I do trust cops they help serve and protect us when we need it. They actually havd a very dangerous job wheather anyone wants to believe it or not. They don't turn people in because the want to but because they have to. The reason being that it is their job. They have to do things they don't want to do. There are some crazy people out there and they have to be very carful because they never know who they might run into. That's why they have carry a gun and stuff like that. I have to say that there are some cops that are not no honest but not everyone in the world is. I do have to say they do try to keep the crime rate down which is a pluse. Without cops around the world would be more of a mess!

Too bad that this world still really needs cops as the law enforcer, and I mean by using force most of the time. But well, what do you expect from people's minds and situations nowadays? We do need cops.

No, I don't trust no one with a badge but I do think that they play an important role in our everyday lives. By the way I wanted to be a cop when I was growing-up. ......

hi tuckersheri oh yes indeed as i have never had any but very pleasant relations with them. Once when the steering mechanism on our old car broke and we were at the head of a right turn lane these two police offices bodily pushed us around the corner in heavy mid afternoon traffic to a service station. and did it with good humor and teasing one other about whether or not their life insurances had been paid up or not. I have been lost in a strange city and had a police officer show me how to get to where I needed to go. all just helpful incidents that gave me a good feeling about police officers.

Hatley my dear I'm in shock. You have an avatar. See what I've been missing. I see you've been telling off Colin / Clorissa above, I'm shocked that she /he's been having problems with the policemen as she used to date them regularly.

Hi, tuckersheri. Yes, I do trust them to a certain extent. We have some bad people in this world and I don't trust what others do. Cops are always there when we need them. They don't tolerate anyone threatening you either!! And we have some devious cops that are dirty as the dirt on the ground. We just have to be very careful about this. It is true that cops are made to serve and to protect. But they should just do their jobs and nothing else. I would hate to see a cop and think that he/she is going to protect me when in fact they come to hurt or kill me. Or even someone else for that matter. I hope that good cops will prevail and always do their best to protect society. They have a serious job to do. Crime will never cease but we as citizens can do our best in making sure that we speak up about any crimes. I agree, what would the world be like without cops??? A very dangerous and sad world!!

See in this world there are 2 types of people 1= Good man 2= Bad man You will find these types of people in every country, every religion, I mean every where around you.... So to say that do we TRUST on cops would be contradictory, as you will find good cops and bad caps as well...... I am sure people will agree with me .... We the society have made OUR mentality that all COPS are not good and we cant trust them, mate they are also humans, they also have kids and wife and even they have mom dad brothers sisters and each and everything which you and we have.... I come from India, And I do TRUST COPS of my country... they are really corrupt but its not them, its we who made them like this. Cheers

I work with cops being the medic of the SWAT unit. I do agree that there are good and there are bad. It is sad to note that when one sees a bad cop, it always brings down the image of the rest.

I agree, they do have a very difficult and important job to perform and I am grateful for their services. As for trust I think that is earned by a an individual person and not by their job title. I don't really trust anyone unless I know them, but in a dangerous situation I would trust the police to help me get through it.

I do. I believe 99.999% of them out there are good, and do what they do well. Every once in a while there may be some with problems, but the vast majority of them are good at their jobs, and trustworthy. They are very important, and I trust them.

I think that cops or police officers have a very difficult job to do and they should be admired and given the respect that they deserve. However, from time to time you will hear of a police officer that has gone against the rules and broken the law in some way and they have really abused their position, they should be punished and sacked! I certainly am glad that we have a police force in operation. I think when you hear things like police corruption, this really upsets the apple cart as it were. I will always give every officer the benefit of the doubt that he or she is honest and genuine until proven otherwise. Andrew

As far as I am concerned, I usually trust the cops who usually help the people when they are in need of help. But sometimes, I will hate the cops ,for some of the cops will cheat the people and charge them for so large of money.I hate the kind of cops. I think the just need to help people when they are requiring . It is the duty of the cops.

Hi tuckersheri, One morning, instead of pressing the button for Memo 1 (in order to greet a friend on her birthday and whose number happened to be busy, I pressed the button for Auto 1, which actually was 911. In a New York minute, two cops were outside my door. Having been unaware of my mistake, I asked for ID, cause mind you, there are people who pose as cops with the intention of robbing you. I told them that I didn't call for cops. "Yes, we got a call from your number." This was early in the morning, I hadn't brushed my teeth, washed my face nor made the bed. I felt embarassed with this situation that I didn't even think of offering them a cup of coffee. With their flashlights, they checked every nook and cranny of my little studio apartment. They were very nice. Before they left they told me that if there is any problem, I shouldn't hesitate to call. After this incident, I wrote a letter and went to their office in Reseda. The purpose was to thank the LAPD in general and the cops who speedily came, in particular. Those cops were not there at that time and I had to speak to one of their superiors. This guy asked me, "May we have your permission to publish your letter in our weekly bulletin. A letter of appreciation is more of an exception rather than the rule here. Everyday, we get letters of complaints and demands." Yes, I trust the good cops. We need them to maintain peace and order in our community and assist us in emergencies. While it is true that their are bad cops, guilty of unthinkable crimes, just as there are bad doctors, who would perform exploratory laparotomy for no reason other than money, let us think of those who risk their lives for us.

Personally I have had a bit of my experience with cops.In my home country the cops are really smart and corrupt. They know what you have been upto by their experience.Don't ever lie to a cop, tell them the truth. If they ask "have been drinking?".Then tell them yes i have been drinking but just a few drinks. They will automatically start being frank with you.If you tell a lie, they will catch you immediately because of the experience they have had over the years. They will become all hostile with you. The cops join the force to serve and protect, but we all know they are just there to put food on the table.I personally do not trust the police at all as i trust no one,but i do fear them.lol.But the matter of fact is that if there was no police in the world, the world would of been a mess.Truly said tuckersheri.

Yes for the most part there are good cops out there that you can trust. However, there are some you can't for a minute. Some walk around thinking they have the power to do whatever they want and they let it go to their heads. I think this happens with the younger cops more so. The older ones that have been around for awhile you can trust I think alot more. At least that is how I feel.

Yeah I am trusting cops. I believe they are the people to save us and our properties at any time. All the baddies are in control only because of the cops. And if the cops are not there in place then baddies from each one of us will come outside and spoil the world. Also we have to accept that there are some black sheeps in the cops because of which the cops are loosing their respect.

hello tuckersheri, in general, i trust cop that they can serve and protect us. i think they are public servant for citizen so if we don't trust them to whom we should trust to provide security? i think in different country have different habit in our cops. however, in common, they have a lot of similarity. sometimes, i hate cops who don't work professionally to serve public or take advantages from their jobs. this is reason, why i hate bad cops.
