Now I have watched quite a few romantic movies and most of them are predictable and corny - guy meets girl, girl pretends not to like girl and they hook up story end with very little in between. I know that its a romantic movie and you don’t have much else to work with but I would like to know if there aren’t any that isn’t cliché .The truth be told I have known only two but I wont say I would like to hear yours lol. So tell me at least two such romantic movie that departs from the same old script and bring fun and excitement to the theme of romance ? Thank you for your responses in advance.

I liked Simply Irresistible. I have to disagree with the others on City Of Angels and Titanic. The endings sucked so bad they ruined both movies. At the end of Titanic I'm yelling "Move you fat ^^^ over you spoiled twit!" That's the nicer version of what I said.

Bear in mind it's not a serious movie, but it still has appeal.

The two best romantic movies I have seen that fall under your criteria are Titanic and Twilight. now i know that is more of a teenage movie, but it has a very good plot to it.

My family like "51st date" it's a very unique romantic story With Drew Berrymoore and Adam Sandler. It doesn't have kissing and such but is a very good story line. There is some comedy in it too. I also like an older one with Alan Alda ( from MASH)and Ellen Burstyn. it was made in 1978. This couple met had lunch and then met every year at the same date. It shows how their lives had changed each year. These are not the run of the mill romantc moves.

My suggestion would be, "Love Actually". I know what you mean about corny romantic movies, but this one actually has a plot. And a few twists and turns that will surprise you. Not to mention, lots of cute people to look at regardless of whatever gender you are into. Always a plus in my book.

There are few real romance films out there now. All the titles I know are from the 90's and earlier. If you want to see a real romantic comedy, see Moonstruck or Cousins. There is a equal amount of comedy and romance. If you want to see a romantic film, no comedy, see The English Patient, The Bridges of Madison County, or Dr Zhivago.

Two of my favorite romantic movies are Dan in Real Life with Steve Carell & City of Angels with Nick Cage & Meg Ryan. I hope you enjoy them BOTH as much as I did!!! They both start & end the same predictable way, but has plenty of meat in the middle!!!

Well... corny, most of them are. I would say Titanic is a really good one... "The Notebook" an excellent movie... my last choice: "Made of honor" a romantic movie with some comedy, follows almost the same line of another film I consider a must-see: "My best friend's wedding", just for the fact of watching Julia Roberts losing the heart of Dermot Mulroney to Cameron Diaz... so, no happy ending for Jules, eh? You should see a couple of them, some are good, some are great... hope you like at least one Happy MyLotting and have a nice day! Xp

I think you should watch the French movie Amelie, its a pretty fun artistic romantic comedy which is pretty unique and satisfying to watch. I also quite liked the German movie run Lola run its not your typical corny movie, in fact the couple are already together but it goes through different scenarios until they have a happy ending as the boyfriend gets involved with a bad crowd and owes them money, the music is pretty awesome also. Of course both of these movies only come with subtitles even so they are both really great original romantic movies.

One of my all time favorite romantic comedy movies is "Love Actually" I think its great that they were able to show how love is for people of different ages/backgrounds. I think I will be watching it again this week. It is perfect to watch right now because the in the movie it is Christmas time as well :)

My favorite romantic movie is "The Notebook". I cried and cried the first time I seen it. If you haven't seen it then I think you would really enjoy it. It really touched my heart.

"Love Actually". It's definitely a love story, but it's not at all predictable or corny... it's actually R Rated for language / adult themes. It's a Christmas movie, too, so it's an especially great time to watch it!!

I'm not that into romantic movies, but Iv seen quite a few simply because I love to watch TV and sometimes theres just nothing else on but romantic stuff, but I'm more of a horror movie thriller drama type with the occasional rare splash of romantic movie lol, but anyway huh dirty dancing is a good romantic movie, and lets see if you like period films you can check out a older movie called dangerous liaisons, I think the film was made in the late to mid 80ty's its a pretty good romantic movie but, yea it has a slight bit of corn in it unfortunitly, but its still enjoyable and theres this slightly newer film called the lake house I missed some of the film but from what I did see looked interesting because it sort of has this strange twist it stars keanu reeves and Sandra bullock Oh and maybe you should check out 50ty first dates, if you haven't seen it already its a romantic comedy but its actually really good and different and not like some of the more tipical romantic movies I think you might enjoy it well I hope that you havent seen all of these yet, and if you have let me know I might be able to think of some more for you to check out.
