Re-Washing Again...

Washing Clothes... - Washing Clothes...

Sitting here typing and waking up, I just realized something…I put a load of clothes in the washer yesterday. I hate when I do that…I put them in to wash and forget about them and then they never get to the dryer. Now I’ll have to re-wash them and make sure they get in the dryer this time. I can’t believe I’ve done it again. I have to re-wash them or they’ll have a funky smell to them. Do you ever put clothes in to wash and forget to put them in the dryer? Do you re-wash them or just put them in the dryer when you remember? How long have you left them in the washer before remembering? I thought is just only I that did this. It is good to know someone else does it too. I just forget about my clothes in the washer and I have wash them all over again. I don't just do the rinse cycle. I use those fabric softener sheets.

Oh yeah, tell me about it. I would really be pissed at myself if I have to repeat everything all over again. It's not like we have the technology of the Japanese and the Chinese where they just put everything in the washing machine and the machine just changes water and even dries it up. Then when it's done you just have to fold it! Whew! It was really great seeing that, sad to say it's not available here.. huhu

I do that once in awhile. I forget all about them. The dang washer is so quiet. Even if it's the same day hours later I will rewash them. I don't know why I do that it just seems it's something I must do. If they were not put right away into the dryer I rewash them. I guess that is silly, huh? Oh well.

Our washer is also really quiet. I put them in and then forget them. Get this, I re-washed them yesterday and just realized they are still in the washer AGAIN! I'm going to fix it though, I'm sitting the hamper in front of the door so everytime I see it I'll remember them. Maybe that will work. When the clothes are done I'll put it back in the bathroom. That has worked for me at times. I also brought the basket with me to the kitchen or so I'll see it while online if that's where I'm going after putting them on to wash or dry. Just doing this as a reminder does work. The thing is I don't do it every time, lol. I should. I'd save water and soap that way, lol.

Oh goodness, it sounds like you also need a timer for your clothes in the washer to remind you they are in there. hahaha Or maybe get some sticky notes to write on to remind you about the clothes and the dishes. Mine have never set for longer than 30 minutes to an hour in the washer.

I'm gonna have timers going off everywhere at this rate. Get this, I re-washed them yesterday and just realized they are still in the washer AGAIN! I'm going to fix it though, I'm sitting the hamper in front of the door so everytime I see it I'll remember them. Maybe that will work. When the clothes are done I'll put it back in the bathroom. I am always forgetting to put clothes in the dryer. I usually do a smell test. If they smell even a little bit funky they get rewashed. Normally I don't leave them in long enough to get that funky smell. Once I left for the weekend with clothes in the washer. Now that was stinky!

Even when I do the smell test I think I smell something so I just re-wash it all everytime. ~~MY OWN PEACE WITHIN~~ **STAND STRONG AND BELIEVE IN YOURSELF**

I know that is irritating. I make sure that I only wash two loads at a time and this includes the that they must be put away.

I do it all the time. I think I do it just about once a week. I have left clothes in the washer for 4 days, and remember when I am looking for an outfit and can't find it.

I hate it when that happens, the smell always reminds me of wet dog. I used to know a girl whose clothes always smelt like that it was horrible. The last time I did it I think was last week but it was not because the clothes had been left it was because I had used a hot wash, for some reason the hot wash on my machine is making this dog smell so it may need a good clear out. I have had to rewash things loads because of it! Mind you I have got this new washing liquid that works on a cold wash so I really do not need to do a hot wash anymore!

I agree. If you wash clothes and forget about them, they have this god awful rancid smell. Once, I actually forgot mines for a couple of days and I swear I saw mildew on them. So, if I forget my clothing in the washer I always rewash them.

I have done that countless times. Having 3 children my life is just so very busy to remember everything. Then longest I have left clothing in the washer is 3 days!! I always rewash them when I do remember but if it has only been 4 or so hours then I dont worry about it and just toss them in the dryer. I try not to forget but it's hard to always remember.

Oh that's so me! Try putting them on the rinse cycle and adding some fabric softener. This works for me so long as it's not summertime. Florida heay will make anything wet smell funky real quick!

I use a downy ball b/c I was forgetting the fabric softner. I feel like I'm forgetting everything lately. It's also really quiet so I don't tend to hear it. ~~IN SEARCH OF PEACE WITHIN~~ **AGAINST THE STORMS, I WILL STAND STRONG**

That is the worst... Im sure that everyone has made that mistake at least once, and sometimes its not a mistake but just bad circumstance. Perhaps your husband needs you to come help him start his car at the office, and you end up getting home to late to get them into the dryer. Its the pits. I think the longest I've ever left a batch is a full weekend.

I typically do this at least once or twice a month. I always re-wash them - can't stand the funky smell. I've left them in the washer for 2 or 3 days before remembering... Not good.

I used to rewash them, but now I just rinse and that seems to do fine. However if it has been a few days that calls for rewashing. I know that sour clothes smell, yuck!! My clothes have to smell fresh or it just wont do. What I have to get better about it putting the clothes away as soon as they come out of the dryer.

If I find clothes in the washer for the day before. I rewash them to because of the smell. It doesn't seem to matter how much fabric softener gets added tot he dyer they still stink. So, yes i re wash everything.

I have done that before myself. I hate when it happens too. The longest it has gone is 2 days! I always re-wash the clothes if it has been more than say 12 hours. You are right, if they sit there too long then they will smell funky and I just can't stand that. And I add extra fabric softener and dryer sheets to so I can make sure the clothes smell good. Have a great day and happy myLotting!!!

Yes. I have done this before. You need to be careful in humid weather however. You can actually get mildew growing in your washer.

Been there, done that, bought the T-shirt, forgot to take it out of the washer... :D LOL. I have to wash them again because I could not stand the mildew smell. Yuck! I have forgotten them for several days, because I typically do laundry once a week.
