Chocolate - with Chilli!

I saw this in a shop today and I had to buy it. It is Milka chocolate, with Chilli in it. It is a "limited edition". I bought some, not knowing whether it was going to taste lovely, or disgusting! I tried it, and it is very rich and creamy like normal chocolate, but it also has a spicy after-taste and leaves your mouth feeling hot! Very unusual - but nice, in a strange way! Anyone else tried any strange types of chocolate?

I've heard that a piece of strong dark unsweetened chocolate is sometimes used as a secret ingredient in some Chilli Recipes..I like Milka choc, having tried other products by them, but have never tried this one or seen it as Yet-though I have tried Chilli chocolate before, but from a specialist chocolate place in London on a previous short visit over there..I think there are one or 2 manufacturers out there maybe trying out this type of product-it's certainly different!-I'll keep a look out for this stuff

Chilli and Chocolate together is a very ancient tradition. it's usually with dark chocolate though, rather than milk. as well as chilli chocolate, I've also had chilli chocolate with mint (which is a really interesting blend of hot and cold) and chilli chocolate with orange. chilli and chocolate is nothing at all new. I find the idea of chocolate with peanuts much more strange than chocolate with chilli.

I can honestly say I have never heard of Chocolate chilli before. I don't think even the slighest bit of chilli tast in chocloate would taste very good. I have never seen any kind of unusal chocloate before just milk, white and dark nothing like what you found!

My chocolate tastes are conservative. I can eat chocolate with nuts, creme filling, caramel or liqueur in it. I don't like chocolate with fruit filling. I prefer plain dark chocolate of 70% or more cocoa. I really like chili, but I have no interest in eating chili together with chocolate. Some people like chocolate to go with anything. They'll eat it with french fries, they'll deep fry it and some will even cover insects with it before consumption. I don't partake in these type of practices.

Wow! That is awesome. I like spicy food and I like chocolate. Where did you bought it? How much is it? I would like to buy those chocolates but for sure my wife will hate me for it but I would like to taste the feeling of eating creamy chocolate with spice on it. That is pretty unique and awesome!

Ewwww. But you know what is good? You take a regular Pringals chip, dunk it in chocolate, and dip it in frosting. REALLY GOOD!

Once I saw they sold chili chocolate in the store extra cheap. It was a really good quality so I bought it. They must have dropped the whole bag of chili into the chocolate when they were making it. It was really hot. I have eaten it little by little, sometimes with ordinary chocolate, it got kind of edible that way....I actually got used to it after some time.. No wonder the price was low..

Hazelnut, mint, cinnamon...hot chocolates I've tried. Never tried chili before, but I had heard about it...with all our hot peppers this summer, I'll have to try it sometime!

My husband has made chilli with chocolate in it. Kind of a reverse of what you had. He likes adding "secret" ingredients to chilli or other dishes and seeing if we can figure out what he did differently.
