With total control of the government - President, House and Senate - it seems that the new talking points are that it is the Republicans who are to blame for things not getting done. Can some of you supporters of President Obama please explain how it is the Republicans fault for things not getting done?

I can. See, during the Bush years he spent money that we never had on programs that he never funded. See, we use to have a program called PayGo, which forced you to pay for every dollar in spending, with a dollar to income so the deficit wouldn't grow. Bush hated this idea, and he had a huge problem when it came to the wars that he need to get a second term. If you listen to economist talk about they will explain how we got here. Remember, that Bush repression started in 2008, not 2009. What happened in 2008 didn't just happen one day, it built up over years. Any more questions?

Fiscal 2006 the economy was doing well. Fiscal 2007 the economy was in trouble. Democrats took control of Congress at the end of Fiscal 2006. Congress control the Budget and appropriations. Any Questions?

Look at the numbers from 2007 on... they tell an even better story. Stop trying to blame the republicans for the democrats failed policies. Even when the republicans were in power, they did not have a filibuster proof majority. Although there is no doubt that the republicans strayed from their conservative roots, their spending does not even come close to the spending binge that the current lack of administration is doing. Any more questions?

Look at spending from 2004 to 2006 when republicans controlled the government. The numbers don't lie, even if you wish they did!!!

The incompetent always try to blame others for their own failings. 0bama is a moron. Reagan had to deal with much greater inherited problems, he had to deal with a democrat Congress, and he managed to do all the great things that he accomplished by communicated and convincing them of his position and the things that needed to be done... and he succeeded. Reagan will forever be known as the Great Communicator. 0bama will be known as the worst president in history, as well as the first illegally elected foreign born ineligible fraud to make it that far. 0bama is even worse than Carter, and that is saying a lot.

In the case of our former president Bush: I would agree with you 10000%. Reagan didn't have to deal with the largest deficit in our nations history, and the worse economy in 70 years. Those are FACTS, not propaganda. The reason Reagan was able to do what he did was because he was able to compromise with EVERYONE, and Reagan didn't have the same political climate that we have today. Could you imagine if a republican worked with a democrat today? Both would lose their job, even if they solved all of the worlds problems. Obama has a long way to go till he reaches George W Bush level of incompetence, and stand at the top of the worse leader in the WORLD. Bush took a budget surplus, a Social Security surplus, and a medicare surplus, and the best economy the country had seen in decades. When he left the country was on the verge of total economic collapse, and record deficits. Find me another president that has screwed the country worse than this using FACTS, not your opinion.

"When he left the country was on the verge of total economic collapse, and record deficits. Find me another president that has screwed the country worse than this using FACTS, not your opinion." Debater, why do you keep saying it's all Bush's fault? Have you forgotten about the House and Senate? You do realize that most of those morons in the house and senate responsible for what happened the last 8 years, especially the last 2 years of Bush's presidency are still there don't you?

Perhaps you forgot the Democrat bill "No Child Left Behind" that President Bush worked with Democrats to get it passed. When problems with the program started it suddenly became President Bush's program. When President Bush wanted to investigate Fannie and Fredie it was Congressman Frank who attacked the messenger and publicly stated that the F & F were sound and doing a great job. It was the Democrats who blocked Bush's attempts to reform the two. When the crisis hit at the end of Bush's administration and Congress (Democrat Controlled) passed the Bail Out program that President Elect Obama wanted. Working with the PE Bush started to appropriate the money. President Bush worked with PE Obama to spend the money. President Obama thanked him by blaming him for all the problems. The last two years of his administration were spent with a Democrat Congress who fought him all the time.

Simply put - because it CLEARLY can not be the fault of the policy makers of the last three years. George Bush is a Republican so there fore Republicans are guilty by association. I do have to give credit where it is due, their imagination is wonderful. My favorite was Brown getting elected was Bush's fault.

Do you really expect the House and Senate majority party to actually accept the fault for anything? They're an incompetent band of fools, and politicians tend to be these days. They're trying to pin any lack of progression by accusing the Republicans of blocking everything and voting party affiliation for the sake of it. Unless it was a budget bill they had the voting power to get things done. That, and they tend to be blind to the fact that they vote the same way as well.

For the first year the blame the Reps because Obama says it is left over politics. Now they blame the Reps because they lost one senate seat. It will never stop. Dems will never take ownership for their mistakes.

It seems to me that the recession of 2001 was blamed on 9/11.

Team, do you remember 2001 to 2005? EVERYTHING was Clinton's fault. Who did you say "never take ownership for their mistakes"? By the way, when was the last time you heard Bush take responsibility for the worse economy this country has seen in 70 years?

Being a Realtor, I most certainly do remember 2001 until 2005. It was the greatest real estate boom of my career. Did you forget those years.
