Are you adventurous?

There are people that are comfortable being in their daily routines and then there are those that are a little more daring. These people love to try new things and some of them actually go to great extremes to do so. I think these people that are always doing new things are adventurous. I am to an extent but there are so things I won't try. What about you? Would you say you are adventurous?

When I was younger I was very adventurous and traveled a lot. I would move to new cities with only $200 in my pocket. I loved it. Now, though, my depression has gotten the best of me. I still have an adventurous spirit, but, my depression keeps me from doing a lot of things. My energy level is very low. Purrs, Catwoman=^..^= & Mija

Oh, definitely. I'm taking medication, but, nothing really helps me. I've tried all kinds of different medications too. I have a new psychiatrist that I just love and he's really taking an interest in my situation, so, I believe he may be able to really help me. Take care, sweetie! Purrs, Catwoman=^..^= & Mija

Hi kellyjeanne! There are a lot of things that can keep us from being adventurous. I was like that to when I was younger. I look back and think "How in the world did I ever make it?" I know that depression lowers energy levels greatly. Are you doing a medication plan to help if you don't mind that I ask.

I don't even know what the word means LOL! Seriously though I am not at all adventurous in any of my life, I am probably seen as 'boring' and I prefer my comfort zone too much to step out of it, I like my daily routine and it's very rare I will step out of it. I don't like dangerous sports, I won't try new foods. I guess it also depends on how extent adventurous can be. I did book up a holiday on my own and got on a plane on my own which for me is very adventurous as I hate flying! Mind you I had an ulterior motive I had to escape someone at the time, and desperate times sometimes cause for desperate measures! I guess if I am backed into a corner I will do anything to get out! So for me it depends on the circumstance.

LOL..circumstance can be a great motivator..hehe. There are a lot of people that are comfortable in routine. I like mine to but I do have a bit of an adventurous side to me. Moreso when I was younger. Thanks for the response!

I am one that is more comfortable with the same routine. However, I do enjoy traveling and site seeing. Sometimes it makes me feel uneasy when I am in an area that I am unfamiliar with. Adventurous is not a word I would use to describe myself.

Hey Jen! I used to be, but not anymore! Those days are long gone! If you can count trying a new brand of something or tasting something or trying a new restaurant or taking a new route to somewhere adventurous then count me in! Otherwise, nope, been there done that! I'm into being safer than sorry these days!lol

Heyya Opal! If you've had your fill of adventure..it's better to be safer than sorry for sure. I think that we all have a time when we are a little more adventurous than others. I'm all about trying new food and going new places too. Thanks for responding.

Hi advokatku! I suppose adventurous can mean different things to different people. I guess I'm just asking if the people here would describe themselves as being adventurous and hoping they'll share what makes them feel like they are. I'm pretty adventurous when it comes to certain things but then I have my limitations. There are some people though that have none and will do just about anything for a rush.

I wouldn't say that I am adventurous, I like being in my comfort zone. THere are times when I would do something that isn't normally me, and feel great about doing it. Other times I am way to chicken to try something risky. I know life is short, but there are other ways to enjoy it.

I agree that life is short. I think it's more up to the person as to how they want to enjoy it too. I'm a lot like you. I get a wild notion from time to time but on the norm I'm pretty scheduled..lol..Thanks for responding.

Personally for me, I would consider myself adventurous and like to explore and try new things. Sometimes I think this is a Great way to meet New people and explore things that you may not know about otherwise. I am even considered adventurous when it comes to food as I enjoy trying New foods from time to time at places I would never have considered otherwise.

It really is a great way to meet new people and if you like it then you get to meet new people that share your interests. I am pretty adventurous with my food too. I really enjoy trying new things. I get bored with the same dishes all the time and often welcome change. Thanks for responding my friend.

I can't say that I am. I am a homebody who just enjoys staying home, and sticking to a routine. Adventures are okay, and I don't mind riding in the car for a bit, and going on vacations are bad, but as far as climbing Mt. Everest or sky diving, or looking for the lost treasure of what not... well that's just not for me.

I like my routine for the most part too. I just have this thing that makes me want to get out and do something very different sometimes. Sky diving wouldn't be my cup of tea because if there was anything going to go wrong..I'm sure it would be when I was doing it..lol..Thanks for the response.

Yes, I think I am adventurous but how to check if I am telling myself a truth or not? I mean I don't have any place where I can say that I can jump from or I don't have a bunjee jumping facility in my town. One thing I could do in my childhood and that was crossing a river by swimming. I was scolded by my parents but I did that again and again. It used to take more than half an hour to cross that river but I used to swim a lot those days! Ah, those were days!

I was fine and doing fine too. I was just like I was too busy with my offline life that I couldn't make out time to do mylotting. Even now a days also I only get an hour or two to work on mylot I can remember one thing which I did in my life was jumping from a water tank, which was situated on the top of the roof. It was when I was only 6-7 years old!

I can’t say that I am all that adventurous. It may have something to do with getting older perhaps! These days I find myself dreading change and all want with my spare time is peace and quiet instead of a party which is what I would have chosen a few years ago. When I was younger I dropped everything and flew overseas, I would not hesitate staying out all night and then go to work. I never tried dangerous stuff and the most impulsive thing I ever did was get married without telling anyone while out of the country and yep! I did live to regret that one!

I am like you with my past being a little more unpredictable than I would even consider now. maybe it is age or maybe it's just living and learning. I like to think of mysel as seasoned more than aged..lol..There are still thing I would like to try but I do enjoy my peacful moments as well. Thanks for responding.

It depends on what you mean by adventurous. I think I go back and forth. I like to have a daily routine, but occasionally like to do something different. I have become a member of some outdoors groups. I go letter boxing and orienteering. There have been times when I would have been afraid to try something new. And to join a group, forget it.

I think I'm a lot like you in that aspect. I have my routine but there are times when I actually need to do something different and "adventurous". There have been times for me that I have had a few second thoughts about things too. If I think twice..nine times out of ten..I won't..LOL..Thanks for the response.

I always try new things but with caution. You don't want to put yourself in discomfort but you do want a variety of life experiences. So just use caution as a safeguard against an uncomfortable position.

Not as adventurous as I'd like to be. I've gone some cool places, but I do tend to get stuck in my little rut (comfort zone) and not try new things a lot.

I'd like to say that I'm adventurous about the jobs I end up doing. A lot of them are not normal jobs. But my life is pretty mundane I have a pretty strict schedule that I stick to. But sometimes I do things around the house that surprise me, an example would be dancing to the 80's show on the weekend.

So you do a lot of odd jobs? That would be considered adventurous. I'm pretty scheduled too doglady. We could all use a good dance around the house sometimes though. Schedule or not. Thanks for the response.

Unfortunately, I am not adventurous. I am stuck in my daily routines. I probably would be more adventurous if I didn't have to try new things by myself. It shouldn't be that way. I'm usually attractive to my acquaintances adventurous lifestyle, always going new places, always meeting new people, and excited about new life challenges. Maybe one day some of their adventurous ways will rub off on me.

I would say i am not adventurous. I just like the comfort of home. Sit in front of a PC and do what i got to do. I am actually enjoying try to earn a bit from the comforts of home than go out searching for a 9-5 job.
