In My Comfort Zone (finally)

Ahhhhh! IO feel so good now. I am back in my comforst zone. That small, red, ugly, foriegn rental car is gone. I habe my big Buick backl finally. It feels so wierd being behind the wheel of this huge thing after driving that mini-compact Toyota. No waxing the new paint etc for a month. Hard to do now days with the snow, salt, and sand on the roads but it can be washed. I also have to take it back as they forgot one of the hydraulic hood lifts. But it's back and I love it. Not a great photo due to the fog and cold and all inside my garage but it is shiny believe me.
With the shocks, which I got for a lot less than cost, it came to $7567,40. It cost me $618 only with my deductible.

Very glad to hear you are back in your own familiar car, GB! The little red one will now go to someone else (who might appreciate it more than you did)! Hahaha! That little car would have one huge inferiority complex after you were so mean to it!

Yeah real comfort now for me when I drive.
I was nice to that car, I left floor mats in it.
They had none prior and needed them with the snow.

Now I need some carpet mats for my Buick.
I have plastic ones but need the carpeted ones for under the plastic. They were from the Buick but I gave them to Enterprise as a thank you I guess you could say.

Well I can't really afford it either but what are ya gonna do when this happens? It went on a CC so it'll be payed off slowly.

If it was us? We would have taken whatever money the insurance gave us and my husband would have done what he could..Wouldn't look good, but it would be running..

I felt so small once I sat down in my Buick.

I actually stopped at 2 stores to buy a box of candy as a thank you gift.
Both stores only had enormous boxes so I passed on it getting a thank you
card instead. They treated me very well I feel.

Yeah but I am so leary of others driving now as well.
Especially when I had the rental.
I drove as little as possible in that thing.
Afraid of damaging a rental I guess.

What a beautiful car! I know how happy you are to have it back!
I know how hard it was for you driving that horror! It really
looks great! They did a beautiful job! You did pretty good
only having to pay $618 out of pocket! Considering what a
mess it was I think you were really lucky! But, more than
anything I think you had an angel sitting on your shoulder
that you walked away from that accident without a scratch!
You were really lucky and thankfully your wife wasn't in the
car yet too! So enjoy having your "new" car back! You deserve
it for putting up with that horrible red thing for so long!

I talked with my Insurance Agent today, she said another $500 in damages and
they would have totaled it for $10,750. That got me to thinking with my GM emplopyee/family discount, rebates etc and that check I could have gotten a brand new Buick LaCrosse for a few thousand dollars. Bummer now that I think about it.

I am so pleased for you Bob. It really does look all shiny and new. I bet it does seen really odd to drive it but it will feel normal in a few says.
That bill was still high though and I am sorry you have to pay but ar least you will get new shocks also so that car will be good for a long while now.
