Peru offers bald dog of Incas to Obamas. Peruvians crazy about their national dog, a bald and often toothless breed popular among Incan kings, offered Monday to send a hypoallergenic puppy to the Obama family. Since Obamas daughter Malia is allergic to most other breeds this might fit the bill. Toothless though? How would you feed a toothless dog?

Bald? I wouldn't imagine that would be comfy to hold a bald dog. The soft fur is the best part of the dog. Now teeth there wouldn't be worries of a dog bite and they would only be able to eat soft canned dog food. I am sure they would be able to find a short haired dog that stays small that would be perfect for the kids and the office. Maybe a Smooth coat Jack Russel terrier or something similiar. The Jack Russell Terrier can cohabit with well behaved children but both dog and child need to be properly introduced and educated on how to behave towards one another. JRTs are also extremely loyal towards their owners, and highly territorial. If a Jack Russell decides that something belongs to it even the most persuasive owner is unlikely to convince them otherwise. Despite some of these negative traits JRTs are exceptionally loving, intelligent dogs who have the ability to entertain their owners for hours with their comical antics

I think accepting the offer would be a nice gesture because it would be politically a nod of appreciation to the people of Peru. It seems nice to me to be polite and nice to people in such a way.

I think that is very nice of them to make that offer to them. I think they would have to feed the toothless dog from a baby bottle, liquids or puree'd food.

That is one interesting breed of dog. I think it was a very nice gesture for them to offer up one of those dogs and it would be prefect for the allergic child Malia. I love the ears on "ears".

i was just about to ask that!! i have never heard of a toothless dog.. i wonder if its naturally toothless or if they pull the poor babies teeth?? i dont think i would like to have to care and constantly search for food that a toothless dog would be able to eat unless it has unusual hard gums to where is doesnt matter or something.. but hairless even though it would be ugly in my opinion would be great for her allergies..

That is a very nice gesture I think, but it sounds like an ugly dog. Actually I shouldn't say that without seeing it. I wonder what they are going to say, if they are going to accept it. I think a dog should be chosen by the family. I also think that the dog should choose the family as well. When I went to the pound just to look at the dogs, and my dog came up to me and curled up on my lap, she had chosen me, she had my heart at that very moment, and that is how is should be when getting a dog. You need to be there and pick it out yourself, and the right one will crawl right in to your heart.
