A beautiful Snowstorm In Minnesota

Here is a shot my wife took while I was outside doing the snowblowing. I have had to do it 4 times. (so far) Got about 8 inches so far on the ground. Now the winds have picked up to about 25MPH and it is blowing all over. It has gotten so bad my wife is not going to work today because I refused to drive tonight when it is supposed to get even worse. The snow started off early morning with a nice temp of 18. Now the windchill is at about -25F. Minnesobrrrr! I just did my snowblowing for the last time tonight I think. I love my snow and cold though. GOT SNOW?

We have gotten more then enough....and it's windy here too....and it's supposed to drop to below freezing tonight. I am not a happy camper! My kids left from New York yesterday in that big blizzard....made it to Cleveland last night....and hopefully will be here yet tonight. If they have to pull over and stay in a motel I would feel more comfortable with them doing that then to continue to drive...but if I know my daughter they'll be here tonight!

Here it is 9:30 p.m. and I just came in from shoveling the drifts.
]It is -7F with high winds and a windchill of -30 here.
A very bitter cheek numbing cold.
But I still love it.
Hope they make it safe.
Sounds like they know what they're doing though.

I feel the same way as you do. I would rather have my kids stay over in a motel if the weather gets bad when they are driving. Better safe than sorry. I hope your kids get there safe. Merry Christmas

I hope they make it or made it. And yes it is very cold now as it is 2:00am and to chicken to look at temp. 
mite make me even colder. My roommate did all the work God bless him for that. I had to go buy gas for the snowblower but had to get gas for my van anyway. He said Have to get his power ball. You have a nice day. your friend onlydia

GranpaBob, you take beautiful pictures especially when you are working, nice shot. Everything looks so nice and wintry there. I wish you could box some of that snow up and send it to me. Maybe it will help me to get in the Christmas spirit.

By the time I collected snow for shipping it would be brown from the salt and sand used on the roads. Start singing carols I say.

That is a lovely photo my friend Grandpa Bob. I like the way the ground looks so white and frosty. Driving is a snowstorm is awful because the falling flakes make me feel dizzy. I temperature in Minnesota sounds freezing and I thought in was cold here. I haven't seen snow since I moved three years ago. Being at the sea snow doesn't tend to settle if it ever snows. Back in Kent we often had deep snow in the winter, one year as late as March.

Here's a really nice picture of the snow on the ground before the winds and frifid air hit this afternoon. This is beautiful even though a simple shot I feel.

Had some, but it melted and we are supposed to have another front come in sometime tonight..Unlike you, I do not like the cold and snow, I would rather have it one day a year, Dec. 25, then warm weather the rest of the year..

Once this storm ends tonight we will just have the artic temps with severe windchill. Then a warmup Tuesday with a few more inches of snow expected.
I love the snow and cold to a point. The snow is great actually.

Snow? Grandpa Bob. No idea what that is any more. We don't seem to get it too much here. All those pretty snow covered British christmas scenes are just so much myth in the main. They are forecasting sun for Christmas Day. Heck, if I wanted sun I'd move to Australia.

Hello Grandpa Bob, would you believe me if I told you I had both windows open, it's 10pm at night and it's mild? Snow? What is snow? I can't remember the last time we had snow, certainly not a blanket or a snowstorm, I guess we are lucky in the UK, our Winters are extremely mild, and some days are just like Spring! Mind you we do tend to have all four seasons in one month. I don't envy you however, the only time I want it to snow is on Christmas Day for a true White Christmas, other than that you can keep your snow!

I hate the snow and the cold.We did get about 2 inches of snow ,how I wish it was all melted. I wish we would have nice warm weather all year around.

We had that type of gunk last Saturday then a blizzard Sunday as well.

We just got 12" it started friday early afternoon and it stopped saturday mid morning. Sunday we are expected another 12" here and it will be very windy also they said. It will defineatly be a white christmas and it's pretty as ever. Enjoy your white christmas Grandpa Bob

I am guessing I got between 8 and 10 inches here.
Hard to tell from all the drifting taking place with these bitterly artic winds.

It sounds lovely - and no, we most definitely haven't got snow! We've been swimming today - and mowing the lawn! And walking around in shorts and t-shirts and bare feet! I don't blame you for not wanting to go out on the roads - it'd be pretty dangerous for sure.

I hate Winter driving... Does your wife drive at all or just not in the Winter. I hardly drive in the Winter. But I drive all over in the Summer Spring and Fall.
Your really getting hammered with snow. I hope it lets up. You already got enough for a White Christmas!

My wife has not driven in over 30 years actually.
She is too hyper and scared actually.
OPlus her depth perception is really bad.
I love this storm.
Now hoping it's not real bad on our drive to the casino early Sunday morning.

You have to love the snow to live in Minnesota!
I live in southern Minnesota this winter has been ridiculous!
I can't believe how much snow we have already had!
I'm enjoying it, almost as much as you are. I just wish we could
get rid of the fridged -20 to -30 wind chill temperatures! BRRRRR!!!!

We don't have snow right now. The wind chill is 7 degrees, but the actual temperature is 18 degrees. So compared to you all, we are in pretty good shape. Tomorrow though we are supposed to have some freezing sleet. I have two appointments tomorrow, so I hope it waits to sleet until the evening. It would be safer for everyone because then most people would be at home.

i dont mind snow...as long as i dont have to go out in it! but sadly, i have to get to work and walking in snow with a cane isnt very easy. fortunately on friday, when i left for work, there wasnt much snow and the blizzard became pretty bad, so we closed early on friday and i got a ride most of the way home. snow YUK!

Hi GRANDPA BOB,
That is a beautiful picture and its white christmas for you, but please be careful I don't want you to fall in the snow and hurt yourself, I haven't seen snow like that here for many years all we get is rain or ice but no snow, I am in the South of England but the North of England gets snow but only a few inches, not much.
