Last year I was lucky enough to have a boyfriend who paid for my ticket to visit my daughter and grandson in Los Angeles. It was my Christmas gift and I adored him for doing that for me. This year neither of us is doing well enough financially to be able for me to visit her again so I guess I'm not going to be going anywhere. I'm hoping the next couple of years get a little better because I would love to visit them again. Have your traveling plans changed in the last couple of years? Do you have family in a state that is too far to drive too? Do you have any travel plans pending?

I'm not much of a traveller but last Christmas we went to the big city and had a grand time there. It was my first ever real vacation as I get to forget about everything there and do nothing but enjoy life and laugh a lot. I will always treasure the past Christmas as we bonded with my entire family and it was so great enjoying the pleasures of life with family. I hope I can have more of that trip.

Travel is one of my top hobbies and although traveling is more challenging I still have to go off traveling whenever it is possible. I traveled on a few trips a year from 2000 to 2006. Then my disabled child was born in 2007. In 2004 I got my first dog and in 2006 I got my second dog. In 2009 I had my baby daughter. From 2007 to 2009 I went on just one trip a year. I went to Portugal in 2007, to Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia in 2008 and in 2009 I went to South Africa. I did wonder if I would be able to afford to go Canada in 2010. So I bought my airline ticket in December 2009 and so I will be able to save more spending money for my trip. I get my mom to care for my dogs when I go off traveling. I am so very grateful to her. With a double buggy I know my next trip will be challenging at the airport in particular.

Hello, I always drive around with my car to visit place to place... I dont really fly that much. If I do, then I want to go to Hawaii. I used to live there before and want to visit there again. Another thing, I have small children and it is hard to go on vacation. I just went to Las Vegas and spent too much money already so I will not take any vacation until summer time.

About the same really as before. That is to say, I am not traveling that much at all. In fact, I'm struggling to remember the last time I did travel. Just never had the need to really. Which is fine, it saves a lot of money to not travel. Its just never been my thing. However, I think if I did travel, I would be doing it a lot less because of the recession.

I've travelled about the same as before. My next plans are Helsinki in the end of February and Riga in April. Then maybe Vienna in May, Iceland in the summer and if I suddenly get rich I'll be going to Australia in the end of August to go to a conference and visit a friend.

ctrymuziklvr hi long time no see hatley here.because of the recession and my son losing his job, and us getting evicted and homeless, and me having to be here so I wouldnt endup on the street,I am in a retirement center, my rent is paid for out of my social security and SsI checks, leaving me some money for my personal needs and my son got into gov.sponsored housing with three other men ,they are all out of wo rk, and seeking jobs.he is close enough he c an come see me each week. so no plans on traveling for a long time, right now a job and Accumulating money and getting back into an apartment we could call home would be luxury for me.

Hi, there! Normally, my hubby and I would travel two to three times per year, but due to financial situation, we have only traveled once last year. We are always on the look out for cheaper air fares or promotions, and we managed to pre-book two trips on this coming March and September. Usually, we would drive back to my parents' villages, but the journey will only takes about forty five to an hour drive. So, that is not far enough, but I have a younger sis who lives in another state that we have to take another flight just to visit her, which is not often as she's the one who will fly back home especially during Christmas.

I wish people would start to travel more, like before. I work in an industry dependent on people travelling. The recession, and the subsequent reluctance of people to travel has affected the company I work for. Meaning layoffs and salary reductions. I'm still lucky that I still have my job. The only travel plans I have currently is for work. At least I still get to go different places.

I have just arrived from an International travel. I am planning to visit Alaska on summer (June-July). I still have savings for that. As long as I am still working with health Insurance, I am still okay. Summer vacation in school means I have no work so I will just spend my time in another place for a change and to refresh from work's stress.

Since my fiance is from Perth Oz, he has to fly to the Philippines every month since August so we'll meet. What we do then is not to travel much within the Phils but visit nearby places from his arrival city. When he got a ticket Singapore to Cebu, we met in Cebu then so he doesn't need to hop from cities to cities. But definitely since we both love beaches, we visited beautiful beaches which can just be reached thru fast ferries, that's to save the cost of airfares. I think most importantly, if you have good savings before, which means you are less affected by the recession, you can still go on with your plans especially to travels. And one thing I have learned so much and a good lesson from it, NEVER LOAN / LEND ANY MONEY for travel/vacation cause (which is the most mistake people do).
