This weekend my wife took my son who is in the school's choir to sing for a party of people with special needs. She took some tickes in a raffle to help in the fund raising activity to help these children with special needs. Yesterday a lady from the organisation called me to check what lottery tickets we had bought the day earlier. It was the winning number and we have won a weekend break in a five star hotel. We really need it as a break together.
Are you luck in lotteries/raffles? Did you win anything lately?

i dont belive in lotteries or raffles
only the lucky indulge in it.
i dont spend my hardearned money on it.

I do not believe in luck, good or bad. It is what it is.
It reminds me of a joke that I heard once.
Every night this man, named Joe, prays to God.
"God, please, tomorrow, let me win the lottery."
The next day comes and he has not won.
So he prays again, and again, with the same results.
One night, while he is praying, he hears this voice call his name.
"Joe, this is God."
Joe is excited and says, "Oh, God, why do I never win the lottery?"
God speaks back in a booming voice, "BUY A TICKET!!"

Amazingly, I've won a lot of things lately (within the last two years). A magazine I subscribe to has a lot of online competitions each month - the ones where you have to write why you'd like the product in 25 words or less. I've won a set of expensive lingerie, a microwave oven and, just a couple of weeks ago, a pack of cosmetics turned up! Prior to that, I don't think I've won anything in my life, apart from school awards for writing.

Congratulations my friend on your win, well deserved! I am pleased for you and what a wonderful start to the new year and may your luck continue. I used to enter tonnes of competitions online free, and was quite lucky, I won a colour television, money, cds, dvds, clothes even! It was quite time consuming, but there were hundreds of free competitions to enter, I even joined a syndicate as well. I win a few times on the lottery in my country but not enough to retire on, oh well you've got to be in it to win it as they say, enjoy your break!

I can say I am lucky in raffles because whenever I am joining raffles, there is a big chance that I will win. Just recently, during our Christmas party, I won major prize in our raffle and the year before that I also won too. I have not tried my luck with lottery and I don't want to push my luck so much.

I have won a little, here and there. When filling out tickets that go into a bin, I always crumble them or fold them small. They feel different and are picked more often that way. LOL
Congratulations!! Make sure you get a babysitter so it is all about the two of you, like a little honeymoon. See, you do good things and you get good back!!Have fun... I mean... HAVE FUN!!! LOL

haha.. U are really this year, along with the new born baby.. I guess he brings u some luck to the year too.. hehe ^_^ A lottery win to a 5 start hotel is something nice and special too.. AFter all, not many ple will have that priviledge to stay in a 5 star hotel.. hehe ^_^ U truly deserved your break with your family ^_^
So far into the year, i have not won anything yet, and i'm still waiting for my chance and for my luck to come.. haha

Hi ronald..I am forever winning money through the post but before getting it have to pay for it or buy something so the letters etc end up in the bin. In answer to your question no I haven't won anything of late and haven't done in a long while, winning things doesn't seem to come my way...it does my daughter's though!! hugs littleowl

The last time I won something was several months ago. I rarely win anything but the last time I won something we went to the supermarket to buy our groceries which is worth more than P1,000 (about $22). The store had a promo then I won a Gift Check worth P500. It's really fun to win something and what makes it special is it's unexpected.

What a wonderful way to spend a weekend break. How lucky could you be! I'm happy for you my friend!!! My husband is the one who have good luck in lotteries. Whenever there are raffles in their office, he almost always would win the first prize. I,on the other hand did win few times but not as much my husband did.

sure could use a nice break too! I wish I could win a weekend
somewhere! My boyfriend and I could use a nice weekend away
together! The only thing that he buys is those stupid
scratch off tickets and lottery tickets once in awhile!
And when he wins some money on the scratch off tickets he
just buys more! So he doesn't even keep what he wins!

We have a drawing at work once a month while we have a Staff Meeting and twice I won a Target Gift Card and once I won A Visa Gift card for$100 but it's been a while.

That really is a welcomed price for you and I am really pleased for you. That was excellent.
I won £5 on scratch card yesterday but that is all I have won in a very long time. Maybe luck from your discussion will help, as you really seem to have some. Welldone ronaldinu

I have never been lucky at that kind of thing....with the exception of winnning a blanket a long time ago! Other then that I don't win alot of things...but I also don't sign up for alot of things either. I do buy raffle tickets when necessary for the grandkids but other then that I don't.

Congratulations...its always good to win something like that. I for one am not so lucky, I enter drawings and buy raffle tickets for different things all the time, but I just can't seem to be able to win anything..lol. Oh well, I think at least I helped an organization out with buying their raffle tickets, I may need help someday...Have a good day
