I first heard of jejemons on the internet when i was playing an online game (Getamped PH), they were talking about jejemons, and calling each other jejemons. I was really curious on what the hell does that mean so i searched it on the net. Then it was already a craze on the net. Now, even news and and other TV shows like the buzz were discussing about Jejemons. I even saw the news that DepED is worried on the jejemon language that it may influence the children in using it. What do you think about jejemons?

I saw that news too. Haha.. Actually, I'm planning on creating a discussion about this, but you made it first so I'm just going to leave a response. I really found the news really funny. I've never thought that DepEd would notice this Jejemon fever. Jejemons are very annoying. They're like, eewwww, yuck!!! It's very Nakakabobo in the jejemons' part!

We badly need jejebuster.. I think that this language is very annoying considering the fact that there are kids that beginning to read and write. If this language will scatter so fast, then we will be having a major problem. I think that as early as now, we must stop this.

jejemons...i guess everybody knows the history behind the name, eh? well, at first i thought jejemon is cute. form of expression... but it got way out of hand to the point that it becomes so annoying that even older people do it. it seems cute when it's children or highschool students who do it. but to see this over the net all the time and seeing it in SMS, my gosh, it is a mania. i do not like it. for one, i think that students are already quite preoccupied with too much vices and media that studies become their 2nd priority. and being a jejemon isn't really a good compliment to this. give 'em a test on spelling, i'll bet my leg, a lot will fail. it is good that DepED is reacting towards this. it is in grade and highschool where one gets the foundation to everything. and jejemon really screws up the formal communication skills. i just hope that whoever jejemons are, they will not be too engrossed with this hype to the point of damaging their brain cells. i wouldn't want a son/daughter who is a jejemon. i hope that teachers and parents would help their children in becoming a little aware of the consequences of this mania. jejemon...it's time for you to stop..

I hate Jejemons, I have no idea what the hell is the point why would you try to longer words and insert numbers that looks like letters, and put letter H in every other syllable. It's illogical and weird. And all out JOLOGS if I must say. Hopefully, the DepEd really would do something about it in schools, cause talking jejemon really hampers your knowledge, specially on spelling.

I definitely agree with DEPED's fears. When the texting 'language' appeared, the spelling of the younger students started deteriorating. Jejemon language will be bad for the students' writing and english skills. Personally, I do not like getting texts that were expressed the 'jejemon way.' I think it's a waste of time to write a text in jejemon form and then for the reader to decipher it. Geez. These students should just study Morse codes or ancient writing if they want people guessing at their messages. It ain't cute at all.

I agree with you there, the texting has really degrade people from typing or saying the right word in the PC or they're Mobile Phone, that's the disadvantage of technology there, it makes the kid or student illetarate for simple writing complete words, what the student writes words that are actually same thing that the person doing in text messaging

Yah, i hate jejemon texts. Especially when you ask a number of a cute girl, then she replies "jejejeje" NOOOOOOO . LOL, its also the media that has been causing this craze too because of making articles and news about jejemons. Well i hope DepED can find a way on their fear of children doing jejemon language, they should study hieroglyphics . LOL

Yeah, if they studied hieroglyphics then that's better. At least they are learning about the language of the rich culture of Egypt. That ought to be useful somewhere down the line. Learning jejemon on the other hand has no benefit at all. Haha. I remember, I used to have a crush on this guy friend of mine. But ever since he used 'jejeje', I was like 'ewww'. It's a complete turn off for me when a guy uses that. I don't know why they think this is cute, else why would they do it?

My 13 year old niece is a jejemon. When I found out that she was one of those, I scolded her and told her to stop texting me that way. She just laughed and even told me that I'm old that's why I dont appreciate what's the trend in texting. I asked her to give me the correct spelling of english words and I found out that despite being a jejemon she still knows the right spelling and she is doing good in school so I just let her do that as long as she studies well.

oh, youre niece is a jejemon. Good to hear though that she can spell English words correctly. But thats not just the problem about jejemons, the fact is that they can influence others too. Its not just that your niece is smart and just use that jejemon text, but what about those kids who are influenced?

Jejemons are group of people on the internet that text in a different way. Instead of making the text spelling right and easy, they make it more difficult to understand. If you did understand the text once you received them, maybe you are one of them. I hope Deped will do their part of stopping this group from making the teenagers became lose in spelling. It should not be continue. They will get used to using this kind of spelling. They will totally forget the right spelling. What if they will have jobs in the future and they need to do reports, wrong spelling is never allowed there.

I don't like that jejemon language.. . I am teaching my daughter to make use of the correct spellings of the words when texting. The jejemon language will in a way affect the English language of some of the students.

Really it's very annoying and disgusting for these young people to be indulging in such language. Instead of honing their ability to talk in straight and understandable language to be globally capable of communicating with other people specially people of other nationalities, they spend their time in that useless language. Time will come when the Filipino will not be understood anymore by the other Filipinos themselves and the people from other lands.

Ofcourse its not good and put headache to me when I read my niece text message to me. I am having a hard time to understand her text, she text me like this: elow poH ttAh! mUztAh na fU keow! Haha! at times I laugh at it. My friend also text me with jejeje replacement to hehehe! This is alarming, people specially students might forget the right spelling of the words, they might write jejemons style even on their test paper. If I have a suitor who text me this way, ofcourse I wouldn't give my "yes" to him.

i'm against jejemons...it a form of language corruption. many children today are poor in language specially in spelling. how can you imagine young students who still haven't even mastered the filipino and english alphabet reading and writing with that jejemon style? no wonder many students don't get satisfying grades these days.

For me I hate the jejemons as well as the jejemon busters. They're making this petty issue a big one. There are better things to talk about besides this.

I think jejemons or the jejemon language itself is just a fad that will soon go away. I was also surprised that one time one of my colleagues answered my text with JEJE instead of "hehe". I never asked him about it anyway but thought to myself maybe he just pressed the wrong buttons? I think what worries me now is that kids who are still learning might catch this craze and use this as their form of constant communication. Parents must be strict about this and make sure that they learn the correct way in typing words or spelling. Just like text messaging, we must not be too lax and just get used to doing the shortcuts, or else we might forget how to spell correctly! :)

Good thing the online game I play only consist of American players. They're oblivious to this jejemon fever. It's just funny that DepED would even consider this as a threat. This is just a fad that would likely go down in the next few weeks or months. I have nieces and nephews and I don't see them being infected with this lame craze.

Well I think it is just a fad or something that we should not be worried at all. I think this is where the youth can relate to. There were many similar or parallel things that happen like the Jeprox of the 70s and Jologs of the 90's now there is a new breed coming in and they are the Jejemons. Well I am not afraid of them dominating since this will come to pass a decade or so in the future and a new breed will eventually come out.

I saw that in the buzz earlier. If I was gonna receive a text message like that, i'd be annoyed. Like what Toni Gonzaga said: "They want us to have a hard time reading a text message" or something like that.

It's just like the slang language of before and the txt message language. They're just forming a new type of fad - I don't think it will last though. It's quite tiring to type that way, it will just make you dizzy. As for learning it, I'm not tempted because usually these are people who have very low IQ anyways. They're making their IQs even lower with practicing it. It's true though that it should not be tolerated, it will diminish the dwindling education of the students of today.

hi I found that some definitions call them low life low IQ people ofte among the gangster who have no regard for proper spelling or grammar and have made up their own language which the article said was bad for children trying to learn English and the proper spelling and grammatical use. Another stupid language like text speak that the teachers in grade and high school will have to try to correct. The department[ of Education should damned well be concerned as kids are the most impressionable at that age. I just hope that nobody on mylot starts using jejemons in our discussions.

Well, I only learned about their title "jejemon" recently, but I have been annoyed with their lingo for a long time. It's really annoying. I would also be worried for these people because it's really wrong. It would affect the way they would write or type letters in the "real life" just as texting has affected the way people spell. But I don't think that making a big fuss about it is necessary. It just has to stop.
