No why would he bother we are much better at wiping ourselves out we do not need any help on that front.

Oh dear my post was an ironic comment and meant to be funny but everyone takes me so seriously. I always said I could never tell a joke. From what I hear some of the fires were started by people. We have the same problem here, some person plays with matches and the whole area goes up in smoke.

Well said. Maybe they changed God's on us when no one was looking or maybe the humans have just lost their way and do not know how to get back.

Being a christian, I leave the decisions over what is right and wrong, good or not, up to God. And I do not judge or prejudge him, anymore than I do people. Hopefully most christians recognize that it's God himself who gave free will, whether homosexuality was directly created by God, or is a genetic change, doesn't matter. The rule for Christians is "love". Of course there's the obnoxious and bad apples in every group, but the whole group should not be judged by them. Many people would rather there were Civil Unions, with full legal rights rather than the redefining of the institution of marriage as has been traditional in western society, as they see it as a foundation of western civilization. I don't think anyone should be demonized, nor stereotyped.. be they gay, or christian.

For, the Almighty is the Creator of not only Los Amgeles city but also the full Universe ... in which Humanity enjoys a Divine mercy!

True we need fire in the forest to keep it healthy and there are some plants that cannot germinate without a bushfire, at least in Australia anyway. Besides I doubt anyone would get the message from something so subtle.

Well the God in the Bible was certainly angry a lot. Besides if people were created in Gods image then in my mind that would include the emotions. As to what distinguishes the God from human would be the level of power.

Some religions do not like it, but there have been plenty of other non Christian religions that had no problem with it. The ancient Greeks thought it was the purest form of love.

Apparently the fires were an accident. In such dry country people really need to be more careful. We have the same problem in Australia in bushfire season as we call it. It does not take more than a spark to set it off.

Good point if there was a God he probably disowned us a long time ago for crimes against humanity in his name.

Ah so the only people who really got hurt were the insurance companies and they will make everybody else pay for this for a long time. Hmmm not sure about the animals but I don't think anyone reports on them so we will never know. The smart ones would have run of course but it was interesting that it was such a wealthy area that went up in smoke.

Christians do, Sharra. And if they CLAIM to be Christian & DON'T, ipso facto, they are NOT Christian. Christian MEANS "little Christ," literally, & HE loves us all. Yes we do and some of the fires are set by fire bugs. Once they caught a fireman doing it. He just liked to start fires. I do not like people who start fires they need to be punished but they can be hard to catch.

Proposition 8 was a law passed in California to ban Gay marriage. Up to that point they had the right to get married and then it was taken away. It was just after the vote that the fires started to burn all those rich people's homes.

Absolutely, gays have been marrying in California quite legally but this new law now makes it illegal and that is a serious backward step. It also puts thousands of marriages in doubt. Will they still be legally married now?

So let me get this straight. Gays had the right to wed before. How they have lost that right thanks to proposition eight? Sounds like California Is getting more conservative than it has a reputation for being? :)

Gays have been around as long as the human race has been here. As to marriage it was about property, inheritance etc since fertility existed without marriage. So no reason why gay people should not be allowed to legally bind their relationship.
