Do you believe that you can really be whatever you want to be?

I mean if you set a goal to reach....a career you want to undertake, do you believe if you inform yourself, strive to your own greatest level, and take up any opportunity that arises, that you can actually be what you want to be?

Yes, we are in control and charge of our own destiny, and it is up to us to take what we have learned, and what we want to learn and do and run with it. This means even if you are wanting to do things that you thought was impossible if you really were to put your mind to it anything can happen. Just look at Bill Gates and what he has done for Microsoft? Did he ever imagine when he first got started it would be as Big as it is today?

I do believe that you can be whatever you want to be. I think that if you really love something, you will spend a lot of time working at it because it really won't seem like work. With a goal though, you must have short and long term action plans to achieve them. You have to keep your eyes fixed on your goal and not let any disappointments or failures stop you from striving for the things that you want to accomplish.

Because I lack the confidence and education to be what I want to be, I don't believe I can do it this late in the game. My goal many years ago was to be in the mental health field helping others. Instead I was married and had kids. Since I have oficially entered the grandma era, I would like to own a craft store. It won't happen since I don't have the funds or the confidence. I am content where I am today since I'm very easy to please. Here I go bragging about myself again. Bad me..lol

Wishing you much success for the upcoming season. I won't be doing any craft fairs so I just found out today. I don't have a business license and the place where we sold them for the last 2 years now requires this license. I won't have a tent either since my other 2 partners refuse to buy licenses and one has a tent. That's ok, I will continue to make stock as something will come along one day and I'll sell what I have and if not when I am old and gone, our kids will have to figure out what to do with them...lol Maybe bury them with me.

Way back a long time ago......like 27 or so years ago I actually rented a building and was on the way to opening my first craft store....I was married and my husband wasn't exactly supportive but I knew I had something that might fly...so he goes and gets a job in another city and I had to move ....well to this day I would still like to have a craft/gift shop...maybe someday....but I do have the next best thing....craft sales and art fairs! Woo Hoo!

Within reason yes. There are some things that some people just are not capable of doing. Physical and mental limitations make it not realistic. Most things though I think if you really strive to achieve them you will be able to. It is ok to dream but, you should make it something that is really possible.

Reach for the sky but keep on foot on the ground! I believe that too....unrealistic goals are a formula for failure!

Hey jill! I do believe that if you really set your mind to something that you can be what you want to be or do what you want to do! And if an opportunity does arise that you should by all means grab it and do the best that you can because you never know when you will get that opportunity again! You have to take chances in life or you will just always be waiting for things to happen instead of making them happen!

Most definitely!! If you think you can, you will. If you think you can't, you won't. I live by this everyday. I have not accomplished much in my life, but that is my own problem. I give up too easy and plus I have never had a set goal for myself and what I want to do in life. But I do believe if we want something bad enough then you will achieve it. My problem is also I want to do something and I will work very hard to get it only to find in the end my interest has change and I know want something else so I go for that only to have the same thing happen over and over again. Maybe because I always like to try new things and at times some things sound really great and then not so great after a while.

Yeah, I think so. If you're really passionate about it. If you wanna be something that you've always dream of, you work hard for it 'cause it will never happen unless you do a thing. There's so many out there that's like, oh I wanna be like this and I wanna be like that but you could see that they're just sitting there, doing nothing. Dreams are for us to achieve with learning, experience, and perseverance. Sure, there are going to be bumps along the road but it takes control and discipline. Like they say, no pain, no gain. Whatever we wanna be, go for it and pursue it. It always helpful to have an inspiration, too

Yes I believe in this, what the mind can conceive the body can achieve. We often hear of people attaining greater heights, than they would normally do because of their will and determination. A man with one leg can win a marathon, etc, etc, All we need is a strong will. There is nothing impossible to a man who believes. Happy mylotting and cheers.

For me this statement is inappropriate why do I say this? It's because this statement gives false hopes and that this statement does not apply to everyone. It takes the person out of reality and that is not right.

I agree....some people try their best, set a goal and then get crushed in the process...is it inappropriate? I don't think the statement is in it's self....as the army uses it....and it's meant to bring people into a new realm of opportunity.

i don't see why not. if someone sets their mind to achieve a certain goal in their life they have to be very committed and motivated towards it and i believe you can achieve any goal you put your mind to.

To a point I believe....but setting unrealistic goals is a formula for failure....but to a point...I do believe if you set your mind toward something you can achieve it to the best of your abilities.

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. ~ Phil 4:13 I believe nothing is impossible through God, And my God is a God of many things including good order. I believe that if we cannot do something through science it is because we do not have sufficient understanding. It is we who put limits on ourselves. Laws of physics are theories that through repetition are "proven" true, But I believe we limit ourselves in that, in not trying to push the bounderies. We should not put limits on ourselves, Limits should ONLY be put down by God, And so far, I've only seen him put down limits in moral and in love, Social rules that we would have peace and harmony. I dream big, because even if you shoot for the moon and miss, you will land among the stars, My goal for this life include finding a way to store organic materials such as metals and finding a way to store them in a gas or a compressed state amongst other goals. including starting a school, becoming a congresswoman.
