Another example of what Obummer and his subversive crew have sneaked into the proposed health care bill. If Obummer keep on with his plans he will have elimitated the elderly, sick and disable as non constructive members of society! Democrats' plan to help 'uninsurables' questioned WASHINGTON – You're afraid your cancer is back, and a health insurance company just turned you down. Under the health care bills in Congress, you could apply for coverage through a new high-risk pool that President Barack Obama promises would immediately start serving patients with pre-existing medical problems. Wait a second. Read the fine print. You may have to be uninsured for six months to qualify." If you are a cancer patient and have cancer now, you can't wait six months to go into a plan because your condition can go from bad to death," said Stephen Finan, a policy expert with the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network. He called the waiting period in the Senate bill "unacceptable." Your comments??

I just read this a few moments ago. This is the plan to help the uninsurables until 2013, when the government plan takes over. While trying to look good and caring about people with no insurance who were dumped or denied by insurance companies, this plan would give them a good six months in which to die before the government would allow them any coverage. I can only assume this is because they realize they don't have the money to fund this plan, so it's necessary for most of those needing it to die off before they qualify. The message to people who need insurance from the framers of this bill can be summed up in the words of Alan Grayson - don't get sick and if you do, Die Quickly. Of course Grayson told us that this is the Republican plan. Apparently no one told him that his own party was already taking care of helping people die off.

I hate to be the grim reaper in the conversation but.... It is not the government, the doctors, the insurance companies or the politicians that are helping people die off. It is the cancers the heart attacks and the viruses. Under all healthcare plans being proposed by both sides, people will die. Under all plans proposed by both sides people will receive less than complete care due to a inability to pay for that service. What this debate is about is not, if there will be circumstances where people don't get care, but who is in control of those circumstances. Is is because the government ran out of money, is it because the individual ran out of money, or is it because the insurance that the individual purchased was not enough to cover the cost of a particular illness. One of these will happen. What we need to decide is whos hands do we want to leave it in.

Sorry I forgot to post the link: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20091105/ap_on_go_co/us_health_care_uninsurables I am in the elderly category who is not considered to be the type of citizen who Obama wants to keep around as we are not in his earning capacityof citizens and therefore not deemed worthy of living. Once thing I know for sure I do NOT want the government being in control of my health care. I have worked and paid taxes all my life so IMO I have paid my dues and am entitled to all that Medicare has to offer regardless of my health status.

Hi Ray. Im back after one years absence from My Lot. I went searching for my best friends & found your discussions. I see they are all political!! I chose this one, because I have already heard another complaint from an American friend of mine regarding Obamas Health Bill. It was even reported in our daily paper. My friend is 68 years, & he says this new bill will disadvantage him & other older people. He said the US is almost rioting about it. I dont understand how this bill would work? I gather that people with chronic health problems cant get health insurance. So Obama has created this new insurance company for high risk people. But hang on, one cant join until they have had no cover for 6 months?? So what happens in that 6 months? Pray for good health!!

JENNY you're back!!! You have no idea how often I have thought of you. I even PMd you a couple of times but no response. I wondered how your daughter's swimming career was doing. This is Great! I have been mostly responding to political stuff as I have never in my life ever detested anyone who I have never personally met but Obummer is the first I can say it of...that man will ruin the USA and his Health care bill with ruin me!I am 70 years old now and if Obummer has his way he will leave all the old people to rot as he does not consider us to be citizens worthy of good health.

Lakota you and I agree on these issues . I know I pay my Medicare dues of $96.00 a month from my social security. So you bet I am going to stick up for my rights. I did receive and email response from Senator Chambliss (Republican) this morning in response to the emails I sent to everyone yesterday and he is completely against each of the points, which are important to me, which are currently in the proposed bill. So far I have not received any response from Congressman Isakson (for Savannah) but what did I expect he is Democrat!!!

How many voters are actually going to read this? How many elected officials will? It is great that you bring this up. I really do not think people believe that Obama will kill off the sick and elderly. If people actually paid attention, they would know that these bleeding hearts are rea to let you go if you arent working and paying taxes. they have lots of spending to do. Paying your doctor bills is not at the top of their list. More like - save the cockroaches!

If just a few read it and it opens their eyes then maybe they will do something about it. I have - I opened every website that gives you emails (just add your email address and it send the emails or you can print them and send them by mail) to all the senators, congressmen, etc for your state asking them NOT to vote for this bill. I think these same people do not really care about me personally but they are very concerned about not losing voters if they want to be re-elected.

Obama would sooner watch each and every American die than actually lift a finger to do bring reform to health care. Not only hasn't he written a single word towards that goal, but if any of the bills he's supported (without actually reading) actually end up providing any health care for anyone, it is purely by chance.

I think it is the scariest thing I have ever encountered and that it to know my government thinks I am worthless as a human being and the sooner I die the better!

I'd wager there is a LOT of stuff in that bill that we don't know about and their not going to tell anybody until it's too late. It's what, almost 2000 pages of gobbledygook and legalese that nobody can understand anyway unless you're a lawyer? I have to agree with Rollo too, Grayson had the unmitigated gall to say the Republican healthcare plan is for people to die quickly when in fact, it's the Democrat's very own plan that does it. Nice... Of course, letting the elderly die off fits right in with the "Progressive" plan for making the perfect society. Who wants to have those burdensome old, sick and disabled people hanging around and not contributing and indeed, just being a drain on society, right? I heard today that AARP is set to endorse the plan too. I guess they are really looking out for their membership, huh? Man, I just can't understand why anybody would think that ANYTHING being run by the government is a good thing. Then again, it doesn't matter what we think, the politicians seem to be hellbent on doing what they want, even though all the polls show the majority of the people are against it. Well, I'm going to keep emailing my senator and congressman to tell them I'm against it. I recommend you all do too. Email, write letters, call or whatever to bug the crap out of them and maybe wake them up.

I can remember the last time someone tried to make a perfect society or nation and that was Hitler. I also just heard on the news that AARP was endorsing the plan !!! traitors! I have been a member of AARP for years but NO longer. I will not renew my membership. I am also amazed at AMA (American Medical Association) also endorsing it as the doctors will also be the ones to suffer a big monetary loss if the Public Option comes into effect.

The American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network released a statement tonight that they're in favor of the House bill that passed tonight. If the waiting period you mention does exist in a version of a Senate Bill it will likely not survive the final reconciliation between the two bills. I agree, such a waiting period would be unacceptable and it's the very thing health care reform is meant to prevent from happening. Annei

That is crazy. Why would anyone especially someone dieing have to wait six months without insurance in order to get it? That's like saying, well if you can last this long we will will take our chance with you as well.. good luck.

This is just crazy. I'm not sure how many people are familiar with what pre existing is but I'm explain. If you start insurance with a private company currently and you have had a break in your coverage a 6 month to 1 year pre exisisting will added to your policy. This can be waived if you send them all your med records for the last year. They will not cover any illnesses that you came into their insurance with for the time of the pre exsisting. After that period is over they will cover it same as any other. Gee, doesn't that sound the same as "You may have to be unisured for six months to qualify". This is just another example of government hidding and wording this differently to get their way.
