New myLot email notifications / myLot

Yesterday I posted a discussion regarding the illegible format I was receiving my email notifications. Ask Alice responded that myLot was aware of the problem and wow!!!! today it is fixed. I really like to new format as now you do not have to go straight to the response box but can go directly to the discussion this is a great help. Now I do not have to go the the response box, find the originators profile, check their new discussions to find the one I was notified about when I wanted to see the photos that was sometimes being referred to or read other responses before posting my own response (a guideline no-no).

I love it! I've wanted the discussions to be in this format since I joined. It always seemed like discussions were in a big, long paragraph because the notifications didn't make any distinctions in how mylotters wrote their posts. This is the best thing I've seen mylot do in a while. Well, besides doubling our money on December 23rd.

Hi Heather. I think it's great, at least when it comes pictures posted, if there is indeed one posted. As far as the guideline no-no you mentioned, "they are not hard and fast rules" (quoted from GoAskAlice herself). So it's not like we are breaking the rules if we respond to discussions without reading all of the responses first. Good thing too, because I'm always going against this guideline!

Now we just need the guidelines to be updated. Maybe then it'll finally put an end to some of the confusion around here !

Hello, Its great to know your problem is solved. There are still many things that need to be changed on here, we had a discussion where i asked whether adding a "Next discussion" button just above every discussion would be helpful, just as it is in yahoo answers, it saves time and also according to me gets us interested in stuff we dint know. Also that would help those poor un responded questions get light upon Have a nice day

I did see that Alice had responded to your discussion yesterday and I am impressed that Alice & My Lot are taking quick action for various problems. But to be honest, I have noticed anything different at all to what I do. Everything seems the same. Im not even sure what you are talking about. I will look at other responses to your discussion.

Wonderful!! I just now noticed this and would not have had you not made a post about it. Thanks! I am usually on autopilot. I really like this. So many times I repeated what others said and now I can read the whole thing! Alice is very efficient!

I've noticed they seemed to be very prompt about that. Though I still had to search for my comment though it didn't take nearly as long. Alice is doing her best to fix things around here. That's for sure. Not like most sites that barely pay attention.

I love it. I am glad they did it. It definitely makes sense. Now if they would just let us add tags and interests on the response page.

I had not had any problems with the previous notifications, but it was a nuisance about the pictures especially. I would post my response, and say something to the effect that as soon as I posted my response, then I would look at the picture. It discouraged me from looking at the pictures. It is nice.

I am glad they fixed it too. It was really annoying the way it was before. I love the option of going directly to the discussion. Sometimes under interests people post "how did you like the show?" and since we couldn't go directly to the discussion, we never knew what show or book they were referring to. LOL Now that it's fixed, it's great!

They listened to us!

The new notifiers are just what we asked for and we can now reach the new discussion so much quicker and NOW we can do what the Guidelines ask of us and read all the responses before posting our own even if we reply from our email

If they are going to make all the improvements that we asked for then WOOOW things are going to be really great soon!

I like going to the discussion first. I started getting that on about half the discussion a few weeks ago.

I am just glad to be getting email notifications again for a long time they didnt work right but that seems to be getting better now

Hiya whiteheather, New format seems to be much better than before and make it easier if you are trying to answer a lot of responses you can usually do it more quickly now barring the Adsl speed you might have like I have got which is slower than slow oh well never mind eh?
