I would seriously like to know how she one became eligible for this and two how she was able to afford it? Do you think that she should have been denied this given her situation already of having 6 kids and being on welfare and living with her parents?

I have no idea how in the world she qualified as a candidate for invitro apparently that clinic doesnt have a clue about anything I hold that clinic just as responsible as the octomom maybe more responsible they should have seen the red flags and put a stop to her madness If they would have done their jobs we wouldnt be worrying about these kids right now

Yep that is definitely true. I really thought there was some type of screening you had to go through and this or that.. But now I'm wondering if any person can just walk in off the street and do this. Another thing I wonder is what would she have done if she didn't get the publicity and all the stuff that she got through the publicity of this?

I have asked this question till I am blue in the face. That stuff is expensive and she already had a van load of kids. So I would like to know too. It just seems crazy or the doctor was set to make lots of money off her later.

nope states can not make you have your tubes tied even when your on welfare and there is no limit to how many kids you can have while your on welfare or when you apply for welfare .. It's all income based. But no one has the right to demand another person have their tubes tied...

Could it be that she was offered money for publicity rights, or maybe, if she had six kids already, she used her child allowance! Serious though, no, I dont think she should have been allowed the treatment already having six kids and being on welfare. She's making a good living out of it now, I know that much! It's not right with all the childless women in the world who would dearly love to have just one kid. It's scandalous! Brightest Blessings my friend.

It's really sad that she is making a living off of welfare and the publicity of her kids. I wish someone would shake her smart.

Not only that, but with all those kids to take care of her, she'll have a comfy elderly life too. Leach is what I call her!

I think that whoever sanctioned and performed IVF for this woman needs to be thoroughly investigated. Even if you believed that it was every womans right to have a child , rather than a child having the right to a loving, safe environment it is still incomprehensible to me why they would allow this woman who has 6 children she already struggles to raise to have another 8???? Why didn't her parents object? It all seems very irresponsible to me! xxx

it is all very responsible and I for one think that she needs some sort of therapy because her actions are all over the charts. I honestly think the doctor who did this was not on his rocker either. But you know when someone is in their profession for money money is all it takes.

Oh my gosh. I really dislike that woman. She paid for it with her money that she got when she got hurt at work. I believe that she has paid attention to the news as everytime someone had alot of kids they got money and help and new homes and cars and so on. So she added it all up hey why not me. I have 6 kids and can't take care of them if I have 6 more they will take care of us. Well she had 8 and you know what I won't give a dime to her. Dr. Phil and his crap of don't let these poor kids. Well, you know there are a ton of poor kids that are not getting help. Take her kids and there are a ton of people that want a child or two. And let them see each other. She just paid for it. Sorry I just don't like her at all.

I know you are far from the only one thinking this, and wondering how they could ever allow something like this. Personally why would they allow this when she already had 6 kids she could not really afford to take care of? I personally think that this is a Shame to America and the state of California for allowing something like this, and personally I cannot see how she will not end up having some of her children taken away. Why does she continue to get so much Media coverage and such when she has never been proven to be a Good mother anyway, and why would anyone want to help support her anyways? They say she was given an award for an injury from a job is how she was able to pay for it, but you really never know. It just does not all add up to me at all.

From what I understand is she used some or all of the money she got from the settlement from getting hurt at work to do this. Which I find poor judgement since she new the house she was living in was going into forclosure. She has issues and she needs to deal with them.I think that she should be getting pysh help along with everything else!!!!

Well bella she went to 18 doctors before the one who did it. The first 18 doctors refused her. I think the doctor should lose his medical license I don't know that he should be held financially responsiable like some thing but I do think that he shouldn't be allowed to preform invitro. He obvously isn't a very smart man. Oh and when she went to get the invitro her parents house was going into forclosure so although they had a 3 bed room house at the time it wasn't for long. Yes they owned a 3 bed room house 3 adults and 6 kids lived there! Now octomom has a $500 THOUSAND dollar house with 4 bedrooms for herself and 14 kids. yes thats 15 people living in a 4 bedroom house. Nice right?!? How safe is that?

I have a family of 7 living in a three bedroom house and I feel like I barely have enough space grrrr. I just don't know how she can even justify that kinda of life for them. Shakes head and she probably will lose the house when it comes time to pay the taxes on it. grrrr.

hi bella, i ahven't read much about this crazy b%$#^ but i did a little the other night.. curiosity got the better of me.. i read that she had those eggs frozen from before.. and she couldnt possibly BEAR to have those eggs fertilized and know they were unborn babies.. hmm.. i dunno about all that.. its a lot of controversial conversation right there! I have no idea what side of the fence i stand on cause i'm not in the situation.. are frozen fertilized eggs really unborn babies ? or are they just fertilized eggs.. if you believe in a soul.. then just when does the soul enter the body.. or cells.. and what happens to the souls of unborn babies if they are never used ? they dont live, and they dont die, they stay frozen ? oh. too much to think about so close to bedtime. my brain hurts.

I dunno bella.. i just heard something else about her on the radio this morning now she's being investigated for child abuse.. her four year old has a black eye and bite marks.. well duh, he can't keep up with what ever kid is doing if she got 8 newborns!! she must be making a small fortune off of welfare alone.. Did the sperm donor come from someone who's now gotta pay child support for those ?

I have to say that I can't answer those questions. I wish I could. But you know what she didn't have to have all of the embreyos inplanted at once she could have done so many one time and so many another .. It's true that not every implanted egg takes but in her case that wasn't what happened. I just think that she should have waited til she finished her schooling and was in a better place if you know what I mean .. She didn't have to destroy the eggs or anything she could have continued to store them but she choose to utterly disregard what this might do to her other children that she couldn't afford at the time. Shakes head. what is the world coming too?

nope you can't make a sperm donor pay child support .. So the taxpayers foot the bill. Isn't that lovely? She is constantly being investigated for child abuse. LOL!!! I think that she needed to think of her other childrens welfare before she decided to have another one or eight in this case.

I have no idea how she became eligible for invetro. You have raised some very good questions. The doctor should also have to answer some questions for his actions. Do you think we will ever get any answers to the questions?? She had 6 children. Then she has 8 more. Now she has 14 small children. How is she going to transport the children? A bus, maybe. What is she going to do when the children are teenagers?? The children are going to be more than a handful when they get older. How will she explain her actions to her children?

All very good questions I have 5 and I wonder when the kids get older and want their friends to go somewhere with us how I'm I going to accomplish this since my van holds exactly how many I have now. I couldn't fathom adding another to the mix. The only way I would ever fathom another is if I could afford it and not hav to worry about it. if you know what I mean. shake head I can't blieve this was more than able to be done .. I would think there is some kind of testing that the people who want invetro go through!!!

What?! Are you serious? For real? I'd like to know too bella! She was on welfare and living with her parents? That I didn't know but would love to know the answer to this one! Damn, here we complain about wasteful government spending and yet this happens! Geeze, this is a serious case of misuse of government funds for sure! Besides that, couldn't she be happy enough with the six kids she already had? She should wear my shoes for a while and find out how to be happy with the six she had because I can't have any!! Damn this really takes the cake!

I'm sorry that you can't have any hun. And this must really burn your biscuits to hear how she gets 14... Grrr there are so many other caring individuals out there that deserve to have children more than her. Not only did she do something totally stupid but from the news I have heard she already has 2 kids with disabilities and who knows if the babies are going to have any.. This is a selfish act by a woman who needs a lot of medical help.

I think she is nuts to have that many kids when she isn't even financially stable or have a husband. I have 2 kids and they are a handful as it is. I don't know how I could cope with anymore than that, much less 14 kids. Sheesh!

I have five and they are about a year apart the closest two that I have in age are a yr and 9 days apart they are a handful but I just couldn't even begin to imagine having 14 kids let alone 8 babies all at once. That is pure lunacy...

anyone with the money and willing to pay it can get ivf , i understand it from both points of view, i mean they where her eggs and she didnt expect all 6 to take and have 2 split, but if she wanted another child she should of waited until she had a good enogh job and a house of her own , but no matter what we think or how people treat her the children are here so all we can do now is hope she can find away to get off welfare and takes care of her children , i dont know how she will be able to handle that many kids because i have 4 and sometimes they drive mw crazy. all i can do is say good luck to her and i hope for the best for the childrens sake.

I think that she needs a lot of psychological help.. I really do. I think that she will never be able to get off welfare and that we will continue to hear more and more about her and she will make the media circus into a profitable business for herself.

This was something that I asked when I first heard of the situation. Here she is on disability and she can aford, with 6 other kids, to get this procedure? That's why I am so suspicious of the doctor that performed the procedure. I just think this whole thing is so outrageous. I know that he was being investigated for his invovlement. Did anything ever come of that?

I have no clue if anything ever came of that investigation I will say however that from what I have been being told she did this with money that she won as a settlement from an injury that she recieved at work.

I guess if you have the money then you can do anything with out them making sure you can continue to afford it. From what I have been brought to understand she ended up with money from a settlement and used money from that to pay for this.

i was wondering that myself..i had thought you had to have a history of not being able to concieve to qualify,as obviously is not a problem with her. but i think she may have worked for the doctor previous,so there may have been a bit of insider there.was unethical of the doctor though.

She evidently saved her money that she used while "working" and then bribed some doctor. I wouldn't be surprised if she had a deal with the doctor to give her a percentage of her earnings from her new reality show and her interviews and story rights. Everyone has a price.

From what I understand the money she used for this was some of the money she got from a settlement that she won.
