Has anyone here accidentally broken any of the MyLot rules? I'm still learning as I go...READ THE RULES....always helps. I don't think we each take the time to read threw ALL of the rules...at first anyway. It's kind of tempting and fun to just jump right in and start browsing and posting...this place is fun! I guess I could see how it can happen. So...... ever been in "trouble" here for breaking the rules?

It happens to everyone here once or twice for the duration of our stay in mylot. It is not intentional though but more to carelessness. The law is mylot guideline and though we have read and understood them well, the admin may come up with additional interpretation of their own law which we have no knowledge of. Discussions gets deleted as and when they feel that they have broken the law.

Yesterday, I was making a new discussion about the TV show Glee then also writing something about the movie Rent because they are both musical shows. When I was about to post my discussion, my page was redirected to FAQ with myLot policy. I was surprised since the composition is really mine. So I was thinking if I broke any rule which I'm not awared of, will it be something to do with copyright? How could that be? I'm just comparing two musical shows. I ended up not posting my discussion. Anyway I think I have seen that avatar of yours before, I think its in neobux LOL.

Not really gotten into trouble, but I did once before started a discussion discussing the number of posts I made and it was deleted. That wasn't allowed, in fact, any milestone discussions will be deleted..

Yup, I do realize that, because when I tried to retrieve back the discussion which was 2 days since I started, it wasn't there anymore. The message says the discussion has been deleted due to violation. So that's when I realized mine had been deleted.

I don't know, I am not really sure hehe. I don't monitor if some of my discussions were deleted or not. I hope I haven't hehe. I am kind of an OC person when it comes to rules.

I break the rules sometimes, often by accident, but sometimes especially if someone's being a bigot (I loathe bigots), I will yell at someone here along the lines of "YOU THINK WHAT? ARE YOU SERIOUS?" I think that if you do that kind of thing a lot you get banned, but I've never been in trouble for my occasional transgressions.

Yes, I did once break a myLot rule about 3 years ago when I was new here. I think it was only my 3rd discussion when I posted a referral link in my discussion and was shocked to see my discussions disappear the next day. I later realized that posting of referral links is against myLot rules. I also lost about 4c because of it. But I atleast came to know they implement their rules strictly. I made it a point to regularly check for any updates in the rules section so that I don't commit a mistake again. I guess we have to be careful. The funny thing though is that even today, a lot of new members keep posting ref links unaware of the consequences. Probably they'll learn it the hard way like me.

yes. A lot of new members want to post their links to try to make a buck... It seems everyone here tries to help each other out.

hi tidwell the only rules I as a pretty seasoned mylot break are the darned my lot emoticons rules, only three to a discussion. and I did that unintentionally and you dont get to keep them as mylot redlines it and you must delete one of the emoticons so you only have three. lol

The only rule I broke is posting about mylot earnings. I asked people about how much they earned in a day and that discussion was deleted. Now, as I am reminiscing, I find it so stupid to ask those LOL :D

yeah...at first sometimes, during the "newness" of the site, the posts can get dull...
