It was so sad to announce that are company is having a cost cutting and experiencing a ramp down. They will pull out 180 employees and I am one of them. I don't know what seems to be the basis. Christmas is coming. I do not know what to do. The people who are included in the lists are really surprise why I am in the list. They know how do I perform. Not to boastfully say, I am included in the top performers of the year. I even ask for the explanation but they did not answer me. It is really unfair. i don't see any reason for me to be out of the company. there are lot of employees who don't perform but they were retained. What should i feel about this? It is really unfair. I have start all over the again. I have to do with the application process again. I am really depress. How will I move on?Its Christmas time,my family needs me.Needs my support.

HI rberon, Sad to hear about this bad news from you. Your company should give you an explanation on why they pull you out since you are performing well in your work all the time. The most important thing is that get your testimonial before you leave your company tomorrow. Be strong to face this hard decision !! Don't forget that your families and friends are always there for you. You can start doing a job hunting and based on your so many years working experiences, you should be able to get a better job. Wish you good luck in your job hunting.

[i]"Your company should give you an explanation on why they pull you out since you are performing well in your work all the time. I am looking forward for a new job in the next coming days but I know it will not be very easy. I have a lot of adjustments to make. New friends, new products and new learnings.

It is indeed very difficult but have faith in yourself and god because when one door closes another opens up. Instead of getting depressed consult some good recruitment agency to get a new one. Search another job with a positive framework of mind and then you will get a good one.

thanks for the motivation. it is just hard to accept for myself to be part of the said ramp down because i know to myself that i have performed.can you imagine an employee without no late and no absences for the past 1 year and 4 months and will be remove to the company? An employee belonging to the top 5 performers of the company? How will you move on in that case? It is really depressing right?I am so sorry to say this, I am just very sad to what has had happened.

rberon1985, Move on! If you are really as good as what you have said about yourself here, then I am sure you would get a very good testimonial from your current company that is laying you off. You cannot afford to look back and keep asking unanswerable questions or reasons of your retrenchment. It just happens and the company would not dwell on the details with you, no matter what your contributions had been. Just accept reality and walk away. Start sending out resumes everywhere including head hunting agencies and pray hard for an interview or acceptance. If you have been an excellent performer with credible results to show, then I am relatively confident that you will be quite a hot item to the hiring market. Take care and all the best.

rberon1985, Well, I am just glad to be of help. I have been around if you can see my posted discussions and responses. Anyway, in times like these always expect the worse but this is for you to prepare your next step than to fall into depression. Louis Pasteur once said: "Chance favors the prepared mind", so I am sure things will work out eventually but not so if you do not do your planning, preparations and go about with your bidding. Chin up and take care.

But I will have a try. i will try searching for a new job on monday. i hope I get the job soon. I don't want to be hang for a long time. There are many people who needs my support,so I can't leave them. thanks and happy mylotting!!

hi rberon1985 welcome to the club out of work, I feel for' you, I truly do. I have been privy to the same misery for' my own son, and he has been out of work now for almost 11 months and he has been really looking too. rberon, dont feel that you did anything wrong, big companies in lots of countries cut back and just go eeny meeny miny mo, this one and this one and this one have to go ,I don't think that they even look at you employees's records, they just cut randomly and cruelly too I might add. what should you feel about this? well if you are like my son, angry and upset, but then you have to get past that and tell yourself maybe this will just lead me to find a much better'jog as I was a very good employee where I was,I am experienced and someone will really like me. chin up smile things will get better hatley here.

I am so honored having a response from the pioneer members of this site. I am actually upset the decision of the company. Since I started with the company, I have given all the best that i can to keep my good status in the company. then this time, when they will have to lessen the number of employees, they will include my name, even though i gave them a good performance. It is really unfair.I can't control myself to be disappointed because i know to myself that i have really performed.

I know what you feel. My dad has the same situation 9 months ago. He is also one of the top performer. And yes! After few months, the company re-called him. Now, he is fixing his papers to work again with the company.

Good for him. With us, we are only given one month. If we will not be endorse in other account, we will be given a separation pay, and that's all. it is really hard to accept in my part coz i know to myself that I have performed. i have been part of the top performers of the year. I do not know how to move on in this kind of situation.

oh..that's tough... it's not that easy to find jobs..especially this season.. companies tend not holf off hiring when christams is apporaching...i dont know why they do that. maybe you could apply for a quick loan, just to hav something for the meantime..and make sure you spend your money wisely.. relatives could maybe help too.

I think i cannot expect any help from them. They also need help. Quick loans here in our place is not applicable.they are giving big rates which is not fair to the borrower. yes, you are correct that when Christmas is past approaching, very few company hires. the company promise that they will take good care of us but if they will not able to find a new account for us, we will just be given by the separating pay. how sad. i have work very hard.

I am very sorry that you lost your job, and it is very unfair, but don't take it personally and don't let it affect how you feel about your self. They are letting a lot of people go so it is not personal and probably has nothing to do with how well you did your job it all comes down to money unfortunately. I know starting over is very difficult, but put your best face forward and get your confidence up. I firmly believe things happen for a reason, perhaps there is a better job out there waiting for you, go out and find that great job.

Sorry to hear. The recession sucks for everyone, everyone that works! Don't take it personally though- when companies cut people they are minimalising the number of job positions and not because u didnt perform well. It's not quite xmas yet, gather ur strength, make new applications, spend time with your children, be there for each other- work for people who appreciate you!

Oh boy! What a sad news... Really? What happened to your top rank? I think your company is letting go of the best employee. Our company is barely staying afloat, too. Non-performers are easily let go, but it should first go into process. And I am still struggling for my regularization on November. But then again, it's your company's loss. Cheer up! You can find a new job easily. No doubt about it, calyxus

i felt unfair for you. it's really a sad thing to know that life is so unfair. i really don't understand why your company retain employees who don't perform while pulling out people who perform well just like you. it must have to do with your company's politics. otherwise, how can your company survives in the long run if the top management doing things in this way.

I can really see that there is a politics in our company, we are divided in the different groups, and each group has its own supervisor. Lucky for those other employees because they were able to depend their subordinates. I did not see any effort from my supervisor to defend me from our operations manager. Actually, my supervisor is also included in the list of the supervisor who will be out of the company, maybe that is the reason behind of the not depending me.I am really sad and disappointed, it is not easy to find a new job as of this moment.

sounds like the better you performed the more they have to pay you.. so get rid of them and have temporary peeps in that have no clue and get paid less for it!! sister had same aswell last yr.. they basically said that she is their best hard worker... but they cant afford to keep paying her.. So let her off and few others who was highly ranked.. And got dumb Temps!! lol and now they have fallen through and had to declare bankrupt!! HA! thats all i wud say to them!!

As awful and unfair as it seems, try to look at it as an opportunity. I know that right now is a bad time in our economy to have to look for a new job, but may I make a suggestion? Why not use something that you really enjoy doing, whether it be on-line or off, and make it work for you. If you love to write, then look for writing opportunities, if you love to design things, look for something in that realm. What I am saying is that as hard as this is right now, it may very well be a blessing in disguise. Something will come along, or you will figure out something that will take you in a whole new direction and in the end, you will be much better off as a result.

Hi rberon, Girl, you need a pep talk! Have a good cry and, realize that it is over and done with. There is nothing that you can do. Then you're going to make a plan and list all the things you can do. Then if you're in the good ole USA you're going to sign up for unemployment. The first month just go thru the motions with a smile on your face. Stop the woe is me attitude because it won't help. Stop talking about it, because it's over. I have this saying: The past is history. the future is a mystery, but the Present is...a Gift from God. So be thankful for now. Every minute. I know this sounds stupid but, you have to trick your mind into believing that everything is better than it actually is. If you do this and you do it right, you should be better than ever before. There is another saying that I read in some self help book: "Today is the most magnificent day of my life. Health, wealth money, success, love and prosperity come to me now in great abundance." Repeat this in the mirror several times a day. Say it with meaning. Don't look back! Don't talk about it. The more you talk about it the deeper the groove gets in your mind and your mind will actully think you like not having a job, and being miserable. Guess what? Your mind is a true genie. If it truly thinks that you enjoy being without a job and totally miserable, thats what it will bring into your life. Get the book called The Secret and any other self help book you can get your hand on that are Positive.Always stay Positive. Last, please believe that many people have been cut from positions. You are not alone. How you choose to handle this challenge will determine how long you will be out of a position. Good luck to you and may your God Bless you.

Really? I know you can move on with your work experience in your company. Just try to be optimistic and I'm sure you are familiar with some work online and earnings. For the meantime, try to take time to look for money online.

I can understand your mood, I experienced this thing last year, my previous company fire me and other employees, because the company don't have any business do and didn't got good profit. Then I start to look for other job which I can endure, fortunately I got one, and I always work here. As you, the Christman time is coming, don't be so depress and down, your family will be afftected by your mood, so cheer up, and look for whether have a another chance to get money.
