Have you ever had a blister?

I'm not exactly sure how I got one on my hand. All I know is that I bumped it the other day and a water blister appeared a few days later. Ironically, I accidentally bumped my hand again yesterday and the darn thing popped. Gross! The top of my hand still feels a little sensitive from this, but I'm glad to be rid of this ugly thing. So, have you ever had a blister of any kind? What, if anything, did you do to get rid of it?

It wasn't intentional, it was accidental. Though I don't know how socks or shoes would irritate it seeing that it was on my hand. LOL (This was stated in my initial discussion. )

oh my god you did that? ouch you should not have done that cause it will only cause you more irritation when you wear a sock or shoes

Hi sacmom... I've gotten several blisters in my lifetime. Most of them from my feet. See, I wear shoes with heels and I sometimes run in them because I have to be training at a certain place at a certain time and things are not going my way. (Think a woman running in her stilettos. lol.) So, yes, I've gotten quite a few on my feet. I really did not do anything. I just let them be.

OUCH! I don't understand how a woman can run in high heels. I don't wear heels, but when I did I worried that if I had to run that I would twist my ankle! I would have let the blister be so it could heal on it's own, but I'm glad it is gone, because that thing was ugh-lee! LOL

Blisters are definitely unsightly... Whenever I get one, the spot turns black for a while. Hmp. It's a good thing yours is gone already.

I hate getting blisters. Sometimes I go ahead and pop it because it takes away some of the pain faster than if I let it pop naturally. When it is a water blister it doesn't bother me as much. When blood comes out instead, I'm not so blaise about it. I got so many blisters once when I walked 4 miles to an event and 4 miles back from the event. Because of bomb scares around that time, no vehicles of any kind were allowed close to the event, even golf carts that workers might have used to get place to place. I didn't know about how far I would have to walk, so I didn't wear socks with my tennis shoes that night. Big mistake! And the tennis shoes weren't the kind that a person needs for that kind of trekking.

I'm frenz with blister.. lol =D From my hands, to my palms to my legs, they can appear anywhere anytime =D lol Those on my palms are caused by my weights, and because i dun wear gloves, thus blisters are always forming there till now, the skin is totally dry and hard, seasoned to the blister.. lol =D As for arms, it's caused by burns due to my time working as a baker.. hehe ^_^ As for legs, it's due to me wearing of shoes for too long, especially in the rainy seasons ^_^ BUt most of the time, i will not touch the blisters, i will let them self heal ^_^ So that it won't be so painful if it burst.. lol

I'd rather get calluses on the palms of my hands from working out with weights than get icky water blisters that tend to burst like this one did. Yuck.

Since I clean houses for a living I am always hurting my hands and not knowing it right away. I sometimes see the blood in my water and so then I know to look at my hands to see I have cut myself again. Once I cut myself so bad I had to have stitches. I am a bit of a clutz so I am continuously hurting myself. If not cutting a finger I am knocking myself around into door ways and walls. I am always hurrying a little so that is why I am careless. I hope your hand feels better. I find that when I cut my hands they heal very fast. But getting a blister wouldn't heal so fast.

I was forever getting blisters on my feet, because I did so much walking when I was on holiday, I just wish you could unscrew your feet and leave them in soak over night! The blisters were on my heels where the trainer was rubbing the back of my feet. I always pop them but I do it in water, like when I have a bath so once the blister has popped it can be soaking in water to ease the sensitivity and then I let the air get to it, but I'd much rather pop them purposely than accidentially, ewww gross indeed!

I don't want to pop them at all! Though next time I get one I think I'll try it your way. I want to make it as pain-free as possible.

I had a blister some years ago and I can still remember how painful it was. At that time I had some itchiness on my fingers due to sensitivity towards dishwasher liquid soap. I went to the pharmacy and the pharmacist advised me to buy a cream which I forgot the name. It is in a blue tube, and the tube looks like the tube of a toothpaste. I put it to my whole hands and the next day blisters grew all over my fingers. I couldn't do any work and I had to eat using fork and spoon for two weeks. It was a nightmare to me. Luckily I went to the hospital and the doctor gave me a white cream and I applied it to the fingers. Within days I was cured and until now I still remember not to believe people advice easily.

Haven't had those in quite some time, but they really are a pain. I used to have them on my feet, specially with new shoes and they could be quite painful when I walked. Although ideally one should not break a blister, there are situations when it is he best solution, specially if it looks like it will break by itself. When we do it, we know we can clean and sterilize it as opposed to have it happen when we're in a situation where we won't be able to do anything about it. If it's in a position where it is not hurting and it's small enough it is a good idea to leave it alone. Once it's open though it needs to be kept clean and as dry as possible.

They sure are arkaf! I certainly didn't break mine on purpose. In fact, I wanted to leave the the darn thing alone. LOL But I cleaned it up the best I could and have been letting it air out while at home. I can't wait until it is completely healed up and I don't have to worry about it anymore.

Have you tried wearing a band-aid on this area when wearing new shoes so that this doesn't happen? When I bought some new sandals last year the strap that went around my ankle would feel like it was cutting into my skin. I told my husband about it and he told me about the band aid idea that he got from his sister several years ago. It worked like a charm!

Yes, blisters, many times. I work on a farm, so blisters end up turning into calouses on my hands. At least on all the pressure points at the end of each finger where they meet my hand. But sometimes I get a blister in the middle of my palm from using the Foot Trimmers. The quick way to get rid of it and dry it up, is to use a needle. You slide the needle (disinfected, of course) under the skin, level with your skin, just before where the blister starts. You penetrate underneath the blister, then pull the needle out. You can then gently squeeze out all the liquid and the blister will dry up very quickly speeding the healing process. Of course, when the skin falls off it is sensitive for a day, so you can wear a band-aid with antibacterial creme which will also speed the healing process dramatically.

I didn't need to do all that as the liquid all came out when I accidentally popped it. But I'll try to remember this the next time I get one.

hey hey i know this will be random but now the song blister in the sky will be in my head all day haha. and yes i have had many and mostly on my feet from shoes being tight ,or too much summer walking . once i wore and tried to break in new shoes and they were so tight .was not a good time to wear them because i was on my way to a game and had to do about one mile of walking .when i got there my feet were so torn up and in so much pain. made my finace get a band aide thinking it would help ,but didnt .then he went to look for slippers ,or flip flops so my feet wouldnt be stuffed in it . anyway , i bought thick socks and sat with no shoes for the game .i knew i couldnt mak ethe car walk back so i made him switch me shoes . me in huge clown shoes and him stuffed in my tick heel tennie shoes .oh my gosh what a sight and day and night . anyway,i think when they are popped puss comes out and then they heal.

yes, I have had a blisters before. I can't even begin to count how many times. As I don't have enough fingers to keep count. I tend to get them along on the back of my heels. I tend to put a band aid over the are and do what I have to do. Once the blister pops on its own. I add ointment to keep the infection away.

A blister usually happens as a result of a burn on the skin, either through dry heat or steam..they're an occupational hazard when working in a Kitchen! It's not recommended that you burst a blister,as there's a risk of infection if it's not done under sterile conditions..keep it clean, maybe use a dry sterile dressing if you tend to get it hit and feel the discomfort..if you didn't need medical treatment when it happened,a few days will see it clear up.

Yes, I have had many blisters in my lifetime..They say not to pop them, but that is kind of hard, so when mine do pop, I clean it really well, put on some antibiotic cream and keep it covered..Then after a couple of days, I leave it uncovered so air gets to it, but careful that it doesn't get dirty, and once it has it's own natural covering, then it just goes away..

I've had blisters on my hands and feet. My foot blisters were from shoes that I obviously should not have been wearing. Most commonly, I would get the blisters on my heels. But I have a pair of black strappy heels that caused me grief on my big toes, because of the way the one cross strap sits. My hand blisters have been from playing double bass and electric bass in junior high and high school. They were worst in September, after not playing the instruments much over the summer, so that the callous wore away from my fingertips. The other hand blisters I've had were from burns. Those hurt worse than any other blister. Come to think of it, I've had lots of blisters on my shoulders as well, from too much sun. Those don't hurt at all, but they do get itchy once they pop and dry out, so I use lots of aloe gel and various moisturizing lotions to help it heal.

I am always getting blisters when i wear a new pair of shoes. One time i was down my friends house and i had a blister so i asked for a plaster put on it and by the time i got home, which was only round the corner, i had come out in a terrible itchy rash. So i went to the doctors a few days later as it had got worst and i was told that i had had a serve allergic reaction to the plaster. I ended up with a heavy bandaged foot for a couple of weeks and on a course of antibiotics. So i can no longer use plasters so when i get a blister i just have to suffer until it goes.

I've gotten them before from playing tennis. I used to play pretty competitively and I would develop blisters on the bottom of my palm and on the top of my palm near the top of my palm near my little finger. What I usually did was put ointment on it and wrapped it. It would usually pop within a couple days. When it does pop it's important to apply some type of antiseptic like neosporin and then wrap it again. It sucks for a couple days after it pops cause it burns when it gets wet.
