I do believe that if money is spent wisely it enables us to make a better world. If money is distributed justly there will be no famine or poverty! I don't think that money is the root of all evil but greed is. You can have rich people who use their wealth to help others in need. Do you think that money is the root of all evil?© ronaldinu 2009 – the more people I meet – the more I love my dog.

Money is an object it is not the root of anything and for those who love to quote scripture it never said money was the root of evil but that the"""( love )of money """is what becomes evil if one puts it first in their lives

Yes it is the love of money. I understand you should be loving your god instead of money.

I agree with what you said. It is not the money but people's greed to have more and more of it which is evil. Nothing more to add as you have said it all

Money isn't the problem. It's what people will do to get their hands on some! Were it shared more evenly, so many problems could be solved, but it doesn't seem many people are willing to share. The call it socialism or communism and characterize it as totally evil. That's holding us back from solving a lot of the world's problems, and that's really evil!

i think your right, i don't think money is the root of all evil i think that the love of money is. i think that to many people get there prioritys all messed up you could have all the money in the world and still not be happy, things will eventualy go away or can be taken from us but the relationships we form and nurture in this life are the things that last. and the more we can do with what we have for others the more we will get from it, when its a chouice of buying something for ourselves that we realy don't need or giving or buying something for someone that they realy do need then the later is definatly the one i would tend to choose.

I sure agree with you, the greed of people are the cause of poverty and famine in the world. Rich people have power and the richer they are the more money they want, no matter the consequesnces on other people....

I think that money like everything else, is not evil but what is done with it can be. I think that when it comes to greed and alowing it to be like a God to someone then it is evil. I think when any money is used for evil , its bad and when money is used for good its then good.

No doubt about it greed is the root of all evil. Money is a neutral object in there. Money won't tell you to be greedy it is you who dictates what that money is intended for that is why we should not blame money as the source of evil it is really the persom that holds it and decides what to do with it.

It is the love of money that is the root of all evil. Money can be distributed evenly but then it would become socialism. I do think that we should be charitable to those who do not make enough, but there are the deserving poor and the undeserving poor. If someone works and cannot make a go of it, we can help them out, but what about those who do not do anything? And we cannot force someone to give money to others. And would it not be better for those rich people to start businesses, donate to schools, so that those in need can work and make their own money?

too much or too little money is root of all evil but enough money to pay bills is good :) greed is one of the seventh sins already it depends on what people choose to do though they can choose to do good

hi. that is right. money will not be root of evil if it is spent wisely. anything consumed with negative agenda will lead to evil. that is why everybody should be well aware on how to spend our money wisely. it is only vital to desire for money because it is the medium for exchange but we have to remind ourselves that we cannot live for money alone. we also need relationships. nice discussion.

I have come to greatly admire the economist Robert Owen for his views on valuing the laborer, intentional communities (non-governmental communes), and the skepticism toward money. The truth is, we don't need money for life - especially when money is not even worth what it is meant to represent. You can read a bit more on Robert Owen here, he really is phenomenal: http://www.cliffsnotes.com/WileyCDA/LitNote/The-Worldly-Philosophers-Summaries-and-Commentaries-Chapter-5-The-Visions-of-the-Utopian-Socialists.id-163,pageNum-18.html

Well, personally I think that money can be the Root of all evil, as a lot of times people seem to get involved with things that are dangerous in hopes to earn some Extra income from it even if it means putting their life in danger. Also it does cause a lot of Greed, and people to risk $$ on the lottery, or on Internet things, etc. even when they turn out to be Scams as well. So personally it is something you need to remember to utilize wisely and if you ever are blessed with an opportunity to come into a lot of money try not to forget where you came from, and still be willing to help others, and it will not overtake you as well.

No I do not believe that money is the root of all evil. I believe the root of all evil is the greed of man. Of course some people might use money, their own or other peoples, to obtain power but that makes it the source of evil and not the root. There is a slight difference in the two. There are some people that I know who are extremely wealthy but they do not flaunt their wealth and they certainly do not abuse it. They live normal everyday lives, just as most of us do except they do not have to be concerned if they can pay their mortgage for example. However 1 particular couple live in the same house they bought 30 years ago when they had nothing at all and since then have modernized a bit but not spent lavishly. Instead they quietly help the needy and most people do not realise the extent of their wealth, so money has not changed them one little bit. On the other hand there are some people who have what would be considered a satisfactory amount of money but who worship money and live their life working out how they can get more. Greed can be in many forms and sometimes people do need money to finance their greed. For some people it is the love of money because the money is only needed since it will allow the person who has it to finance their greed for power. This greed for power can take m any forms, i.e. power over individuals, at/in their work, neighbourhood or even an entire nation. For others the greed is for material things and unfortunately with some people to attain whatever it is they want, they abuse the system. Money can be used for good as well as bad but sadly we often only hear about it when it is used for bad, that is to cause harm to others. That is often why people think that money is the root of all evil.

No ronald, just many people that have money can be evil. lol Some people with money are great they don't even act as though they are rich beyond my dreams. Others are pure evil in their wealth.

I agree. I believe that a person's soul is what it is, and although some souls can turn ugly with sudden wealth, many don't. When money leads a person's heart and soul,it is PURE evil.

I think that it is more the lack of money that is the root of much evil and next to that is the NEED to have more that is the next problem. Love, money and power are the three things that can cause much havoc in the world, do you not agree?

I think its the abuse of love , money and power that are evil and not love money or power themselves. Love can create bridges between people and nations besides couples, money can build up places, quench thirst or hunger and power can be used to serve others. However their abuse can create havoc as you have said.

I think you do right thint things.Loving money is not a bad thing. But I suggest you should think it over .If you too much money then what you want to do .And you real happy? I think is helpful to health.work keeps people busy away from loneliness and solitude .Work gives you a sense of fulfillment and a sense of achievement. At the same time, you should pay some time to your friends your family and youself...
