I was needing something for my dry skin that would work well. I have chapped skin on my hands that burns when I put regular lotion on them. I chatted with a lody at the store earlier and she suggested Udder Cream. I bought a tube of it and I must say my skin feels much better already. Have you ever used Udder cream on your skin? Doesn't it make your skin feel great?

I got mine at Walmart, but you can also get it on their website. They take PayPal too! Original Udderly Smooth® Udder Cream is a greaseless, stainless water-based moisturizer with a light fresh fragrance. Originally developed for use on dairy cows, Udderly Smooth® Udder Cream. is used by many people for their dry and chapped skin. http://www.udderlysmooth.com/dry-skin-udderly-smooth-udder-cream.shtml

I believe Bag Balm is half petroleum jelly and half lanolin with some antibacterial chemical in there. My mother used it for awhile for her dry legs and it worked great but she did not like the greasiness as it stained the sheets when she went to bed at night. She went back to the expensive creams but they did not work as well. It does have a slight odor, but it is not objectionable. I think what turns most people off is that it is so heavy like axel grease and does not have a fancy perfume smell like most cosmetics. It works great though. I think around here it it almost ten dollars for a can but it lasts forever.

This stuff is Udderly Smooth brand and it is not grease and it is very lightly scented and not a bad smell. I got a 4 ounce tube of it for $1.97. It is more of a lotion than petroleum jelly like. I am sure I would hate the bag balm.

There are times that i had dry skin especially in my feet. I remember i had a discussion here regarding about that and a lot of member here give me an advice and i appreciate all of them. Anyway what i used to get rid of the dry skin especially on the feet is petroleum jelly, it works on my feet but on my upper skin i used just lotion and no problem with that. I haven't try having a very dry skin in my upper skin as we have tropical weather here but i am interested to get to know about the one you mention the udder cream. Honestly, i haven't heard of it but i am glad i came acrossed with this discussion and learn about it coz maybe i may use it in the near future when i live in a cold place. happy posting!

I used to suffer a lot from chapped skin on my hands. The more you wash, the worse it becomes. Last year I found a cheap but effective product at Avon sontained in tube like toothpaste. It is marvalous. I buy several to give to my sisters. You can also get urea glue from the hospital or pharmacy, which is even cheaper. As for the dry skin, do not bath or shower with too hot water. And the olive oil helps at lot.

I wash my hands a lot, so that is what my chapped skin is mostly from although it always gets really dry in the winter time. I have never heard of urea glue. I will have to check it out.

Hi Lilybug! I must say that I have used udder cream many times in my life, and it is a really good product! It kind of grosses my kids out when I tell them the main use for it, which is of course to rub on cow's udders, but the stuff works, so what can you really say? I used it the first time on my doughter when she had the worst diaper rash that her doctor had ever seen, she even went to the emergency room once for it! I think the smell is the only thing that puts me off a bit from it, but if it works, I don't care if I smell like a cow!

My pharmasist recommended it to me last summer when I had rather bad sun burn. I'd tried after sun and it had no effect. But the udder cream was great. It really did the trick and prevented me peeling as well!

I used to use udder cream (bag balm) on my hands but since I live in the country it is a bit more expensive here. I found a place online that sells Chickweed Salve that works really well for my dry hands. It also contains Tea Tree Oil which is an antifungal, which helped explain to me why it worked well on my arms when I got an itchy rash. Took the itch right out and the rash was gone within half an hour. It is made with beeswax and herbs so it is all natural and the beeswax seals the moisture in. I love it and wouldn't use anything else now. I found it at www.oleandlenas.us

Bag Balm and Corn Huskers Lotion are both really good for chapped skin. My hands get really rough during the summer when I'm working in the garden, so I use the Corn Huskers Lotion. It doesn't have much of a scent to it, but it doesn't last as long as the Bag Balm. I tried to find some Keri lotion the other day at the store, and I didn't see any. I used to use that a lot, and it really helped dry skin in the winter. Maybe they don't make it anymore....that's too bad cause it's really good, but a bit pricey.

A few years ago, I suffered with very dry skin on my feet, my feet were so dry they were blistering. I went online to see what I could find, I found a product called skin e dip, and bought it and am happy to say that it worked really good. I do know that I also have used udder cream, but really do not remember how I obtained it, it turned out to be another product I would highly reccommend. I remember now, I had a bunch of samples, I was pleased with the results, but I never bought it. I will have to purchase some, because my husband has very dry skin, and I forgot about udder cream until you brought up this dicussion.

I bought some of that stuff thinking it would be great but I can not abide the smell! I still have a tube and I only use it when I absolutely have to because it smells so horrible! It is really hard sometimes to find something really emollient that doesn't have a bunch of harsh chemicals or petrolatum in it but I just can not take that stuff! I find it udder-ly awful!
