... what? I love popcorn as a snack, and usually just put butter and salt on it, but sometimes I crave something a little different. Sometimes I'll mix corn syrup and brown sugar and cook that a bit and pour that over, and if I have molasses I'll use that and make almost like a popcorn ball-type topping for it. Yum! If I have grated parmesan cheese, I'll occasionally sprinkle a little of that on instead of the salt and that's pretty good too. What sort of things do you like to put on your popcorn? I'm open for new ideas!

I used to be crazy about popcorn but that phase seems to have gone. I now crave bananas and I like to eat different kinds of bananas including the ones that you need to cook. One kind of banana that is usually boiled or fried is very sweet when ripe and I like a special kind of cooking where you bake it until the entire peel is burned to black. Open that unsightly black, coal-like thing and you find a sweet, nutritions, well-cooked treat waiting for you.

Plantains are a different kind altogether. I will see if I can find any references to this kind of banana which seems to be indigenous to the Philippines.

I'm boring, I just take it the way it comes. I'm not much of a popcorn eater, but my Naomi just loves the stuff!

Ooh, the molasses sounds delicious! When I make fresh popcorn, I only sprinkle it with salt - I've never tried anything adventurous. The molasses is a great idea, so I'll buy some and try your idea.

I don't think I try syrup by itself, but it's probably similar to the caramel/toffee type stuff I make with Karo or molasses.

usually when i make popcorn i like to put melted butter w/ salt and a little pepper on it. i also like to put reese's pieces and m&ms in some hot popcorn. my aunt's bf, however, like to put tabasco sauce on his popcorn. i really don't think i'd ever want to try that one, though.

Last Christmas we made "Gourmet" popcorn for part of our basket goodies we gave out to friends. We had a chili cheese flavor that was chili seosoning, and kraft cheddar powder. We also had italian which had parmesean cheese and italian seasoning. We had a hot variety with chipotle seasoning and parmesean cheese. Then just plain cheese with kraft cheddar powder. They were all really good.

I do not like kettlecorn and so I don't think I would like anything sweet on my popcorn. I like butter and salt. I do like cheese corn though and a movie theater near me has cheddar cheese in a can that you sprinkle on your popcorn. I love it. I will ususally aks them to put half the popcorn in and let me sprinkle some of the cheddar cheese before they fill the container up and add butter. Then I sprinkle more cheese on top. YUM!! (I used a packet of cheese from mac-n-cheese on my popcorn once. Yummy!! Then I tossed the macaroni noodles in with my other noodles.

My dad used to make us popcorn with a mixture of peanut butter and molasses on it when we were kids. I do not eat popcorn very often, but my kids do. My son's favorite is Lawry's Season Salt on it. He also does parmesan cheese and ranch powder too. I read on here once that a myLotter puts mustard on hers.

Ewww, mustard? I don't even think I could look at that, much less eat it. I like the molasses, but I don't know about the peanut butter either.

I have not had the peanut butter molasses stuff since I was a kid. I don't know that I even remember what it tastes like. Oh, and my son prefers his popcorn cooked on the stove in a pan with some oil too.

Sometimes, when I used to eat popcorn, I'd spray it with butter flavored cooking spray (no calories!) and sprinkle cinnamon and sugar on it. My ex used to toss it in real butter and add garlic and onion salt, or mix it with grated sharp cheddar cheese or asiago cheese.

Strawberry? Was it flavored with a powder or something, or did it have real strawberries? I've never heard of anything like that.

it's not flavored with powder nor does it have real strawberries bit inside. It is coated with strawberry syrup, just like those caramel popcorn. as im talking to you, im planning to make this strawberry popcorn at the back of my mind. :)

Dehydrated soup mixes! Use the cream kind, like cream of chicken. Those instant "cup of soup" packets from Lipton make really good popcorn. Also, I've used onion powder and garlic powder along with some salt. One other thing I do now and then - it's not a topping but it changes the flavor: Pop corn in bacon grease. It tastes better than it sounds. :)

I also love popcorn... and this is my favorite snack while watching a movie or just a tv series... but i am not crazy about adding some flavor... i prefer my popcorn plain... with only enough sprinkle of salt... although i haven't tried adding parmesan cheese... but i think i will try that next time...

I like the parmesan, but since it is a salty topping, be careful not to use too much. I wouldn't add more salt to it either.

I love WASABI popcorn though many abhor this.It is pretty addicting actually.Just sprinkle wasabi powder on freshly popped and salted corn, shake it, and you're ready to munch.I also love sour cream and cheddar popcorn.Barbecue powder is another great way to enjoy your kernels.

I don't have a kid and I seldom have popcorn. But sometimes I will buy some when I go to see a film with my wife. I can buy cream popcorn and chocolate popcorn from the vendor here. I would prefer cream popcorn because I don't like heavy taste. If I make it myself I will not any thing in it.
