I thought this was a really interesting article. I really don't know what to say about it! It's crazy! I just found it pretty funny, actually. I can't believe a guy would actually get this idea out there. What was he going to do, sue God? But it is an interesting question. What do you think of it? http://santaclausfund.ca/News/World/article/517979

I remember when the story first broke and thought at the time it was never going to fly, and now, the judge says so too I have no idea what this guy has been smoking, or drinking, but his mind is not on the same planet as the rest of us

Ok! Now I've seen everything. Lawsuit against God? What exactly is he trying to get out of this lawsuit? But regardless, I wonder if God can start a counter suit claiming, "I made a mistake when I made the world. I should be able to destroy everything & start over. I made everything in this world so technically, everything is mine. I should be able to control everything. By the way, he owes me a rent for all the years I allowed him to live in the world I created. That should even out any amount of money he's looking for, if he is looking for any."

Sk66rc, I love your answer!! I would love to know what God thinks of someone like this guy who uses his name to gain some fame, especially since he ducks out during prayer time and criticizes the Christians.

Well, I think it has something to do with how he wants everyone to see it his way, rich or poor! I don't think any of it makes any sense, but it is an interesting idea.

This man is obviously depressed. He can see no good in the world, only the evil that happens. He is blaming God for his misery and should be on medication to get his depression under control. He also should not hold a seat in the legislature. If he really believes God did all the bad stuff in the world why isn't he afraid God would "zap" him for bringing the suit. His logic is bad.

Wow! That's a really good point.. people who say they think God is so evil, why aren't they then afraid of his revenge when they speak against him.. I imagine they might say they don't really believe he exists.. so then again, why the anger? And why waste the court's time? I guess ultimately I would believe that they do believe he exists and have tried and judged him without a 'trial' or without even asking him the questions they have...

That was very interesting.. and a Senator no less.. I thought the judge was clever, but then again, so was the Senator's answer! Personally however, I think God should sue us for the bad rap he gets and how we all are so gullible as to fall for the masquerade.. (Because if there is deity, said deity can only be perfect, or it too would not "endure" but like all things fall apart.. therefore anything suggesting less than utter perfection and goodness on the part of the great spirit, spark and breath of Life, is a scam of one sort or another.)

Although I understand the reasoning behind his lawsuit, this was simply his way of serving his own personal agenda and gaining publicity for it. I think this is a waste of the court's and taxpayer's time and money. There are other/better ways to disseminate your personal point of view. Although it does seem he got the publicity he wanted so he did what he set out to do. Few of us get that chance! I'll give him credit for that!

"Where were you when I created the earth?" I remember this sentence told to Job by God while reading the article. People usually complain to God but it is God's prerogative to answer. It is also His prerogative to reveal unknown things to us. How can that senator sue God if the law is only applicable to humans. God is the author of the law and is not under it.

What a waste of the court's time! That guy should be fined for filing a frivolous lawsuit. It's a good thing there are term limits, I sure wouldn't want to have that man in public office any longer.

This guy is a joke! I told someone tonight that he needed to be recalled or voted out. But I found out from this article that he's been in the legislature 38 years, and he can't run next year. Thank goodness. But he hasn't decided whether to appeal his case or not. The following tells lots about this guy and his reason for filing the case: "Chambers, who has served a record 38 years in the Nebraska Legislature, is not returning next year because of term limits. He skips morning prayers during the legislative session and often criticizes Christians."

A ridiculous old scambag! I might as well shut my mouth because I have nothing good to say with this guy. He probably has a rat in his head and it's eating his brain. I would'nt even give a fuzz over him. "Do not take the name of the Lord, your God in vain." Most of us has wronged God because we couldn't help it human as we are and so we ask for forgiveness to the Father but doing it intentionally? Has he gone mad? On judgement day, he too will have his own lawsuit and God being the judge.

To me...I think this person was looking for some attention and found a crazy way to do it. I too like the fact that they didn't discredit the existence of God, they just couldn't deliver papers to Him because they did not have a "physical" address on Him. I personally think it's silly.
