Frugal vacation you can suggest?

When the holiday comes, most people find it a great timing to spend vacation with the whole family. Vacation is expensive for some people. Just want to ask you, what frugal vacation can you suggest that is really enjoyable. For I find traveling to province of relatives is less expensive vacation but it was too shameful to stay with them while they are too busy to entertain us in their home because of work they have. How about you? What frugal vacations you can suggest may be it can help us choose.

I'd look for places that have package deals where you stay at a certain hotel/motel and it includes tickets to something. Alot of places here have off season deals here and that's another way to go. when we did go places it was usually for a weekend or a day trip but now we have pets and no money so... we don't go anywhere.

A vacation at the beach is pretty frugal since the beach is free and you can stay there all day and pack lunch and snacks to take with you. Another place to consider is Washington DC since almost all the museums and government buildings have free admission. Just try to book a hotel close to a metro station and offers free breakfast. Then eat fast food dollar menu items.

Las Vegas is always a great deal in December. They don't get a lot of people this time of year so hotel rooms are really cheap there. If you don't gamble you can do a lot in Las Vegas for no money. Each hotel and casino has a different theme and you could literally just spend days walking through each of the hotels to enjoy their individual themes. If you look around you can also find really good food bargains, it is not as easy as it used to be but the deals can still be found if you are willing to work at it.

You could check out something on Priceline.com or Expedia for a good deal on a flight+hotel package. I haven't actually taken any 'frugal' vacations (the last vacation I was on was very very very expensive - ugh). I suppose you could couch-surf. A couple of my old friends did that through Europe. A little too iffy and questionable if you ask me, but who knows. I don't see why you couldn't just stay at their house, I mean, I would imagine that maybe if you threw them some money and cleaned up after yourself it would be fine, plus wouldn't you be out sight-seeing anyway pretty much all day? Hmm.

Honestly, our family has decided that the best thing that we can do is to take vacations to places where our family or friends live. When we do things like that, we will get a hotel room in the cheapest place possible and not spend a lot of time in the hotel room except for to sleep. Other than that, the best idea for a cheaper vacation is to visit things that are near where you live that you wouldn't normally have the opportunity to visit.

HAHA, like you said mayrah, it would be shamefull to visit them while they are so busy dealing with how they'll make you comfortable when you visit them, i gess it's a pretty good thing to do in holidays is to visit relatives & loved ones, coz that will mean so much to them & they'll feel so much loved. Of course couple of good gifts will make it up on them the hardship they face when preparing the room for you, lol.
