My cat - my cat looking at laptop screen

My cat is anywhere to find as long as I am not on my laptop. Once I open my laptop, cat is right here sitting always on the left site, or my left arm, looking into computer screen. She keeps looking as long as she falls asleep. (picture just taken) Do you know any cat having computer dependency?

well, polachicago, that reminds me of a short story written by edgar allan poe. it's one falling the genre of mystery... a monkey learned to use the typewriter (no computers yet then) and began writing words... then you should read the story to known happened... regrettably, i forgot the title of the short story...

Monkey can do much more. So do cats. Did you see the piano cat? My cat loves computers and using my body as a pillow at night....

yes, Russian did... Animals are very smart, differential that we are, but they have something that we lost...perfect vision, perfect smell...and they can read our mind...

yup, polachicago. i think i've seen that somewhere, just can't place it. you know, any living thing that has a functioning brain can be taught a trick or two... cats and dogs, also monkeys, have more developed brains than other animals... remember, one monkey was even sent out to the outerspace, many years ago... i forgot the name, but i think it was the russians who did it...

Well, I try to keep the cats away from mine, and besides, there's no place on the desk for them to sit!

My 7 month old kitten will sit and watch the computer screen and try and catch the cursor, but he's just being "kitten curious" My other cats pay no attention to it, though they did like to get up on top of the monitor and lie there in the warmth wafting up from it. But since I upgraded from a CRT to a flat screen monitor, they can't do that - there's nowhere for them to lie!

Cat on monitor - Does this position make my rear look big?
Unfortunately I had no choice in the matter of upgrading. I got a new computer, and I found that the old CRT monitor would not work with it because the CRT monitor took it's power via the tower, but the new computer did not allow for that.

LOL--nope my two kitties don't seem to have the slightest interest in my computer save for if I'm watching a video at Youtube and it involves a cat or kitten and it's meowing, then they'll look up at the screen to see where the other cat is coming from--the only thing they seem to be dependent on is sleeping on my bed.

I sleep on my stomach so Pyewacket likes to sprawl and lie on my back. And yes, why do our kitties feel like they weight 200 lbs.??

Hi pola, maybe your cat is studying how to type! Are you sure it doesn't have a facebook page, and gets on when you go to bed?

I believe your cat likes to watch television that is why it wants to see your laptop. Cats are curious about seeing different colors. My cat always likes to stay in front of the television. They fall asleep listening to mellow song. I feel happy to see them together with me watching. They are curious too.

My cat doesn't look at the computer, but wants to be in my arms and will mess with the keyboard when I'm online. I do have a videotape that he likes on tv. It has birds on it. Unless there are birds or mice, neither cat is going to pay attention very long. Surprised you cat does. Just gave the cat picture a plus. Take care

Every morning when I get on my computer, Blackstone is right here on my lap. I guess you could say he is my "lap-top". He'll even meow at me before he jumps on my lap, as if he's upset that I didn't call him. I can't really say its a computer thing, but it seems he could be telling me, "I'm more important than the computer", kind of like my girlfriend does. "Put the computer away and pay attention to me". It seems cats may be smarter than we think and smarter than they want us to know.

My youngest cat (a kitten) loves to do that too. She watches the cursor on the screen and sometimes tries to chase it around. She watches until she gets tired of it, then climbs into my lap while I'm at the computer and wants love and attention. Sometimes she just falls asleep. The two older cats are not at all interested in the screen, but one of them comes and gets on the desk right in front of me and just lies there, waiting for attention.

I think cat's just like to be where their owners are going to be for a while. My cat, Shadow, is like that too. I spend most of my time after work on the internet because I am a freelance Internet Marketer and Writer and so my cat plops down right here next to me, in the same spot, every day. He got in the habit when I worked at home as a Customer Service rep for Cloud10 so I would have to be locked in this room all day. If he really wants my attention, he will make sure to sit on my mouse & hand so I have to pet him and then pick him up to move him, in which he gets aggravated. Also, my cats and dogs both sit on my newspaper if I put it out on the floor they want to sit right on top of it. I don't know why? So my cat Shadow...I gave him that name because he always follows me and also because he is a dark charcoal grey color...seemed very fitting!

L.O.L. Every time I get on the computer my cat always jumps up here like I am not paying attention to her and doesn't want me to do anything but give her attention. And same goes for the other 2 male cats.

Hi pola, how are you, for me i think you got a loyal cat and enlighten one that has come to understand that there is knowledge out there to be learnt, your cat also recognizes that we are in a more technological era, its might also be the fact that it like to stare into pictures displayed on a screen, just watch it properly i bet when you watching tv, your cat is there too watching...

How sweet! My cat loves to lay in my lap while I am on the puter. And he is likes to eat...a lot! So when I get up from anywhere he immediately goes to his food bowl to look at me as if to feed him regardless if he has food in there or not.
