had to put the pets to the illness test this year. I have four cats. Each of them chooses his day to be clingy and hang out with me. Tiger especially likes the computer, with me. Creamery has to jump into the car when I get home and sit with me for a while. Princess is the guardian of the bathroom and Leo still sneaks around like we are going to send him away, and he looks at you, then puts up a paw then you tell him he can get in your lap. He likes to sleep with you holding him. Cats make wonderful bed warmers in the winter. Fur lined and all.

You have given an example of why I love animals. My dogs saved my life. I had an accident and was unconscious, lying on the floor for a few days and it was my dogs who alerted my neighbors that something was wrong.

your dog is really a cool companion to take care.I have no one like a dog but a parrot but obvious it does not take care of me instead i have to take care of it. I want to talk to it but his mood is too much to handle. If he wants to talk then he says and makes odd noises but if i say him to talk it never starts. You are lucky to get such companion which is much herd to find thesedays.

Sorry to hear that your not feeling well, I hope you get better soon. Dogs make good companions, they're there for you anytime, they're always by your side. I have a dog thats like that too, if I'm not feeling well, he knows, and he'll stay right by me, sitting by my feet, wherever I get up to go, he's right behind me. I love my dog too, he's my pet and a part of our family. have a good day

I really do believe that cats are not comparable to dogs. Dogs are just better made for a pet. I believe they understand more than dogs on how to give back to their owners and understand the responsibilities. While cats expect everything handed to them. -Sawyer

My dog is very sweet too. He is not quite that loyal if something was exciting outside he would be wanting to go out to bark at it but when he would come in he would be beside me. He is a cutie. I know that he likes me alot. I'm not so sure how he feels about hubby but he is my good little dog. Both my pets are very sweet. I love the cat too.

villageanne hi oh yes I once had a doglike thatand she was my pet and went everywhere we with me. We had some financial disasters and were homeless for two months so I had to give her to anotherfamily whose littlegirl wanted a dog. My dog was happy with her but I missed my dog so much, and since we then got into an apartment I have never had a dog again. I have missed that so much.

No matter where I am he will be right there. He's my little security cat and I love him so much. I couldn't ask for a better cat than him. He's 1yr. and 5 months old I got him when he was a friend from a friend from work. Do enjoy all the company you get from your dog and give him lots of love. Have fun and take care.

I have a cocker spaniel which is the same way. I have a 5yr old son who suffers from a few different medical conditions. When my son came home from the hospital neonatal ICU, my dog immediately took it upon herself to love and protect him, just as I have done. Dogs are very therapeutic... (both emotionally and physically) thats for sure.
