Hi all I hate crowded places.. Well maybe that is a little rude, let's say I don't like them. When I can I will avoid them, not because I am shy or don't like people, I love people and like to talk with them and all kinds of things.. It's just that I don't like it when there are too many people. Everyone is almost on top off you, and they also look at you in a sterange way, like "This is my place", that's why I hate crowded places :D Today I had to go to such a place, it almost drove me insane :D I don't think I am claustrophobic or something like that, but sometimes it seems that way.. I don't think I am the only person that has this opinion, at least I hope I am not :) Please share your thoughts if you agree or disagree with me :) Thx

I dont like crowded places either. I mean it's like they just suspect you to go and move around, when in reality you can't. For example, on friday ( black friday) i was in wal-mart early in the morning i got ran over at least 3 times and im HUGE! They were like "hurry up you!"

i dont like crowded places cause you may get your bag or mobile or anything else stollen in this way and it is also very difficult to park in crowded places.once we paseed about four times the whole mall and then we got tha parking. This is the reason of crowded places not being liked by anybody.

I too like to be with people and enjoy company of others, but hate going to crowded places,be it to places of worship,or park or museum the movies or even for shopping....Not that I prefer completly deserted places,no way.....Its just that where ever I go,too many people around, just doesnt appeal to me.And I dont like go along witha huge crowd, brushing and jostling against each other,it makes me feel so claustrophobic.I prefer to postpone or cancel my visit to such places whenever possible.....Thanks for this goos post,friend......

There is one place it cannot be helped in my environment - public transportation during rush hour. I saw a video that I hope is a hoax - it shows men in uniforms shoving people in a train for maximum capacity. Not a violent attack, just "helping" getting the most people on a train. Yes, that would be WAY too much for me In fact any public event I am on the sidelines if the middle is a bit too congested for my comfort level. I am happy to be on the edge where there's none of those strange people brushing up against me. Agoraphobia- Fear of open spaces or of being in crowded, public places like markets. Fear of leaving a safe place. - I bet many in Baghdad have this right now. Demophobia- Fear of crowds Enochlophobia- Fear of crowds Ochlophobia- Fear of crowds or mobs (from phobialist.com)

Even i too hate crowded places.Even someone hits you in a crowd you won't find out unless there's space between the crowd.I also see people looking at me strangely.I love a place where its quiet and its a good atmosphere to spend time.I don't like crowds at malls as it takes long time for me to pay the bill.

I dont think claustrophobic, unless its in small spaces w/out people. Sounds more like crowdphobic. Im the same way about you on crowd. I dont go out much on a weekend because its usually more crowed. Small spaces do not bother me if its like a small closet. Boxes, now that would worry me.

On the whole I don't like crowded places. I prefer to stay at home than shopping. I would like to scenic spots on a common day rather than on holidays. I like quiet, commodious and free places. But that does not mean I don't like the lively scene. I just don't like noisy and huddle. I will go to join some party and enjoy with others. In my opinion, when it is necessary, for example to look for jollification, I would like to the crowded places. And I don't think that is wrong to dislike crowded places or someone gets claustrophobia when he have that opinion. There are different characters for different people. We can't say which is wrong or right.

I also like to keep myself alone. I also like to avoid the crowd. But being a social animal I also need a society. Some friend of me. This makes me to mix myself with a number of people. But meanwhile I feel that loneliness is better than crowded life. We feel peace, calm and secure life in loneliness.

I feel the same way. I'm not anti social, but in crowded places it's awkward, you don't have enough space to move around (hardly enough to breathe), and I find this makes it difficult to enjoy myself. Big crowded events don't interest me much unless it's something where I get a seat (personal space) and don't have to jostle around with a bunch of people. In some countries, being in a crowded place also makes it more likely that somebody will pick your pocket, so it is always a good idea to avoid crowds when traveling.

I with you on this one. I never liked crowded places because it's so stuffy in there, and I just want to yell "Hey, someone let me out of here!" It's OK if I'm around people I know, like family and friends, but I'm less likely to be surrounded by a crowd made of my family and friends. We don't kick it like that, and I don't have any friends.

I don't like crowded places either. That is why, when the church service is over and everyone is leaving the nave and going into the narthex, I hold back. I know I'll just be bumping into people. And then there's those people who gather right at the door or stairwell so nobody can get by them. It's the same way leaving a sporting event. I hold back until the crown has gone.

Yes ,I don't like the crowd places sometimes, where I found noisy and hustle and I found I really don't like. Maybe sometimes I find myself introvert and a little asocial ,that's depend on my mood I think. In fact ,I like talking with people and always smile to others .

It actually depends on which country I am at when I get caught in a crowd. There are certain countries with people who make crossing everyone's path a necessity in life. I can handle crowds as long as they are orderly. Then, there is always the concern of security whenever one get caught in a crowd. This paranoia I wish I don't have to deal with but life is like this...I can only dream:)

I know exactly how you feel. I do not like places where there are crowds of people. I even go shopping or to the movies at the times of day when there are least likely to be a lot of people there. It isn't how they look at me, etc that bothers me. I just feel like I am being closed in. Crowds can get unruly and rude and I just don't like the feeling I get when I am in amongst a large group of people. You are not alone.

I am so with you on this topic. I have to go to the Atlanta airport tomorrow with my two little children and I am not really looking forward to it. It is always so crowded and taking my kids doesn't make it any easier. My kids are 2 and 1, so I have to take my double stroller. Need I say more? Can you imagine having to take two kids in a double stoller through the busiest airport in the US? Really I'm not looking forward to it. So this is why I don't like crowded places.

Hey Nrg! You are most certainly not alone in your feeling about crowded places! I have always felt this way, but I am most definitely claustrophobic. It is nothing to be ashamed of. Lots of people have claustrophobia. I am deathly afraid to be in crowded places. I hate being in crowded stores and being pushed and shoved. I get the feeling of not being able to breathe. It is most uncomfortable. I have been this way since I was your age. It is such a common thing. I just try to stay out of crowded places if I can. Sometimes it can't be avoided. If I am in a situation where there is a crowd I try to calm myself down, breathe, and just wait until I can get out. The most important thing to do is not to panic because you only make it worse.

My husband is the same way. And I have a friend, her husband is the same way. You can let this run your life. It has actually taken over my husbands life. He want hardly go out for dinner. Can't stand Walmart or the grocery store. Has quit going to Church because of it. There is medicine for if. I'm not sure what it is. My friends husbands takes it, and is doing fine now. Of course my husband wouldn't take it. Best of luck to you.
