In some countries, there is a tradition of choosing leaders who are quite advanced in years. Do you think that older people make better leaders? Explain your opinion.

this seems to be a very tricky situation because if u see the experience of people of advanced ages it is certainly more that that of their younger counterparts but then they also so lack that dynamic force that is necessary more prevalent in their younger counterparts but i still think younger people make better leaders

There can be advantages and disadvantages of choosing older leaders. Though the old have more experience and well respected for their wisdom but due to their age they might not be physically and mentally fit as they might have old age illness like diabetes, high blood which might prevent them from discharging their duties effectively.

older people can be better leaders, because they have more experience and knowledge.. but experience is not always the case, because some older people tend to be conservative, and not open for change.. this is where the young ones, come into place... it does'nt matter whether a person is young or not for him / her to become a good leader, he/she should should do what is right, and moral...

Old people are associated with experience, wisdom and confident. But sadly, that might not be the case with all senior citizens. They certainly have the experience but learning and growing from those - only few people do. Today's youth are smart and have a smart approach towards life. With less experience they are fast learners and some can really match upto the wisdom of the old. So it depends on the wisdom of the individual and not on the years we live. Thanks.

I think it all depends on what they are leading and their knowledge of it. they have to be willing to be a good leader also.

Hello,Lucy! Not necessarily an old man can be a good leader because of his long experience or good education. He should have, besides these traits, the leadership attitude in him else he can not control his own people and fails in doing the right things.Rather today's young people can be true leaders because they are qualified and smart than the older generation.I encourage the young people to take the leadership in every field.thanx.

hi lucy! i don't think older people will become better leaders. i have friends/ classmates who are older than my age and they rarely become our leaders during some activities because as they explain, they don't have that power because many of us have different views from them. they can't handle well also. many people are deserving to be a leader but the problem is that they don't know hoiw to impose a good leadership.

Not necessarily so. The positive side in choosing older people as leaders include: 1) They have the experience, therefore theoretically can make better decisions 2) Their knowledge is greater. thus they can formulate better ideas 3) Their circle of friends is bigger, thus they can get better support and it would be easier to carry out certain tasks The negative side in choosing older people as leaders include 1) Their experiences may be limited to certain areas only 2) Their memories may be fading. 3) They can lie better 4) They are not open to new ideas 5) They have a big circle of acquaintances but give preferences only to a small circle of friends The bottom line in my opinion to choose someone who is not too old, nor too young

I understand that in some countries there is a tradition. However I believe that sometimes it does not really matter the age of the person. It does depend on the credibility and experience. Also it could have a lot to do with the person's popularity among the public. In some cases an older person might have more wisdom but in this world today there are some young people who who rather choose a young minded person as a leader. It could go either way.

I think its depens on personswise ,means leader ship doesn't depend on age its depends on quality , because leader ship itself a quality afterall!, for best example Mahendra Sing Dhoni , i think this example is enough to understand the quality of leader ship , when it comes to age then I think its expected to the older people can have better leaders because of his experience but its not mandatroy.
