I think they suffer from others-should-know-we-are-rich syndrome. They have the same expression while using credit cards and while buying pop corns in the multiplex and while coming out of the international airport with lot of stickers on their baggage which they never remove.. Their whole life is centered around how to scorn others and in the process they forget to live!!

Yes I know what you mean because i have seen such behavior and attitude several times when i shop for groceries. I guess they feel proud to show that they can afford to buy as much as they want to buy or maybe their shopping cart is full of expensive things whgich are not ordinarily within an ordinary shopper's means to buy. Or maybe they just want to flaunt the fact that they are rich. But maybe its possible that they rarely go to the supermarket so when they do and they fill theuir shopping cart, they think its something to be proud of. he he/

Probably it has been a very successful shopping hwere they were able to get everything they had planned for. So they look mighty pleased with themselves. That is all. What is the pride element in this? However, there is one possibility-I am reminded of an incident when a doctor acquaintance of mine exhibited such pride on his face because his wife was buying a very very costly sarees at that moment in time.He was probably thrilled with himself at his capacity for being able to procure such expenive gifts to his loved one. But generally this is a rare occurrence.I only feel that the person is very happy and pleased and this may appear as great pride to some.

It could be that they are happy that they are done shopping or they are the coupon queens ready with a handful of coupons knowing they are going to get 200 bucks worth of food for 50 bucks.

I am not proud to reach the billing counter but very very happy because that means that I am on my way out and away from the crowds.

Well if it's me that's looking so proud it's because I have got all the shopping that I have wanted and it's all over, I hate shopping you see and just want to get it over and done with and one of the worst bits is dragging your trolley or basket around the superstore looking for everything on your list and when you have done it all, it's a great achievement knowing that you have got everything and the weekly shopping is over and that your cupboards etc will no longer be bare!

The fact is no one can do that and even if they do that no one cares.
