Money money money, is that all that MyLot stands for?

I just read a discussion asking that we make mylot a place with tutorials for making online money, tips, and tutorials etc etc. I ask you fellow
mylotters is that really all mylot is for a g uidebook to other sites for making money ? I thought it was a place to have fun, and enjoy discussing all sorts of issues and problem.Mind you I know we all need money but to turn mylot into some sort of guidebook for online money making, do we really want that? I kind of thought mylot is unique in that it does not focus entirely on just making money. your take please.

I think mylot should stand on neutral platform to accommodate all types of people with diversified interests. Leaning more towards money making alone may not be of interest to some quarters who are here for casual discussions and for the purpose of fostering international friendships. Let us not divert from the original intention of this site ie discussing topics from all interests.

Zandi, you said a mouthful and it is very good. We need to accommodate all. There is room for money, religion, politics, pets, food and gardening. Gimmicky discussions just to get people stirred up or pulled in are not fun. There are specific sites for all of those other things, but we can converse and learn about many, if we keep our minds to it.

just another place telling people what sites to go to to make money
I thought mylot is unique and is for making discussions on any darned
thing we wish to discuss not just about making money, but open to all ideas, there are many other things we want to discuss too. I am not]
saying we are not going to discuss all topics, just saying do not make mylot just another facebook or a place only for tutorials, keep mylot just the w ay it is.We are open to all ideas otherwise the person wantin to change mylot would not have been free to talk about it, I am just saying a lot of us like mylot just as it is, no more changes.

Zandi did make a great point,we do need to accomodate all of us, and thats really what makes my lot enjoyable.also we do not disrespect each other because we are most of us from vastly different cultures and countries.I love that about my lot. Zandi usually does make terrifically
good sense,I am not trying to embarrass her either.I have learned so much

Hi Hatley,
I'm jumping on your band wagon. Mylot to me is the land of Hope and inspiration. It's a place to meet genuine and very sincere people. People that will become some of the closest people in your life if you let them. When your life seems to be falling apart all around you, come to mylot and we will be there to surround you with love help in whatever way you need.
Yes, there are people around that will be there to give you money advice but the money you earn here cannot compare to the value of the people you will meet. Am I right Hatley?

meet as I c annot afford to travel aboard. its the people here that make
mylot for me a place , a refuge, a haven when I need to relax or as my son would put it chill out.so hip hurray for my lot.

Hatley, I get really tired of people who want to change MyLot into something other than what it is, or want to remodel it to suit themselves. I feel like MyLot is pretty successful the way it is now. Yes, sometimes some things need improving, but we saw that Alice helped with that. I figure when someone else has the money to pay someone to make money on this site, then they can go set up whatever site they want, away from here. Leave my MyLot alone.

Problem is that many people especially new once few mylot as PTP.
Because mylot pays for every post we made. And complain of low cashout per post.
But what they don't know and realise is that mylot does not want to be associated as an PTP. But rather as a social site.
I think new members must educate themself the essence of mylot itself.

My thoughts too!
Over the last few months something is changing here and now the fun is becoming less obvious and the emphasis is all turning towards earning online in one form or another. A sign of the times maybe but what so many Lotters, especially the newer ones, seem to misunderstand is that myLot is for discussions
There are already other sites filled with pages and pages of tutorials.
There are sites where you can go and exchange your referral links too.
MyLot is unique and it is up to the users to keep it that way and not turn into something that it was not intended for

I find I am starting a few more discussions, just from the point of view of putting more up to discuss. I learned a long time ago that if we all only respond, soon there is nothing interesting to discuss, but I often go a very long time without posting discussions. I guess I will have to do more to keep the place from becoming one sided.

hi gardengerty I have been doing a little more discussion making lately too as usually I just respond a lot,so yes we do need to keep some fresh discussions moving. I so often get an idea from something someone else has posted,at times I get irritated and need to spit it out I guess. but I have learned not to make so many I cannot get back to comment on them,. I noticed one mylot here lately filled my email box up with discussions he made every six minutes and I am not joking as there was a time after each one. He really must have made fifteen or twenty in just a short period of time. I could not think up that many discussions that quickly.

and most of us like it just as it is. there are already all
sorts of sites just for making money or guiding one to go
to other places to make money. we need to keep mylot just the
way it is. yes mylot is for discussions so we need to keep it

I think the best way to learn your english skills is by watching t.v. or movies.
Then emitate them. Its the best way to study english and how to pronounce it.
Sometimes. Writing alone can't help you improve your english.
Because your not using your tongue.
Your just using your hands to speak.
And the pronouncition is important also to be practice.
But try to read what you type loud.
So that you can hear what your trying to say.
..
Also read dictionary.
Its really help.

help you to learn English better I think English is one of the most
difficult languages to learn as we have so many words with more than one meaning. and llsling hi welcome to mylot and hopefully we willhelp you to learn English better. it is a very difficult language to learn for one not born here.so good luck and God bless.

People want this so they can get the Referrals, personally Mylot is great the way it is and I do not think they will go for anything like that, as you say mylot is unique because of what it is

hi gabs oh yes I should know by now,its just surprising how fixated some people are on money as if nothing else matters. just so they do not change our mylot, I likeit as it is unique and I can relax when I come here and any worries just drift away as I start having fun and listening to others, and maybe helping occasionally too.

hi zurijak well for me I have a big advantage over all the wor king people as I am elderly and retired, so I have oodles of time and little money so I love to mylot inside of being another couch potato sitting down stairs watching cheesy sit coms on the boob tube.

I don't want myLot to become a site for making money only. I want myLot to be what it is...an opportunity to discuss all kinds of topics just like you describe.

orang we most all of u s start here becase we need money then we all find mylot is much more. the eanings are great but like frosting on the cake

I do see that there are a lot of people that seem to think that mylot is only about making money. However, I definitely think that mylot is something that is much greater than making money. Mylot has given me back a piece of my life that I had given up when I decided to be a stay at home mother. That said, I would say that the majority of people that are active on this site are those that don't really think that mylot is all about making money.

Mylot is a platform to interact with peoples, share thoughts, their views, suggestions, our queries, solutions etc. its true its a kind of guidebook we can say that also for making online money. but today most of people do their work for sake of money. either they take money and do their work or do their work and get money....

years here and the fact that most of them are not from my own country
'the USA Thus I get to know people from all over through mylot
and I wou ld never have met as I cannot afford to travel abroad.

No myLot should not be turned into a venue for money making tutorials. There are plenty of those online (free or pay) already. Furthermore, any money making discussions should only be posted in "making money online" or any other money related interest.

Hi Hatley. I have always liked mylot just the way it is. So many diverse topics to choose from. From the day I joined mylot, I have always treated it as a bit of fun and a way of interacting with others and not just a way of earning a bit of money. I think if mylot ever changed to just a money making guidebook, I would leave for good
The money making interests are there for just that for guiding people to make extra money if they so wish and there is no need for mylot to be become primarily a way to make money site. Unfortunately the money making interests are mostly abused by the spammers. Even the discussions such as "How can I earn extra money" just invite spam.
So I fully agree with you. Let us all just keep mylot for fun and friends

You have brought out a great post.
I too was always wondering, why that majority of people who come here, always talk about only money.
We keep talking about money, throughout the day, and again going through the same even in my lot sometimes gets me on my nerves.
It is really sad, that such a great site like my lot is NOT looked as a site which develops your knowledge but as a money making machine.
Come on, mylotters, we are here to have fun, gain knowledge.
Do not fret, money will come automatically.

As far as I am concerned, I think mylot is a very nice plce for you log in everyday to enjoy my daily life. For me, I think mylot is not only a very good place to earn some extra money, but also a very good place for me to learn some knowledge. With the help of mylot, I think my English writing is progressing day by day. I am looking forward to seeing more progress here.

I seen and responded to the discussion you are referring to. I mentioned that we have plenty of informative discussions on the subject of money...everything from blogging tips to how to get referrals...new members just need to use the MyLot search bar to locate them.
I honestly thought he just meant the money making interests....
I can't imagine making MyLot all about money....it would totally ruin it

I was just thinking of posting a discussion regarding this matter. But in my tour of discussion I stared towards your discussion. This is a very valid question that is money is everything. In this modern era materialistic concept seems that the final target of human is money. But is really money is everything. We the people now try to calculate everything with materialistic vale. Can everything in human life be calculated with money. Nowadays people like to treat life like a balance sheet. But life is not a business and the life can't be calculated with profit and loss account. Life is above of matter. Obstruct and ethical values are also added with life. It is right we need mater to live the life. We need money too. But money is not everything. What we get here in mylot can't be measured with money. We can buy satisfaction with money, we can't buy happiness with money. These are state of mind. So what we get here is more valuable that money , so we are here.

aaleexix This is a great response. Yes we have become so materialistic
and although we need money to buy food, pay rent etc. we also need
things that cannot be measured in terms of money. friendship, sharing, caring, keeping in touch with all my friends across many borders to
me these are more valuable and cannot be measured by money's worth.
Mylot give me enjoyment, happiness, and a way to learn from other people's culture. So many of us here in the US cannot afford to travel abroad but with a touch of our fingers on our keyboard we can talk to friends from all over the world and share our samenesses and our differences too.

If we measure life in terms of money then we have to leave so many things in life. Money is needed to facilitated the life but money is not life. Money is needs. Like other needs money is also just one needs of life. We use money. But now extreme materialism makes us slave of money. People start to measure life only with money. But we need a second thought on this abnormality of human civilization. The question should be asked ourselves .... is really money is everything. No one can deny the necessity of money But we should keep control on money. But judging from the present mentality of modern human civilization it is likely to be seemed that money rules over the human civilization. It is disorder of human thought. So it is extreme necessity of mankind to make a second thought on the present mentality.
