What a pleasant surprise...!

I logged in to my email today after work, just a few minutes ago, and received this comment for a recent article I wrote at Associated Content:
"Congratulations, Bethany! Your article, Health Benefits of Mustard, has been chosen for Associated Content's Health and Wellness Showcase. Excellent work, keep it up! If you would like to learn more about the showcase, please visit the Health and Wellness forum, located in AC Connect."
I have never been spotlighted at all, and I checked the Health and Wellness section, and, sure enough, I was on the top of the page with four other articles. It was a nice feeling. I know it isn't much, but I am sure it will at least help with page views a bit.
Have you been spotlighted on AC before? How did it feel your first time?

That is good news. I am happy for you.
No I have not gotten spot lighted on AC before.
But, I normally only write poems and creative writing.
That does not score many points. I just like writing, so I write.
But, I think I would have been surprised too if I had gotten an email like that.

Wow! Congratulations, that's awesome! I've never gotten an AC spotlight before. One of my articles was on the front page one time, but it was because I wrote about Virginia Tech so it got moved to the front page on April 16 so I didn't even feel good about it.

Well done your page views will surely be soaring now as will your clout level. It is always good when people take time to read our articles and give us positive feedback but to be actually featured is even better. Fantastic publicity, well done, keep up the good work.

Congratulations Bethany on your accomplishment.
I have never used AC before. I have heard about it though. I read articles there all the time. I think that I will check it out though as it is more work from home. I love to write so it's really fun for me and on my own schedule. I have a lab top so I have a wireless office. I can imagine how your heart just flew when you opened your email and received that message. Well hope you have more days of work like this and more frequently.

That is awesome! If by spotlighting you mean on the first page, then I've had a few up there. But they never emailed to let me know in the past, I just always found out by happening to sign in and seeing the front page with my article up. I found it really got a lot of views that way (back when views didn't count, but it was still cool). And I was really proud to see people enjoying my work.
Speaking of AC, I really need to start writing some more articles soon. I think my dry spell has cleared up and I've thought of a few ideas of what I would like to write about.

Great job "Congratulations" for you article success. I like AC, I have been writing for AC almost 8 months now and I have made more than $2,200 just writing a couple of articles in the weekends. AC is a great place to write and share knowledge. Continue the good writing Bethany.

That is sure alot of money. I take it you are receiving upfront payments rather than just page view payments. I am very envious, but congrats again. Perhaps one day I shall reach this stage

Wow, congrats! I have not been spotlighted before but I have won two different rewards. I won the top 1000 for 2009 and 2010. I would be exstatic if I something like that happened to me! I have been writing for Associated Content for many years now, so I am hoping it will eventually happen. Yet again congrats on your success.

I'm not on AC yet, but I similarly got a nice surprise. A while back I signed up to Words of Wisdom and was asked to send a sample of my work. I had to write an article for a website using keywords they provided. It was an artistic project and, in many ways, similar to the MyLot written tasks.
I didn't hear back and thought I'd blown it, as the standards are very high.
Today - a message in my in-box. My work's been accepted and I've been added to their 'waiting list'! When/if I'm offered work, it'll be contracted to me direct - i.e. no fighting for bids. The pay is good, too. I'm looking forward to the rest of 2009!
You would not believe the courage it took to open that post.

Yes I have been spotlighted before in the careers category.It was an article I wrote called Ten Tips For Your Next Job Interview. I was walking on cloud nine after I got that e-mail. Congratulations on your accomplishment! Have a great night.
