Wind chills here today will make it feel like 22 degrees. And it isn't supposed to get much warmer than that all day. I have to take my daughter to the bus stop this morning. She hates the cold. Being born in summer I think has something to do with that. She will get up in about an hour and 1/2. Sometimes, she says "I'd rather stay in bed" I am almost sure today will be one of those mornings. Have you ever had a day where you just want to agree with your kid, jump under the covers and stay there? Or does the adult in you come out and say "Oh no! It's a school day. Up and At em!"

providing my son is wrapped up he doesn't mind going out in the cold. for me personally, though, i would much rather stay in bed and be warm... ignoring the cold weather is my ideal thing to do. but then, the mum in me states that as it's a school day, i must get up and deal with the cold!

I have days when I would rather just agree with my son and climb back in bed. I sometimes let that happen long enough for both of us to catch a few more z's. If I take him to school then he has an extra 45 minutes in the morning.

I was also born in august and I don't like to stay outside of my home, and even my bed in cold wheather. I have just mentioned this in another discussion and it is just an interesting chance meeting to see a question which just points my situation againist the cold wheather. In the other hand, I like spending some time in snow. But not a very long time really. It is just more enjoyable to see it snowing, or playing it for a short time before getting all wet :)

My kids are usually up before me. I don't get out of bed until I have to, and that's usually when the baby wakes me up. But none of us mind the cold that much, not until it gets below zero.

I have times like that..and I am sure everyone has as well. I don't understand why since kids miss so much school in winter(around where I live they do) why don't they just have most of Dec,Jan and Feb off of school and go the rest of the Year. It would seem logical so kids won't have to be out in it unless they want to be out in the cold.

We have had some really wird weather this year. We have not really had a drop of snow. The temps go don to minus 11 sometime but today we have a high of 74 degrees. this is very scary with global warming.

Hello ersmommy. I think that it is the same with me. When it is so cold, I have no desire to get out of my warm bed and wish to sleep listening to news on the radio. These days it is not too cold in my place, but the weather report says that cold air is on the way and the temperature will drop to average eight or ten centigrade degrees. I don't like it when it is too cold, especially when the cold wind blows upon the face, making us feel chilly. Stay warm, friend.

I hate having to get up and take my son to school! I would love to stay in bed also! It is so cold where we are in the winter, I would like to just hibernate until sometime in April. But I get him up and I go out to start the car and take him...then hurry up back home to sneak back under the covers if the rest of my family will let me! Then its back out in the cold in the afternoon to bring him home!

Well, it sure is a cold day here in London! I have just returned from buying some groceries and the wind was really biting! So, now I'm sitting in front of my computer and I have a lovely hot mug of tea sitting by myside, it certainly feels nice to get my hands around that! I guess the kids still have to get to school no matter what! I guess you can just wrap them up in tripple layers! Andrew

I love the cold, but I hate it too. When my feet are cold, I can't stand it, and it's hard for me to go to sleep. And when I'm in the car and it's cold I always have to roll the window down, which my dad hates! (: I also like winter cos it's much darker so it gives the illusion that it's too early to wake up..which in my opinion..IT IS!! :D

hi. i think id rather stay in bed as its nice and warm. like when i went to school i would always move my bed in front of my door so my mum couldnt get in and make me go to school.i always ended up going to school, but just turned up late. i loved teh weekends because i could stay in bed all afternoon!

I am definitely the adult in that situation. Up and At'em!!! I do this because although if I let my son stay in the bed, I will be able to stay in bed, but that means I have to deal with him and his sister for the rest of the day! I love my kids and all, but I need a break!!! Unfortunately his sister doesn't go to school just yet, so I still have to be here with her. But trust me, dealing with one is better than dealing with them both all day. Together they are holy terrors!!!
