Everyone has tried something only to find it did not work out right. Do you consider that a failure?? Will you keep trying to get it right, or do you give up?? I think if a person learns from it and trys aain, it is a learning experience. BUT if he gives up on it. It is a failure. My thoughts are dont ever give up!!! Even when it looks like there is nothing more to do or say. Dont give up. You are closer than you think. Keep going. payday is right around the corner. So how about you. Do you fail or do you learn??

I never consider it failure. You learn from the bad or things that dont work out. I agree with you that you should never give up. I think it makes you a stronger person

It depends. In general I can try many times and learn from my mistakes. I am very patient. If I am doing something with ultimate goal to reach in few years, than I can be very patient and take 'baby steps'.

If you do not learn from the experience of goals you have attempted-- but are yet to achieve--you have failed. If you learn from your past mistakes, and attempt to better yourself, working towards your goals--you are a success. When you don't give up, but face life--both the good and the bad--as the person you are, you are a success. A learning experience, precisely. "Do or do not, there is no try." Yoda, Jedi Master When people give up or are afraid of failure, it is because they do not have faith. Luke Skywalker- "I don't believe it!" Yoda, Jedi Master- "That is why you fail." We are always closer than we think. We need to have faith in ourselves if we want others to have faith in us.

mssnow, Success is always within the realm of possibility, if you work for it. :) I found a quote today and thought of you, so here it is: "It doesn't matter if you try and try and try again, and fail. It does matter if you try and fail, and fail to try again." - Charles F. Kettering You only fail, if you fail to try what you desire to accomplish. We fail ourselves when we do not reach for our dreams.

Hi mssnow, I guess it all boils to one thing - motive. If the motive is pure and good, then all endeavors are worth the second try (or third.. or fourth...) At times, what we want to achieve is something that god doesn't want us to achieve because He has something else better in store for us.

In everything awaits an opportunity! Everything has its good and bad points. I learn from things everything I do. If I did good, I'd do better. If I did better, I'd do best. If I did best, I'd do bestest. And more to come... :D On the other hand, falling means learning how to stand. Our feet were created for us to stand so don't put it to waste. In everything we do, we must improve otherwise all we did is in vain.

I believe that out of bad comes good, so even if we have a bad experience or failure something good comes out of it, like the learning of how we failed and next time, as they say forearmed is forewarned we are more prepared and we go about it in a different way, handling it differently and hopefully succeeding, sometimes it takes more than one go to succeed, and there can be many barriers on the way to success if we fail at the first hurdle we need to continue to reach the next hurdle etc... It is all to easy to give up but if we don't try we never get anywhere, sorry it's full of cliches and maybe if I was to practice what I preached then I wouldn't be so nervous about trying again each time.

No, I don't count it as a failure. I rather count it as a lesson learned. I might not try again right away but I will at some point. It's good to keep a positive attitude my friend, because eventually you will find a way around the obstacle and move forward. Admitting failure and giving up is negative, and shouldn't be dwelled upon. Life is a series of lessons and tests, and if you persevere, you'll succeed, by adopting a positive attitude, and putting the negatives behind you. Brightest Blessings, my friend.

Well, it can be a failure in the sense that i didn't work, but it certainly is a learning experience and a way to try it differently next time. So in a sense, even if it failed we gained something didn't we? ( worst case scenario we learned how NOT to do something hehehehehe ) For me, it usually depends if I will give up or keep trying. It sure depends on how important for me it is. Sometimes it's just not that important. But if it is, then I certainly keep trying until I get it right. I think it works well this way.

I can honestly say that it depends on my mood sweet sis! If I am feeling down then I have failed, have never been good at anything and never will be but if I am feeling good I will have the same sort of positive attitude that you show in this post! Thanks for making others look at things from another angle and perhaps making their lives a little better! Hugs xxxx

I don't think mistakes are ever really failures, I think they are opportunities to learn. The first time I ever made homemade pizza it was an absolute disaster. I put to much sauce on and the dough never cooked all the way through. It was disgusting, but I learned from my mistakes. I learned what I did wrong, and what I needed to do to make it better the next time. I think making a few initial mistakes when I first started cooking made me the good cook that I am today.

I think everything in life is a learning experience. I think you are right though as far as if you give up on it that you are a failure though.

you are right there, if at the first try the person had given up already then that's what i call a big jerk, a loser but if the person had stood up again and get back on his feet and again tried for the second time then that is living and learning from experience which should be a must attitude for everyone. never say die!cheers!

I think every day is a learning experience, regardless of failure or success or just routine work. Most of us will keep asking why we fail, but it is more important to know why we success. I have a friend who is a job-hopper. She finds job easily and she is able to change jobs 4 times a year. Her strength is in her confidence and positive outlooks. She is able to impress interviewers with her passion for work. Even in current recession, she is able to impress the interviewers with her positive outlook. I mean, when most of job applicants are so negative, you will be impressed with someone so cheerful and so positive. That's why she dares to look for new job every few months when she gets tired of her old job.

I consider everything in life to be a learning experience. If it goes right, one knows what to do to make things go right, and if it goes wrong, no matter how wrong, people know what to do at a later date to prevent it from ever happening again. Some things serve as a good example, others as a bad example.

Failure is always part of our life. It depends upon the person on how they will respond to failure they commit. Well for me, failure is closer to success because every time i experienced it, i think of it as a learning process. Better explore and go out of your shell to learn new things rather than be stagnant and gain nothing in you life. A successful person has gone through many failures and most of them take it as a challenge. So don't focus on the flaws that you commit but rather stand up and experienced!

I just completely agree to your decision, we should never give up our trying even if we don't get a positive result. A negative result itself shows that there is something lacking in your attempts and you should work harder from your last attempt. I have been in this situation too but i dint give up trying and i can say i am learning. thanks for posting such a Question.

I think that we should think about it carefully, cause in my mind, we need to persist in our life while meantime, giving up is also a wisdom way. Surely we can learn from alomst all failures but not all failures and worth our insistence.Just look before you leap!

There're some things that should be keep going, and some was not. So, people should learn which to insist on and which to give up to get closer to the right goal.

No i did'nt consider it as a failure because I always think that what ever problem, trials and struggles that I encounter i always look at its positive side because i know that God give us problem that we can solve later on. So definitely i can learn from my mistakes and eventually can change it when it will happen again.
