To be honest I don't like the fancy names given to children nowadays, all taken from popstars and actors and actresses, and some names are awful and I feel so sorry for the kids as they will get bullied at school. Personally I like the names Shane, Christopher, Jamie and Jason all fairly traditional names For a girl, Della, Jocelyn and Zoe

I always look out for your topics, but I never like to reply to people's discussion if I don't know anything about the topic in question. Some people will reply to anything even if they don't know squiddly dot about the subject! Glad you liked the names!!

I hear ya on that. Answering posts that have nothing to do with anything I know about isn't my thing either. It's just that I rarely have anything of importance to say that hasn't already been said by someone here, or I would post more topics. Mostly I just reply, lol.

I like Shane & Christopher, but we already have enough of those in this family, lol. However the girls' names you suggested are very pretty. Thanks for popping in, Wolfie. I know I don't give ya a whole lot to reply to, do I?

Bethany Ainsley for a girl and Joshua Raymond for a boy--are you infanticipating!?!
• United States

Bethany Ainsley is a beautiful name. I once knew and Ainsley, the one and only time I have heard that name until now. I like Joshua Raymond, too, but we already have too many Josh's in our family, lol. I am not "infanticipating" personally, but my cousin is having her second baby in January and I thought this thread would bring ideas. Thank you for asking, tho. You have been rated :)

Marshall The Great One Telling An Anecdote To Mamm - Have you seen this strange character anywhere before?

If you grew up in Franklin, Indiana, he might have been your history and/or geography teacher if you were in high school between the years of 1960 and 1980.

If you're a fellow Mammoth Cave fan, you might have been lucky enough to take one or more of his tours--or you might have even encountered him at Everglades, Lincoln's home in Springfield, OH, Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore, or Natchez National Memorial Park sometime between 1980 and 2001.

He's one-of-a-kind (and I mean that in a very positive way), so I doubt if you would forget him if you've ever met him!
Was the Ainsley you knew the granddaughter of our former sheriff? Her first and middle names are: Ainsley Shay She'd probably be in her early twenties now. Congratulations to your cousin! If the baby is a boy and born on January 24, the name, Douglas Marshall, would be fitting. Douglas for Doug Kershaw (the super-talented Cajun fiddler) and Marshall for another friend of mine. Both of them were born on January 24, 1936. I'm going to share a picture of Marshall at the bottom of the page from back when he was an interpretive ranger at Mammoth Cave National Park. He enjoys coming up to your James Dean Festival whenever he can as well.

Not the same girl, this girl should be pushing 30. Her name was Rebecca Ainsley, but everyone called here Ainsley. I believe she is from Southern Indiana, like Terre Haute or somewhere down there. Thanks for the congrats, I'll tell Steph (my cousin) about your suggestions. Her daughter's name is Cadence, so I don't know how well and everyday name will sit with her, lol (she's only 21), but you can bet I am trying. We didn't make it into town for the festival in September this year, too much going on--we had just moved. People do come from all over for James Dean Days & Ducktail Run, tho.

I will name my daughter Calista, it's greek for "the most beautiful". I am still confused what will I name my boy though. I believe parents should consider about the meaning of the name they choose, not only because it sounds good. One of famous singer in my country named her daughter Aurelia. It's latin for jellyfish lol.

I'll never tellll.... seriously, I won't tell anyone but my fiance b/c I don't want anyone to steal my names:) I'll let you know in 5-10 years after I have kids what I named them. I do like your names though. I forgot I have to pick a middle name too! All I know is that I already told my fiance there will be no common names - no "Michael Jr" no James, no Matthew, no John... I want something good, but not the one everyone else has.

hahaha. It's okay. Stephanie had her baby. It's a boy and she named him Carter James. Good news tho, I have another cousin whose wife is pregnant, so I'll still keep taking names, as long as people want to offer them. Peace & thanks for stopping in anyway.

There are jsut so many gorgeous names to choose from- where to start?! My eight month old son is Kai Douglas, Kai means "ocean" in Hawaiian and "food" in Maori, and Douglas means "from the dark water" in Gaelic(I think, dont quote me on that one lol). Names I like for a boy include: Kade, Kaelen, Hunter, Harley, Christian, Dean, Dylan, Austin, Jet, Jai and Jay. Oh and Jackson, and Logan, and Noah lol. Names I like for a girl are: Kiara, Tahlia, Shae, Chloe, and Charlotte (Charlie).

Wow, I don't know where to begin on those either, lol. Thank you for including the name meanings, that is helpful as my pregnant cousin is really into that sort of thing. I'm pretty sure Logan is already on her list of choices, but I think she has it picked for a girl, lol. I'll pass them along to her. Thank you very much for your input.

For a guy I like Cade and for a girl I like Rhiannon, but I would call her Annon, though my significant other doesn't like the female name all that much and I'm willing to bet that she gets her way....

I'm willing to be you're right, lol. Cade is a cute name tho, one a boy can grow into and still have a masculine name. I'm with her on the Rhiannon thing tho, no offense meant. I do like the song tho...
