gotten a cut and not realized until you saw the blood? That happened to me today. I was grocery shopping and loading my groceries into the car. I never felt a thing, but I looked down and both hands were covered in blood. I freaked out at first, because I had no idea how long I'd been bleeding, or even if it was me that was bleeding! It was me luckily, but I had no idea how bad I'd cut myself, and didn't feel a thing. I wiped my hands off with baby wipes and noticed I'd scraped the skin off part of my index finger on my right hand. It wasn't real bad, just a tiny little spot, but it bleed like crazy, and took a long time to stop bleeding. Now I have a band aid on that finger, but it's rather difficult to type. It still doesn't hurt at all. How odd! Has this ever happened to you?

That has happened to me several times in the past. I know I have hit my hand on something, but it does not really hurt. I look down and there is blood all over. I am glad it was not a big cut you had after you got all the blood cleaned up.

When I was 18 and first moving out of my parents house I cut myself - badly - and didn't feel it. I was packing and was trying to force a picture frame into a box that it didn't fit in (very silly thing to do). I was pushing on the glass with my palms and the glass broke. I jumped back a little and thought wow, I'm lucky I didn't cut myself. I went on putting things in boxes and looked down to see a gaping hole in my wrist, wide enough that I could see the 'inner workings' of my wrist. It was 10 pm and my mother was in bed, I had to wake her up to take my to the hospital. It took quite a few stitched and was the only time I ever had to have them. It was such a dumb thing to do and I did get lucky, it could have been much worse.

I used to have this happen a lot. I used to do a lot of sprinkler repairs and would get all cut up on my hands and would not even know it until someone told me that I was bleeding. And this was way before I had problems with Neuropathy.

I got one of those too... Didn't realize it until I saw the ooze of blood from my arm. After that, it hurt like hell... Maybe it was good better off not knowing I was hurt... hehehe

It happened once on me when I was 8 years old. I was running around at my uncle's book shop, and all of sudden my leg was cut by the broken glass. I didn't feel any pain and after a while my mom saw blood was flowing out, then I realized that I was injured.

i have done that too. all of a sudden you look at your hand and you see blood. sometimes it has been a lot and you are not sure what it is from. it would seem that you hit a blood vessel that was close to your skin to make it bleed so much.

More time than I can count. I have a tip that your discussion reminded me of. If you get blood on the clothes from a cut, spit on it. Something about the enzymes or whatever that work to dissolve the blood. Has to be your blood though, won't work on anyone else blood. Of course if you are bleeding profusely, it won't do a lot of good.

That just happened to me a few minutes ago. I was preparing to walk my sons puppy, who needs his nails clipped. So he jumped up on my arm. I told him to sit, and he did. I hooked up the leash and went out the door. About half way across the lawn I saw the blood running down my arm onto the back of my hand... I hate it when that happens.

Oddly enough, yes. I had a tiny little cut on my elbow one time that bled like crazy. I didn't even know it until someone stoppped me and asked if I was ok. I felt like an idiot because I had no idea what the heck they were talking about.

I have once. Apparently I stepped on something when I was barefoot and didn't even feel it. I saw something red on the kitchen floor, and I thought that it was my pretty red sweater shedding, so I bent down to pick the threads up and throw them away, and then my hands were all sticky. I realized that it was blood and when I raised my foot I realized that my toe was COVERED in blood. I still don't know how I didn't feel anything. And I would have probably NEVER known if I hadn't just glanced down at the floor and seen red. Of course, my toe STARTED hurting once I realized that I had cut it somehow by stepping on something. It was pretty weird.

I get scratches like that all the time, mostly from my pets (not that they do it on purpose, they just need their nails clipped more often than I do it). Actually, it's usually not the blood that I notice first, but I'll brush the spot with my hand or something and realize it hurts.
