Do you use a mower or a weedwacker to cut your lawn?

I was paying someone $25 to mow my yard and then I went to Sears earlier this year and got one of those pull mowers for $75. I had my neighbor put it together for me and it is good to get exercise and I do not have to worry about gas or where to store it. I got a key lock and hooked it up to my fence with a rake for safe keeping. Do you do your own lawn, pay someone and want do you use?

We use a electric mower to mow the lawn at our house. And usually my dad or brother does it.

I do my own lawn. We have 2 and a half acres so we have a riding lawn mower and I like cutting with it. To me it's relaxing and I can get some sun too. We have a lot of weed wacking to do too. I usually do around the house with a little one we have, but my husband does the rest of it with a bigger weedwacker he has.

That is a good idea for the kid to do it! My son is also eleven but I really need the exercise. He rakes up the tree branches when I cut them down every month.

What exactly are you saying No to? The question was specifically asking if you used one or the other so no does not make sense to this particular discussion.

We do our own lawn, hubby and I share that duty. I like to do it sometimes cuz it is great exercise. We have a gas powered lawn mower. I remember when I was a single mother I did my own lawn too. It was hard but I managed. I didn't know that the pull mowers were back! Do you mean the kind like our grandfather's used? WOW. I would love to look into one of those. Yes, mowing is great exercise.

We have an acre lot, so I mow on a riding mower, for a few years now, I've planted or encouraged certain plants to grow at the base of trees, etc, so no one has to 'weed whack'.

lawnmower - lawnmower
I mow my own yard, have forever, but I am cheap and I don't like to pay anyone for a job I can do myself. I don't mind mowing the yard, sure beats raking the leaves! That job sucks, ya get them all raked up, and then either the wind blows or the kids want to jump in them. No one fights over mowing the yard.... no one wants the job!

I live in Arizona and, like my neighbors, have a lawn consisting of decorative gravel. When I lived in Milwaukee I owned a push mower and regular snow shovel and always mowed my own lawn and shoveled my own walk. But I haven't done either of these, or paid anyone to do them, since I moved to Arizona 20 years ago.

My husband has to take care of the lawn due to the fact that I have allergies. He uses the lawnmower to mow the larger areas and the weedwacker for the edges of the lawn. We own our own equipment. My nephew lives next door and we told him one time that he could use our mower to mow his lawn. Now he thinks he can use it all the time! We have to buy a lock for the shed to keep him out. If he wants to use it we don't mind, but ask first.

We have always mowed our own lawn. We have a huge lawn and it takes all day to mow it then a second day to do the trimming. We use a push lawn mower to mow and a weed eater or grass sheers to do the trim work. We have alot of trees and flowersin the back yard so it hard to mow around them. We also have many raised beds for our garden and they have to be trimmed up around. We have mulch between the raised beds and they has to be taken care of twice a year. The yard requires alot of care when you live in the country like we do. We keep our lawn mower in the garage as it would rust really bad if we lift it outside around here. We get alot of bad weather here.
