What is something you own, that most people don't?

I have a pink flamingo lamp with neon green yarn for hair. Yep, it is as weird as it sounds. It's in my closet, not being used at the moment (at the time I bought it, I had a certain kind of "theme" room). That isn't something everyone owns. Something else I'd like to have that most people don't is a jukebox. That would be pretty cool (I used to watch Happy Days reruns on Nick at Nite, thus the jukebox thing). So what is something you own that most people wouldn't have? Is there something you'd like to have that most people wouldn't think about getting themselves?

A snowmobile is something that I own, that not too many people I know do! It's not that uncommon or anything, but I live in the city, where it's definitely illegal to go bilin' around town (unlike out in the country). I go about 3 times a year in a good year - when we have enough snow. I love snowmobiling!

Hubby grew up where snowmobile was an important part of getting around in the winter.

I have a Sheryl Crow Gibson Guitar. I think it's something most people don't have. I also have some antique jewelry that my Mom bought quite some time ago. What I'd like that most people don't have...hmm...well, it would have to be a property of some sort (land).

I'd say those are most definitely things most people don't have.

hi ambiepam the one thing that I own although it is in storage is a lava lamp. and I love the silly thing. I would love to live on an acreage so we could buy an old fashioned carousel with wooden horses all carved and oh so interesting and so antique like. it would be so much fun.

Hey Ambie! I kind of like the idea of the pink flamingo lamp with neon green yarn for hair! Sounds kinda cool to me! But, I like things that are "different"! Oh, and I love pink flamingos! They remind me of Florida! I try to find something with them on it when I go visit my Mom, but couldn't find anything at my price level (cheap) on my last trip!lol What would I have that most people wouldn't want? I used to have alot of brooms all over my walls which freaked out all my friends and when I had my apartment painted they all told me to get rid of them because they freaked them out! I also had a "witch" hanging in the kitchen that freaked them out too! I have always had a fascination toward all things pagan/wiccan, but when I would tell my friends it just made things worse!lol Now I am seriously exploring my feelings with a book that was recommended by a fellow mylotter so the brooms may just be returning....

I also collect flamingo things. I decided to do my kitchen in a flamingo theme this time, although it is a galley kitchen and very small. I have a couple of little flamingo figurines dressed in sunglasses and beach gear. My sister also got me a necklace of hot pink flamingos that I hung on the wall above my sink. It looks so cute.

I have a cat ornament collection and there is nothing unusual about that except for the two cats I have sitting on top of my TV. They are made of black painted wood and they look like cat silhouettes and the way they are placed on top of the TV they resemble two shadows. I’ve had them for years, I don’t recall where I got them from and I’m sure there are others in the world; I just don’t know anybody else with ‘kitty shadows’ on their television set!

Out in one of my sheds I have an antique door with stained glass. I rescued it from being thrown in the dump. It is not the right size for any door in my house.I daresay most people do not have one in their shed. I do not know of anything I want that most people would not want. Another shed, perhaps?

Ambie...this isn't fair! I am not so sure that I want to "out" myself, and let all myLot friends know that there really is a weird side to me! LOL! On the pink side, I have a rather large, plastic "lolling" pink pig, that watches over my Garlic Garden! But I would guess, to most of the people here, the fact that I own a coupla chain saws, a chop saw, a skill saw, a atile saw, more mechanical tools than a lot of men, lot's of carpenter tools, etc would seem a little off the beaten path for most women! I grew up a real tomboy..and just love working with my hands, building and making things. NOW, I've fessed up...I think if I thot for a moment, there would be a lot of other things..NOT common in common woman dominated households! How ya doing...sorry you are having bad days, too! Cheers!

Ambie...THANK YOU, so much dear friend! You have the inate way of just adding w whole sparkle to some-one's day...when they need it most! Not only did I lose two friends, and two acquaintances, yesterday at 4:10 in a Plane Crash..8 were aboard and 2 survived, (did not know the other two.) Phew! And the News...just had an alert to batten down the hatches, as the worst storm this season is heading our way by dusk tonite! We had two days of respite from storms, winds, power outs, massive flooding and here it comes again. What a Fall! The Gulf Islands, where I live, are serviced by Float Planes, for those that don't wish to rely on Ferries (they have hardly run for all of November due to winds)! Still reeling...trying to make sense of it all. So, Ambie, truly do appreciate the Best Response. I also, truly hope that you are mending! Cheers!

I had a lamp that was shaped like a big teardrop with a light in the middle of it....it was really cool but my little granddaughter accidently broke it....I also have a big tri fold screen....like a room divider which I painted with my roses etc...but beyond that I can't think of anything I would want that other people wouldn't have.

I thought about this for a couple of minutes (literally) and the only thing I can think of is that my husband and I own a boot nightlight. It's a boot that comes with a plug extension to put a bulb in. We use it as a nightlight! I am not sure how many people own something like this. Hmm other then that I'd like to own a leg lamp, for no other reason then they look kind of funny. I've seen them in movies!

What I own that most people don't is a novelty bank of Lindsay Wagner as The Bionic Woman back from the 1970's. I also own a vintage Andy Gibb doll I received as a gift from my aunt back in the 1970's.

what i think i own that majority of my colleagues don't have or can't access is my HI-FI system. this system is so rare to get and is not even available in most of the stores. i bought when i was in the college and it produces good sound that my friends are envy of it. i must be the lucky chap here.

I have a very old shotgun that my dad gave me before he passed away. It is very small. It is dated back in the 1800's. He gave all of his daughters one of them to keep for a remeberance of him.

a cat in every color? no really, hummmm, I have narrow shelves near the ceiling in my kitchen with mostly Breyer model horses on them... People walk into the kitchen, look around and say "someone likes horses" And, most of those horses I've had since I was a child... I would like a TARDIS at the house, tho space for one would be tough, but it would be SO COOL!

That lamp sounds like it would certainly brighten up any room. Better not let my girls see it, or they will want it for themselves. Pink is their 'most favourite of favourites' colour. Somewhere, I have several records, as in those old things that people probably use as frisbies these days. One is called Buzzo Bumble (kiwi's in their late 20/early 30's from Wellington will know what I am talking about), another is The Cabbage Patch Kids. Then there is The Smurf's All Star Show. Can't forget Anne Murray and her Hippo In The Bathtub album either. I doubt very much that many people have any of those, and probably not in as good condition as I have them.

I have an old portable black and white telly still...i would like to say i do have modern 40" flatscreen 32" flatscreen tv's also but i love the retro feeling of the old black and white ones, i have it in my bedroom and it looks smart in amongst all the modern & retro eccentric bits and bobs that i have collected so far.
