On Comcast.net, The Fan videos... Palin is at a rally "speaking" Ok, I'm wondering what the "H E double hockey sticks" she was thinking! She began: "I was reading the New York Times...roars, applauds, roars, applauds, roars, "WHAT? I didn't know that reading the NYT was such a big deal, I see drug dealers reading the NYT!! She continues: "Read about Barrack Obama"s friends in Chicago, turns out they are domestic terrorists" end quote. She fails to mention any names! Come on myLotters, help me, I am trying to be objective and fair within myself and give credit where credit is due...but really, all I've seen and heard of Palin herself does not move me or impress me at all. She seriously needs to go back to college and take Speech 101, Speech 102 and if there is a Speech 103, she would most likely need to take that course too!! Another tidbit...don't mean to offend anyone. I was having a very intelligent and calm conversation with a 40+ year old African American man on politics, the bail out, and yes, the presidency--He has his own business, contributes to the community, is well respected and generally speaks his mind--On Palin--"Check it out: Take off Sarah's glasses, take that pin out of her hair and let that beautiful hair fall...oh my God, she's absolutely beautiful, almost flawless in looks, she could be a "Playgirl"...Putting my opinion of her views aside, I can't imagine having a VP or P that I would want to make love to!!" I almost fell off my couch laughing!! ~G~

She was probably talking about Ayers. If a friend or someone on myLot tries to tell you Ayers is a terrorist friend of Obama's, point out a few things: 1. Ayers' 'bad things' were done when Obama was EIGHT. 2. If Ayers is such a "terrorist", why is he leading a peaceful life as a college professor now instead of being locked up? The cops are making NO EFFORT to capture him at all--do you think they'd ignore someone who was actually a terrorist?

I'm not so willing to forgive and forget when those "stupid things" include bombing the pentagon. In 2001 Ayers said the only thing he regrets is not doing more bombing. The guy is not repentant and hasn't changed in his radical views.

That's nice. Should I remind you again that Obama has no part in either his views or the things he did or didn't do when Obama was a pre-pubescent child? Even Palin just said that the New York Times is "hardly ever wrong", and they just published a long article that says that Obama and Ayers "do not appear to have been close." NY Times article: http://www.nytimes.com/2008/10/04/us/politics/04ayers.html?_r=1&hp&oref=slogin

I think your friend probably needs some glasses himself. But you got me at the comment about the New York Times. Maybe the crowd (like me) was amazed that she could remember the name of a newspaper that she read. When Katie Couric asked her twice to specifically name some of the magazines she reads, she couldn't seem to name a single one. Sarah is catching on!

McCain was friends with Keating who went to prison for the S&L theft but I actually would not have mentioned that if you hadn't chimed in here.

PS: The subject was Srah Palin NOT Obama. I think you are the one who is off course here.

So you can bash Palin but can't even begin to address to subject. I guess you think it's fine to work with people who bomb the pentagon. Would you be so relaxed about it if McCain was friends with a terrorist?

Palin and McCain (I listed her first as she seems to have the role of the b1tch with the lipstick) have nothing to run on and they know it. So they are really dragging out the fear to feed to the masses as a way to win the election. Why anyone with any common sense at all would listen to them is beyond me. It does work, to some degree. Many people repeat their mantra of fear as though it was all based on facts. Plenty here at myLot do it. I just see it as a desperate attempt to win an election by an unpopular old man and his b1tch pitbull. If they have nothing better than that, they have nothing at all. It will really be a sad day if fear and bigotry win in this election.

I think that the part about reading the New York Times was supposed to be a joke - she took a lot of flack when she didn't tell Katie Couric exactly what publications she read. Her approach was actually good - she didn't name any names and give an impression as to whether or not the article was accurate - she rather led the public to go research her statement more - to go read the article and to make their own decision as to the truthfulness of it. Regarding the other part of your post - I would seriously question the judgment of someone who is speaking of one our candidates in that way - the looks of a candidate, whether good or bad, should not be the reason to vote or note vote for that person.

i'm the last person to support palin but i think she was trying to make a point. everyone is so quick to judge her on what the media spins yet they pay no attention to things the media says about obama. again i do NOT like palin but i think she got the point across.

It's attack time and scare time, especially when you really have nothing of substance to say. You don't see Barak Obama talking about McCain's close association with G. Gordon Liddy...but, then again, he has issues to talk about.

It amazes me the depths that the voter or viewer has gotten to. There is trouble brewing when Palin and her running mate are not only slamming the other side with lies, but depending on her, looks?? whatever to get them past. It scares me actually to think that people could be that shallow. Perhaps they are racist, I do not know for sure and would hat to assume. She definitely has nothing going for her, events are packed with same belief folks so there are not going to be any against her. It is troubling, I just hope this too passes and somewhere out there folks begin to really question what is before them.
