All you cat experts and cat lovers out there, i need some advice. i was up until 3am today after i noticed my cat vomiting and pooping i was working late editing my current client's book, and i finished at around 1am today. and so when i turned off my PC and got up to make sure the doors are locked, i went over to may cat's corner near the toilet and that's when i saw the mess. my cat is a very pampered housecat, and she mostly stays inside the house (she loves staying indoors). She's only taken out when my nephew comes over (for her own safety, my nephew drives her crazy). Anyway, she's generally a very clean cat, she poops and pees in the bathroom, given a bath every other day, and eats only blanched fish and drinks milk and water. So i was alarmed when i saw that her poop looked like mud this morning. And she had vomited everything that she had eaten. So i cleaned it all up and made sure that she wasnt vomiting anymore before i went to bed. So what do you guys think? Vomiting and pooping. Is my cat sick? Or am i just overreacting?

Rather take her to the Vet. I don,t like the sound of the muddy poop colour. Just to be on the safe side. TATA.

jjguiroz7 yes when I had a cat if she vomited thats not a good sign so I was off to the vet, It could be caused by anything but the vet will be able to tell you what s wrong and hopefully fix her all up so she will be frisky as ever really soon.

You need to see a vet. My cat had a problem with the runs awhile ago and then he started losing weight. He dropped from 18 pounds to 12 pounds while my vet ran every test in creation. He had IBS (irritable bowel syndrome)which is hard to diagnose. He got steriods for about a month and a half and then was put on a special diet. It turns out that commercial cat foods aren't all that good for cats. Also too much fish can cause problems and grown cats don't require milk. My cat only eats Natures Variety dry food and poached chicken. He's doing very well. Weighs about 16 pounds and has normal feces. My cat's disease was difficult to diagnose. The vet had to run a stools test, blood tests, xRays and even an MRI. However, it's sometimes enough to just test the cat's stools. A little messy for the poor owner who has to collect it but relatively simple to analize for some problems. In all cases early diagnoses is key. Good luck.

You need to give your cat cat food too. Cat food is nutritionally balanced for their dietary needs. Give her both dry and wet food as they both contain different supplements. Also cut down on the amount of milk she gets. Too much milk can cause major problems with her insides, including stones etc. Also, I have read many times that giving a cat a bath too often isn't good for them. I have been told to only bathe the cat when they are so dirty that they can't get all the dirt off by themselves. I don't live by that rule. I had a Siamese that had flea problems and I would bathe him once or twice a month. Although I would have to beat him to my bath! LOL!!! I would definitely take the cat to the vet ASAP. Cats get so sick so quickly and it is mandatory that they get medical help immediately. I know because I have had to take three of my cats in to the vet on an emergency basis...to the tune of over $700! (OUCH!) That occurred within three months... Make sure that she also gets lots of water to drink. It helps keep her system flushed out. The dry food also keeps her teeth clean and free of plaque and gum problems. I hope she is doing better. Please PLEASE keep us informed about your baby's health. We all care so much about each other's furry critters and miss getting informed about how they are doing. It's kind of like my daffy boy Khuay...I have another post to do about his experience with catnip.

Sounds like your cat will be fine. Though I'd start giving her cat food, actual cat food. Living off of human food isn't good for them. Once and a while treats are okay, but not everyday food. Keep an eye on her and watch her milk intake. What she doesn't drink right away needs to be refergated because just like us, cats can give themselves food poisining from milk that's trying to spoil.

To start with, don't give her milk. Adult cats can't easily digest milk and it tends to cause diorreha (sp) which is what she has got by the sound of it. As for the vomiting, cats do this and it does not necessarily mean that they are sick, a fur ball can cause them to do it for example, or maybe the food that you gave was not fresh. If she's eating normally now, I'ts likely that there's nothing wrong, but just to be on the safe side, take her to the vet for a check over.

O, poor kitty. I would get her in the vets office as soon as possible. What kind of milk do you give your cat? If it is not specifically for cats, perhaps you should not give her the milk. I read that Cats are lactose intolerant and may develop some problems from ingesting milk. Ask your vet about it. I hope your little friend feels better soon and most certainly I pray it is not a serious illness. Blessings to you and your furball friend.
