Imagine you won a half price flight to anywhere in the world. Where would you go if that happened? What type of accommodation would you choose? It could be a five star hotel, a luxury apartment, a guest house or a youth hostel. The length of stay would be your choice up to one month. What sort of activities would you do? These could be things like looking at buildings, visiting museums, seeing art galleries, going for a swim at the beach or shopping for souvenirs.

If that is the case, I will fly to Fiji. This would be my best vacation ever. hahaha... I will just do some island hopping for 3 to 4 days and stay for one week at the Poseidon Undersea Resort. The first ever undersea resort. Your room is 30 to 40 feet under the sea. Your ceiling and half of the room is made of glass to maximize the view of the sea beneath. Imagine that you are in an aquarium but in a much larger scale. The whole resort under the sea is situated in a coral reef near an island which is also part of the resort's property. The resort has accommodations on the island as well. You have to book for one week. You will stay under the sea for 3 days and the rest of the week at their villas on an island. And during your stay there, their facilities are at your disposal. They even have a submersible where you can learn to pilot. This would be the perfect vacation for me. The reason why I chose this because this vacation comes with a hefty price. A week at the Poseidon Undersea Resort would cost you around USD20,000 per person. So if the accommodation is free, I can fulfill one of my dream vacation... :D

It is very interesting to hear about the Poseidon Undersea Resort in Fiji. Staying under the sea in their accommodation for three days would be breath taking. Then for the remainder of your time going to villa would be relaxing. Do you think you would have lots of fun in the submersible? It would be fantastic if it was free because can see what the normal price is there. So certainly it would be a once in a lifetime experience for you. I imagine some others on My Lot would want to join you. I am very keen on snorkeling around coral reefs. I went to Fiji when I was 20 years old and it was part of my trip around the world.

Yeah... It would be a great experience to drive/pilot a submersible... :D I kinda like to feel I am a captain or skipper or something of a nuclear submarine. I think many would join if it is for free... :D Let us arrange a travel plan for our fellow My lotters... :D

That would be so cool! If I won that, I will choose to go to St Marteen which is an island popular with planespotters. Besides that, the island is also beautiful and I will have to stay at the island's most expensive hotel. Another option would be to go to Dubai and stay at their six star hotel, get chauffeured around in Rolls-Royces, get a taste of their culture, that would be nice!

You would have the time of your life staying at St Marteen in the Caribbean Sea. Your choice of a five star hotel would be very luxurious for you. I think you would also be very impressed staying in Dubai.

Oh my God!if that would happen then I would choose my favorite continent EUROPE!I love Europe and I dreamed to travel there someday. If the price will just make me choose one country then it would be GREAT BRITAIN, I want to travel in the countryside of Britain so I would choose a villa in the countryside of Cornwall, Isle of Skye or Isle of Aran in Scotland or maybe Berkshire or Gloucestershire or Grasmere. I love Britain hope someday I could travel this amazing country.

It is wonderful that you know so much about the sights of Great Britain. Maybe your best idea would be to fly into London and then travel around by train plus bus. You could catch a night sleeper train from London to Cornwall. Then you could catch a train up to Gloucester. You might like to see the castle in Warwick and the spa town of Bath. You could take a train up to Scotland and see some islands like Sky and Arran.

When I came back from Kenya I flew over the pyramids. Wow! I think that you would have a fantastic time in Egypt with all its fascinating historical sites. My choice would be a flight to Madagascar where I would be able to see the lemurs. I would stay in guest houses in about five different places. One of these places would be a palm fringed beach. Have a wonderful day.

Australia is a fantastic destination however it is a large country so it would be best to spend longer than a month there. Although it is small I was very surprised with how much there is to see in New Zealand. So your trip could be a month in Europe or a a month exploring Oceania. You have got some excellent choices.

Yes, free would be ideal I think. It is lovely that you would choose to visit beautiful Scotland. I have been to wonderful Hawaii and had an exciting time. The waves on the North Shore were amazingly high. I was impressed to see the surfers. Waterfalls are very cool and refreshing to swim in.

I would head right out to Germany..to Garmish for sure as my daughter and her family are vacationing there over Christmas....and I would get a log cabin like they are staying in. Though I wouldn't enjoy the skiing like they do as my legs can't take it...I certainly would enjoy sitting in front of a fireplace drinking hot coca and enjoying my grandkids....and I love eating food from different countries! I would try to see as much of it as I can. I guess right now they have tons of Christmas fairs going on....I would aboslutely love that!

It is a lovely idea that you would choose Garmish in Germany. Staying in a log cabin would be very relaxing for you. It would be delightful for you to sit in front of a fireplace. I like hearing about daughter and grand children's ski vacation there. I haven't ever tried skiing. Christmas fairs in Central Europe are a delight. With fondness I remember one in Bremen, Germany.

Hi maxi, In that case I shall choose Hawaii. The islands Pacific ocean surrounded by blue water. The beautiful girls dressed with flowers will welcome me. This is wonderful. I shall stay in a cottage near the shore. Roam the beach all day long and see sun rising and sun sets in the ocean. Have you visited Hawaii?

Hi there Bhanusab, I think that Hawaii would be an excellent choice. Staying in a cottage by the shore would be ever so relaxing. Yes, I traveled to Hawaii when I was 20 years old. It was my second stop on my trip around the world. I stayed for a week on the North Shore then I had a look around the Honolulu area. It was sad but interesting to go to Pearl Harbor. Next on that trip I visited Fiji which is another superb destination worth visiting.

I would go to Argentina's Patagonias. I would do a home stay so I can feel homey and learn what normal people do there, nothing touristy. Then, I'd like to go see the penguins there.

We would pick Ireland. We would choose to stay in a Bed and Breakfast. The length of stay would be 2 weeks. We would walk to countryside, go to farmers markets, visit the castles and the local establishments and mingle with the people. I would love to bring back some of the wonderful sweaters they wear along with Irish lace, etc. Great topic.

I think that you would have a fantastic time in Ireland and you would like the warmth of the local people. They are very welcoming and there is lots to see there. So far in my lifetime the only place in Ireland I have been to is Dublin. I would like to see the Giant's Causeway. Sweater and Irish lace would be superb souvenirs.

Dear Friend, Everyone of my travels has a limit that is placed by my budget. And there are some places in the world I´d like to visit if money was no problem. I would choose some adyacent places instead of one destination, if that can be posible. Even if I had to return to the first place I visited to take the flight back, I´d start in Greece and go towards the Orient. I would visit Turkey, have at least a week´s stay at Istambul. I like good lodgings, but prefer places where I can cook my own meals if I want to. So my ideal lodgings would be a 4 or 5 star apart hotel. I like to do all those activities you mentioned, but usually souvenirs come my way as I don´t spend time seeking them. Sometimes the best souvenirs are found that way. And I would stay the whole month!!! My vacations are usually shorter because of money, not lack of will.

Hi my dear friend Marguicha, I think that a self catering apartment would be ideal for you and give you the freedom for you to cook your own food. I visited Istanbul whilst I was in Turkey. Wow! It is a stunning looking city and I know you would find enough to see and enjoy there in a week. Like me you adore traveling to more than one place so I think that Greece would be another superb place you would love. From Turkey perhaps you could go into Syria and Jordan. It is a shame your trips aren't as long as you would like due to your finances. Hug.

I have not lost the hope of getting there. Trips always have a limit. Sometimes it is time, others it is money and sometimes it is health. But we can try... I am very proud of myself for taking the trip to Lago Chungará when I went to Arica. None of my friends dared. I had a splitting headache for 4 days, in spite of chewing coca. But that lake at 4.800 meters, that volcano, were worth it!

Great Discussion, I have been wanting to go to Los Angeles for some time now and have been looking at planning a trip. If I won a half price flight and free accommodation I would go to Los Angeles and would stay in a luxury hotel somewhere near Staples Center so I could go and watch a few Lakers games while I was there and maybe take in a concert at Nokia Theatre. I would stay for a month so I could really take everything in. I would come back with thousands of photos and tons of great memories.

There is so very much to see in Los Angeles. I have been there three times and still haven't seen all of it yet. I liked seeing Venice Beach, Beverley Hills, Hollywood and Disneyland. It would be excellent for you to join the Laker games. I am happy to hear that you would take thousands of photos.

Wow!I love traveling and still I have a lot in my wish list. I will go and visit Istanbul, Petra and Beirut; or I would love to visit the Scandinavian countries, Sweden, Finland, Denmark and Norway. I would chose to stay in a guest house as long as the basic necessities are there. I don't need 5star hotels as I will use the accomodation just for sleeping as I will out daily. I would love to visit museums, take pictures of old buildings, visit the market and the tourist destination of the place. Beach is not my priority as beaches are the same anywhere in this globe. I would also visit local restaurants or cafes that serve the local food.

Similar to me you like to choose more than one destination. I can see that you are an independent traveler and prefer to stay in guest houses. That is the same as what I do when I go off traveling. One winter time I went to beautiful Istanbul. I traveled to Petra on my trip to Israel and Jordan in hot summer weather. On my inter rail trip I have been to Finland, Sweden, Norway and Denmark. Thanks for your excellent response.

I hope it will be a half price flight and free accommodation for two so I can bring my husband along with me. I will choose Maldives since it is expensive to stay in there. I will definitely choose a five star hotel, a girl can dream right? hehe. We both love swimming so we surely would go for a swim, island hop maybe and snorkeling.

I'd go some place I hadn't been where there was snorkeling. And in between snorkeling, I'd be seeing the sights, museums, tours, nature preserves, etc.

For me, it would be back to my hometown, half-way around the world. Where my mum and dad is. If accomodation to a fancy hotel is included, then I'd let them use it. I'll just stay in our house. It's just a couple of miles from the beach, so I wouldn't have to travel far to get to the sea. And I'd get myself stuffed with all the Buffet restaurants near my house too!

France is the most popular tourist destination in the world. I think that you would love seeing Paris and some of the beaches close to Nice. You could stay in two different five star hotels and the one by the coast would have a swimming pool.
