A pleasant day to all, Is it really true that internet connection in the evening is better than in the morning? Somebody told me regarding this, since, during the morning a lot of interference blocks the connection, such as the wave of the moving vehicles along the streets and the signals which coming from mobile / handy phone users. For this reason, it somehow blocks the internet connection signal. Do you agree on this? Do you think internet connection is faster in the evening than in the morning?

I've heard about this before but I was told that when there are more people using the Internet, Internet connections are slower. Conversely, if there are less people using the Internet, Internet connections are faster. I don't know how true this is, but it could answer your question. More people are using the Internet in the morning than in the evening so that is why Internet connections are faster in the evening.

I think I have experence the same thing but I am not sure what causes it. I will log on to the net in the morning and it seems like it takes foever to load up. but latter on it will load up at normal speed such as in latter in day. It could have to do with other reasons.

if you want to have a fast connection in our place, you should surf at night...but there are times that it is faster when morning...well, it depends upon the connection we are using.

Well actually for me in the evening is a lot slower because that's when everyone gets home and on their computers whereas during the day most people are at work.

...i agree..in my own experience, using the net at night is much faster than using it during daytime, as what you said, there are more interference during daytime than at night..specially if you are using wireless connections...even the download and upload speed is far more different during night time...well i'm not sure if that is true to everyone but based on my personal experience, yes..

Hi there airasheila! Based on my experience, internet connection is much faster during off-peak hours. In my case, that would be around 1 AM to 6 AM. It is during this time, that I don't experience problems especially when it comes to downloading large files from some internet sites. My games are also not interrupted during these times. I don't know if this is true to all though...

Hi, I don;t think at night the internet connection will be better. It is basically depend on the main network provided by the telekom company.SOmetimes even at night, the network can be slow down and on day time, the network is super fast. Sometimes, I do encounter internet service breakdown out of sudden and then have to phone the Telekom company for complain ,and get it rectify.

Nope. I dont agree. Internet connection does vary according to the number of users using the same ISP or base station to which your internet connection is transmitted. It is hard to assume that more users are actively using the internet at daytime or nighttime.

Most of the time it is much faster not during the night, but during the Midnight(12:00 am), This is of course due to the lesser number of people using the network. If you are connected in the Internet using a local area network, you can easily detect this. The lesser people using the network the faster the connection is. Is it like a road traffic. The more vehicles using the road the slower the traffic is. Try driving, not at night but around 12:00am.

The connection is faster at night maybe because the people are already resting and that the offices are no longer open at that time. Or maybe its because that people are already in their gimmick nights and unwinding with their friends. Less use of internet at night makes net connection faster!:)

i think internet is fast early in the morning and late in the evening, at those times, people are probably asleep, so there's no internet traffic,,, hehehehehe

Most ISPs have times of the day when internet traffic is high and they tend to restrict bandwidth at those times. I don't think that moving (physical) traffic on the roads or mobile phones has ANY effect on the wired phone lines (which is where you probably get your Internet connection from). The information that comes over your phone line or cable is at a totally different frequency to the data from mobile phones and cannot be affected by cars or trucks. What can definitely affect it, however, is the number of other people logging on at the same time.

it depends on the website your on and the level of bandwidth that is being used on it more then the internet in general.

The reason that you gave is true for wireless Internet connection. In addition to that the previous responder had explained about bandwidth, which adds up to the slowness of a wireless connection. Moving vehicles do not provide a static obstacle that wireless waves can travel through nicely, or bounce well. All running electrical and electronic equipment produce their own radio frequencies. These in turn create a different form of interference to other radio/wireless waves.

Definitely faster at night. Probably not for the reasons you stated though. Facts: offices and schools use the Internet during morning and afternoon hours. Most don't limit traffic or turn off when not in use. Result equals large bandwidth use (even if most of it is only "keep alive" signals). This traffic also includes heavy video conferencing and VOIP calls that are bandwidth hogs. Evening brings a more normal browsing / chatting traffic that slowly improves as children and then adults go to bed. Night is fastest for those who can stay up long enough. Of course, this is only your localized area and there will still be traffic jams on long distance browsing. But generally, the Internet will "feel" faster at night.

I think that the internet for me runs better in the evening. The reason i think so is because my modem just sucks alot. So the only way it works is later at night.
