Yuk, I am on a new scheduale and I have to wake up at 4am in the morning to get ready for work. I started my new job and my shift is a very early one. Do you get up that early for work and if so what time to you go to bed at night?

hello moneymommy i am so sorry that you have to wake up at four o'clock a.m. like that now to go to work. i have a part-time job that i work at, but i get up at six o'clock a.m. during the week, to get myself ready for work, and my two boys ready for school. then at ten after eight when i drop my ten year old off at the bus stop, i head on to work. then i get off work at two-thirty p.m. in the afternoons if i have a full days worth of work to do, some days i do, some days i don't. well good luck to you and your new job and having to get up that early. and with me having to get up at six o'clock like that every morning, i have to be in the bed every night at the latest by ten o'clock p.m., or i feel awful the next day if i do not get enough rest the night before like that. take care and have a beautiful afternoon.

I once had a job where I had to leave home around 6 in the morning. I would go to bed around 10 at night. Now I have no job because the company closed. I wish I did have one I would get up whatever time it caused for without any complaints. You are very fortunate to have a good. Good Luck with your new job.

That wouldn't be much of a problem for me as I tend to wake up around 4.30 in the morning. I go back to sleep most times, but only because I don't particularly want to get up when it is still dark. In the summer though, I tend to get up when the sun is up - best time of day for me.. :-) Derek

I get up that early every morning, just think of the terrific sunrises you can see. And things are so quite at that time in the morning. It's the best time of the day to pray. Now how many more reasons do you need to get you out of bed at that time of day? Be thankful you have a job to go to. Blessings

I wake up a little before six. Bed time around here doesn't seem to matter. I got my son to bed around ten last night. He woke at least three times between the hours of ten and two. Then two more times before my alarm clock went off. So you see even going to bed as early as possible doesn't help when your child keeps you up all night.

I use to get up at 3am in the morning because of the work. It is really hard to get up so early in the morning. And I felt so tired all the day. Fortunately, I quit this job a few weeks later. I have to go to bed very early every night, about 7pm.

Wow good luck! Makes for a long day when you have to wake up in the dark. Tough for me to get motivated when it's that early. I took the winter off work and decided to stay home and be lazy. I am up between 5:30 and 7:00 every morning just because I wake up and most of the time can't go back to sleep. During the spring and summer months I work at 9am. Only work 1 to 3 days a week which is exactly what I like to do. Some employees have to be at work before dawn to open the golf course and get the carts ready to go. I am usually up late at night. Most often I don't hit the sack until close to midnight or later. Depends on what is on television. Just don't need alot of sleep.

Being retired I can get up when I please but I prefer to get up early so I go to be around 10pm and get up about 4am. I like getting all my daily chores out of the way early and then I have the rest of the day to enjoy.

Congrats! moneymommy; as you got your new job and a fortunate life during this period of economy slump. I hope you enjoy and feel the exciting and rewarding in your new job. Me and my routine life, as usual wake up at 6.00am in the morning and sleep normally before midnight time. Wake up in early morning after enough sleeping time is a healthy life style and really energized us in taking new day tasks for accomplishment. In the morning we are verve with energy and normally we can focus on our job more precise and the outcome would be very good. Having said, in perfect time management.

I work in nightshifts and every day i need to go to work in the evening and come back in the morning at 4.00. earlier it used to be very tiresome though i had less work at office, but now after one year i feel very happy and comfortable with my job though the shift is like that. I find it very cool and also happy because it has no pressure involved and i need not worry about anything regarding my work atmosphere now. i did change my eating habits etc. its only that your mind needs to accustom to work and the timings.

Welcome to my world. I have been getting up this early for work for the past 5 years, and I still don't feel that I am used to it. Before that I worked the afternoon shift. I could pretty much sleep as late as I wanted (it was nice). I try to go to sleep by 10pm every night. That doesn't always happen and sometimes I have to crash earlier than that if it's been a particularly rough day. My biggest problem centers around my day off. I tend to let myself sleep in a bit (until usually about 7 or 8am). This messes me up so much later that night, it's not even funny. I recommend, especially with you just starting this shift, wake up early on days off too. atleast unti you start to establish a pattern.

I get up almost every morning whether it is during the week or week-end between 3:00 and 4:00 in the morning. I work on the computer building Websites and I have a lot of other things that I do so I spend the first 3 or 4 hours answering my e-mails and doing other smller jobs Online that need doing while I take the time to wake up. I can't say that I enjoy that time of morning but I certainly do enjoy the dark, peace and quiet of that time and it prepares me for a very busy day ahead. I normally go to bed between 9:00 and 10:00 at night, sometimes later sometimes earlier it all depends on how tired I am and if I have finished all of my work that I had to do during that particular day. ;)

Sorry, I have not gotten up that early never. Maybe the earliest one is 5 am. Usually if I have to get up early next day, I will go to bed early. But the problem is that disturbs my habit. I usually find it hard to fall asleep that early, hard to get up the next day when the bell rang, and feel some tired the next day. I think the best way to wake up early is to establish a habit: when to sleep and when to wake up. When the biological clock is established, it will be easy, of course adequate sleep first. And when to go to bed is not most important, which varies from person to person.
