With the way money is for most people i would love to know where people have money to go out every night.I think that it is throwing money down the drain.I know the saying you only live once, but where do they get all their money from?Do you feel the same,do you see this or is it just people who i bump into?

I also see a lot of people going out almost every night. To add, I know a few friends and relatives who do that too but they are not rich at all. I think they don't have a lot of savings. They just spend and spend because they love living the good life. I don't think they are thinking of their future. As for me, I just go out once or twice every week. I don't spend a lot of my monthly income.

Interesting question. Most of the people I know are in the same boat as I am and have cut back drastically on going out for entertainment or eating. The few I know who still do go out often are living beyond their means or they DO have the means to indulge that habit. Karen

people works hard so that they would have enough money not only to support their basic needs but also works hard to make money so that they may afford to have night life. They go out every night because of the feeling of vanity in their lives. They treat their self by finding entertainment to their soul. They are not satisfied with their life so they find ways to make their soul happy temporarily.

Hey jugs! I really don't know about people going out every night since I'm at home!lol I can't afford to go out at all so I am usually at home! I can't remember the last time I was out for an evening! My boyfriend works until late and by the time he gets home from work he takes a shower and watches tv and goes to sleep! Since I'm not working an on Disability I really can't afford to spend any money because it all goes to bills! Most of my friends are either in a similar case or close to it! So whatever entertainment we have is renting DVD's and staying at home!

I hardly ever go out to eat fast food or to a regular restaurant myself because I also feel the same way you do. Its a waste of money. Well about a month in a half ago I went to an italian restaurant with my daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter. I was really surprised how crowded the restaurant was. I was thinking like you where are people getting the money to go out to eat. My bill at this restaurant was only $15.00 for myself. My daughter and son-in-law they are funny they don't think there is a recession. I chalk that up to be young and naive. I guess for the people who have jobs and making money they may not see it or feel it. So they feel they can spend the money. I see it more because I don't have a job. So for me after working the better part of my life (32 years) and now not having a job its scary and I don't spend unless its for the bills and food.

Some people just don't have to worry about money. My boyfriend's parents, for example, have no problem with taking the entire family out and spending $500 on a meal. They don't do that kind of thing incredibly often, but if they wanted to they could go out to dinner, movies, trips, every night if they felt like it. They also donate copious time and money to various charities, attend benefit dinners and groundbreakings. They've worked hard and made names for themselves in their respective careers, made good financial decisions and are wealthy people because of the path they chose in life. I think the real problem comes when people live beyond their means and spend money they don't actually have, via credit cards for example. I grew up middle class and my own parents worked really hard to make sure my brother and I never wanted for anything and instilled the same work ethic in myself. My boyfriend's parents are the wealthiest people I've ever known, but also some of the most generous. And while I sometimes find myself questioning their spending because of my own upbringing, I'm starting to realize that it's just their way of life.

You know I've tried to figure this one out myself. I know people that are always out doing something such as movies, dining out or just shopping and just throwing away so much money. I can't figure it out. I put off buying myself so many things because I realize that if I were to buy all of these things I'd truly be wasting money that I really didn't have. Or rather, I do have it but what's the point in wasting the money when I may actually need it at some point.

I haven't bought any new clothes for over 2 years now. I just use what I have plus I don't work in a place that requires me to dress formal all the time. So for my home business I dress informal but neat when people come, that's all. Hubby travels a lot and outdoor person. he bought quite a few new shirts and pants so in this case he certainly spend more money than I do lol We don't eat out anymore, we just buy videos and cook at home. We plan to have kids therefore living according to budget is necessary. I think going out is ok, it depends on where you spend the money. Going fishing every night won't cost much, especially if you live close to a lake. But eating out every night even if it's only a buffet I'd imagine will cost a lot more.

I don't think people go out every night. It just happens that there are so many people that some of them or the other are going out. So the theatres and restaurants are never empty. If people really started going out every night, then after a short while, even if they had all the money in the world, they would simply get bored with it and stop by themselves. So I don't think this is the case. Cheers.

I have no idea. I am certainly not one of these people. In fact, I don't know anyone who does this. They must be sacrificing something else to afford to do this. It is an expensive habit,

They don't! They are taking money from some where else. Has to do with how important some things are to people and not to others. No, I see it too. Immaturity and lack of responsibility has to do with it too. All people are different. Some see their responsiblities and others don't.

I must admit that in my "younger" days, I was more carefree about money. I worked, but lived with my parents, so I could literally afford to go out often if I wanted to. But now that I have a family, I have to think of the bigger picture - so there's just no way we're going out all the time like we used to! There are things we need to pay for and things we'd like to save up for! We have friends who are married but do not have kids. So these couples tend to go out more often than us. One couple eats out almost every night because they both work - and work many hours - and don't have time to shop or cook food. They both make a decent amount of money, so perhaps it's not a problem for them. One of my friends also goes to Starbucks 3 times a day .. . and that place is literally her food source. Not only is it money going down the drain, it's not very healthy for her! And then there are the friends who are just kidding themselves and using the credit card. They are so in debt that we worry about them - but they keep on with the habit of pulling the plastic out. Very scary. These days I can think of better things to do with our money .. . going out every night certainly wouldn't help with that. Going out is fun, but getting deeper into debt sure is not!

I have no idea how people afford to go out every night! Money is really tight for most people including me. I have a feeling that most of those who are going out every night are just using their credit cards to cover their expenses.

Hello jj. I seldom go out at night unless it is during the summer vacation when it is hot to stay at home at night. But I love to take a walk outside after dinner. I don't go to those places for entertainment, where we have to pay for it because I am not into such a habit of spending my money that way. Also I don't think that I will ever waste my money that way.

Most of my work colleagues (who are on similar salaries) go out (like to pubs/clubs/bars/cinema/resaurants etc) at least twice a week. I've been twice in 10months... to the works Christmas do and to a friend's wedding. I went to pizza hut one afternoon but I had vouchers that I earned on a survey site so it didn't cost me. Doesn't mean I dont enjoy myself but, yeah, I wonder how people can afford it. One of my colleague said she didn't know how she would manage as she only had £40 to last her the week before pay day - all her household bills had been paid and she'd just done her grocery shopping for the week but she wanted to go for a night out & 'You can't do much with 40 quid...'???? (apparently)

I saw that too . In my neighborhood all my friends have cars , jewels and so on .I don`t have a car, not ever jewels . I was asking myself what they do to make more and more money each day , and i found out that some of them are making dirty business and some of them have rich family . That`s the fact . More and more of them are going to make dirty business and that will bring them a lot of money . But i don`t want to have money like that . I`ll try to make my money legaly and step by step, but overnigh .
