Severe Storms Tonight

Now what were you up to GRANDPA BOB---were you doing a few rain dances? LOL. I don't mind thunder/lightening storms either. One great thing about my family ..as a kid they taught me never to be afraid of such storms and I never have been. Unfortunately I don't get to have the kind of view you have...all I see in front of me is a tall apartment building. My one cat Kissy though is terrified of storms..even the slightest pitter patter of rain and she'll hide. And she's mad at me since she can no longer hide under my bed like she used to now that I have my new captain's bed...so she takes to somehow snuggling under the bureau

Ah you must have gotten the storm that was due here today. I thought it was going to have a thunderstorm, so went looking for my skirt and after getting dressed, goes out the door and the sun is out. We have not had any hail, but this morning about two am I heard some really heavy rain, but now it is dry as a bone. Storms do not bother me, everything in the house is grounded, but I hate it when the power goes off. Then a lot of people suffer and the hospitals have to go on emergencies.

Oh it's that bad huh..Anyways, I do hope you will all be alright out there. I don't like it when there's a storm. I just feel sorry for the homeless people especially to the children who will be cold and wet on such a day..And I don't like walking in muddy grounds..Good you're just at home..Take care Always!

Well we had a hum dinger last night....at least that is what I have been told. I slept right through it and everyone today was wondering if anyone slept....I must have been very tired!

I like a good storm only When Carl is home !!!! LOL I become much braer when he is here LOL... But I do agree there are some awesome thunder and lightening storms. I just hate when the whole house shkes formit lOL

i never experienced such a scary storm like you described here in melbourne... we do have heavy rains and a little bit of hails every now and then... but not with the lightnings and thunderstorms... i'm glad that everything is alright with you grandpa bob despite of the storms... i don't think i will enjoy watching storms... too scary for me... take care and have a nice day...

I love a good lightening storm. The rumble of the thunder and the aof the lightening sends chills up my spine. We always lose electric power during a lightening storm but that makes it all the more awesome to watch. I hope that all went well during your storm. (((hugs)))

I'm one of those who is fasinated but frightful - I love watching thunder storms but at the same time am afraid of them, mainly because of all the damage I've seen lightening stricks do. We are supposed to get storms tonight and we do need the rain just hope not a lot of lightening and certainly don't want hail of any size - last time it was marble size and tore up a bunch of my garden and fruit trees.

I do! I would love to have one of those around here now! Oh well, I guess it can wait until AFTER the Labor Day weekend is completely over. I've been know to sit in the back of the house with the windows open and enjoying the storm!

Well, within the last half hour, the sky over Port of Spain turned purple with rain clouds and right now there's serious rain all over the mountains and downtown with a cold wind to help. I understand its rotten weather all around. In Europe and here in the Caribbean and up in the States. I love rain, though, so its doesn't bother me that much.

I love a good lightening storm! Specially when the sky becomes green at night.. It's really shocking but I enjoy it.. From where I am is not possible to see above the storm and look for Sprites.. but maybe one day I will see one.. It would be awesome..

i like it when the sky is all dark with the rain being blown into your house. with the addition of lighting and thunder it just makes me feel secure in my home.

Your not the only one getting rain today. Fay is still around, right now she is here in North Carolina raining here and there. But nothing really bad though. Now they have been watching another storm that is in the tropics right now that they think. Might turn out to be a hurricane. I hope not, right now all they can do is watch. That is one thing that I have to say about the east coast. We are on the side of the US and not at the bottom like Florida. They had Fay hang around and even after a week she is still lingering. Like you, I love a good lightening storm. Lots of thunder makes it better, even though my dog gets scared. Last night we had drizzle for a few hours and everything got a nice, slow soaking. Boy, did we need that! I also sleep better during storms, don't know why. I recently got AT&T fiber optic for my cable, phone and computer. It costs me $50 less than Dish TV and my bundling phone and computer with AT&T. Hooray! And no more outages due to weather--used to be, I'd watch tv when there was a tornado warning and that's when the tv would lose its signal, when I really needed it! No more of that now. And I got $250 worth of gift cards to spend anywhere I like.

You are having a storm then are you, I hate storms. I do not like lightening, it scares me so much I am always frightened of it striking the house. We do not get much in the way of lightening but the times we have it has been quite fierce.

I like to hear it raining and storming, thunder rolling in the distance, I don't much care for a lightening storm, they scare me..lol. whenever you see a big lightening strike somewhere, in a few seconds you'll always hear a big boom of thunder, sometimes its so loud that our windows rattle on the house, I don't like those kinds...lol. I wouldn't make a very good storm chaser would I...

Interesting question. I like to watch the lightening, too. It's fascinating. But a good storm in this area usually means lots of damage and our house seems to shake violently if the thunder is right around us. Bad construction I guess,lol. Anyhow, I know what you mean with the satellite being out. That's what I really don't like, because our Tornado sirens don't work properly and I hate trying to listen to the radio to see how bad it might be. But I would love to take some rain about now;)
