Growing up, banana sandwiches was one of my favorites. You slice up bananas and put them on bread with mayo. Sounds kind of gross. But, it's really good. Every time I smell mayo, I think of banana sandwiches. Guess you could put any kind of diced fruit on bread for a sandwich. Have you ever tried a banana sandwich or any kind of fruit sandwiches?

Banana sandwich...yum!! It's still one of my favorites! I don't do it with the mayo though, I usually put just a thin coat of cream cheese, or a dab of light sour cream on it. Hmmm, will have to try it with the mayo, sounds interesting. I don't like the banana sandwich with the peanut butter, I really like it with the thin cream cheese though. (Sounds so good I'll have to have one for supper now lol.)

Cream cheese sounds like a great idea. I wish I had some cream cheese right now so I could try it. Next time at the grocery store, for sure. Even the sour cream sounds tempting. If you mix a little sugar in with sour cream it makes a wonderful topping for different things.

Oh my, I practically grew up on banana sandwiches. Banana, peanut butter AND mayo. Yum, yum. I'd love one right now. I skipped lunch and had a Starbucks latte instead. Wishing now for B/PB & M sandwich. How are you, BQ?

I've been dying to try cream cheese with bananas. For awhile, I went through a sour cream phase and I'm sure I would have put that on a sandwich with bananas, too!

That's pretty funny because I just finished eating one. I love them. I was on another site a few weeks ago and somebody started talking about banana sandwiches, buti it turned out that none of the people in the conversation had ever heard of making them with mayo. Maybe I converted a few people to banana sandwiches with mayo.

Yep! I was inspired to post after eating a banana sandwich for lunch. I just figured everyone has tried them. And, then I remembered how shocked a couple of Mylot residents were over my cookie/peanut butter combo idea. So, I thought that I should post. Just in case. Thanks for your comments.

Now we are talking real mayo right? Not that Miracle Whip stuff? It sound pretty strange to me, but I guess it would we worth a shot. I made my son a peanut butter and bacon sandwich a few weeks ago and he loved that.

Cream cheese spread over toast and then topped with sliced banana and some strawberry jam might be a nice alternative to the mayo. The mayo and banana is an acquired taste. You'd have to grow up with it, before it made any sense. P.S. Cute avatar. I've been away too long! I love the Care bears. Or, at least, did. They're still cute, though.

Ahh.. this just reminded me of my childhood years when I could not actually cook but still managed to make sandwiches. My favorite sandwiches of all time where the peanut butter and banana sandwiches. This simple sandwich tasted soo rich and delicious. I simply buttered up both slices of bread with peanut butter and sliced up banana to lay on top. Voila!

Tomato and mayo sandwiches are really good! Especially if they are accompanied by bacon. Guess that defeats the purpose of a vegetarian meal.

You are very creative beauty. I have not tried that one and it is only now that I know banana can be made into sandwich fillings. We have lots of bananas here and the prices are cheap. should try how a banana sandwich taste.

Thanks Zandi! You are sweet for saying so. I don't usually put peanut butter on my banana sandwich, because I use mayonaisse on my bread. And, the combo of peanut butter and mayo might taste bad. But some people swap out the mayo for peanut butter and enjoy the sandwich. It's a classic Southern dish. You can even have this on toast. And, it's very delicious that way. Thanks for your lovely comments.

No, I have never tried this before in my life! I know that I could not eat mayo on it. Way to go for you in mastering this food! I have never even put bananas on a piece of bread before. I have only eaten an banana whole.. I have sliced the banana up in cereal before.. That is the only way. I have also put sliced bananas on pancakes. But that is about all that I have done with bananas. I have never ate any kind of fruit sandwich before..

Ooh, that sounds yummy. I've never tried brown sugar with a banana sandwich. Does that include the mayo as well? Besides, I haven't used brown sugar in my cooking yet (I'm new at cooking - the past few years), and I may just give it a try...especially this sandwich!

Actually I only used cheese, egg, bacon, jams to make the sandwiches. I haven't tried to use bananas to make the sandwiches. Right now I feel hungry:) Banana seems to suit to make many delicious foods:) I love China

Hi there beauty queen. I must say that i would have probably tried this type of sandwich even if it sounds strange, but i can't because i get sick (and may vomit) if i eat mayonnaise. I must say that i never tried any type of fruit sandwiches but i can say that my grandma uses to eat melon with bread.
