This morning after getting most of the house cleaned up I started cleaning my cupboards. I threw a bunch of expired things in the garbage, pitched some very old cookbooks that were worn just to a frazzle...and now I am waiting for the paint to dry as I painted the inside and will put new lining in after it dries...do you have a big project you are working on? Have you started spring cleaning?

hahaha... hahaah... hahaha... LOL, "I am a 21years old young boy, I have no need to do those all things, home works. I can sleep like a king." Earlier i thought like that but the situation are changing. My mother went to my sister's home, because recently my sister delivered. Very cute child(male). I am happy. And Daily i have to do all the house clean, my clothes washing and so many extra works. In the starting it was felt new, i am adjusting.

The big projects I'm working on are all financial. We got our taxes back yesterday. We're searching for a decent van in our price range. In the meantime I've been paying on some bills. It's so depressing how quickly the money goes. We didn't even get to do all of what we'd planned to do.. but our money is basically gone already. After we buy the van and put it on the road we'll be broke! We wanted to get our cellphones turned back on, and I don't know if that is going to happen now. I also wanted to pay off one of my larger debts, they offered a settlement for like half of what I owe (and I owe over $2,000). We're still getting our state refund on Tuesday, so hopefully we can accomplish those things with the state refund.. but there is a part of me that is worried that a different creditor will keep the state refund (we owe the state hospital some money and they've kept our state refund in the past to pay off the debt). Now, all in all I wouldn't mind that because it's one of my major debts that will be paid, and it will help my credit.. which is my goal, but I would be slightly depressed that I can't take advantage of this offer to pay half of another debt.. and to pay off our cellphone bills and get those turned back on (we planned to pay a huge chunk towards the future bills so we'd have to pay less each month). As I said, it's just depressing that the money isn't stretching as far as we wanted it to, and hubby really wanted to be able to spend some of our money on fun stuff like eating out and buying some video games.

We use our phones a lot so that would end up costing us huge! Last year we went with a Sprint plan that we really liked, we just couldn't afford the monthly payments. That's why this year we want to pay a large chunck towards our future bill.. like we want to give them $1000. I think after taxes and all our monthly bill was about $160.. so that breaks down to about $1,920 a year.. so if we pay $1000 up front we'd still need to pay like $80 a month.. or pay our full bill for the last 6 months.. either way I think this would be beneficial, and hubby would like to set it up so that we do not have a bill in November and December due to Christmas. Anyways, I'm slightly less depressed now. We found a van yesterday for just under what I was willing to pay. Actually, we'd looked at 2 vans on Thursday, both were $3,800.. I really only wanted to spend $3000. So yesterday we found a nice van for $2500 and the current owner has been perfect about maintanence.. she gets oil changes every 3000 miles and tires rotated every 5000 miles. Hubby and I each test drove it.. we both feel good about it. When I was figuring how much money we had left I'd been using $3,800 for our car.. because that's what I thought we'd go with. So now we have an extra $1,300 I wasn't figuring into the finances. I'm a little less depressed now.

I haven't started spring cleaning yet, but I have been looking around thinking: i will have to take down down those valances sometime soon....and cleaning the rest of the house as well. The walls need a good scrubbing. We have a forced air wood furnace and they are quite dusty.....always dust everywhere. UGH!

Hiya Jill, Yes I have and they really needed cleaning ie: the top Cupboards in the Kitchen. With my Shoulder being out of sorts I have not done as much as I usually do. But I have started out all over again and it does not take long to catch up with little Jobs like that. I am always cleaning everywhere but I think because you clean in the Kitchen every Day things that are right under your Nose can escape your Eye. So I do get round to those nittty gritty little Jobs that seem to wait so long to be cleaned.

Hiya Jill, My other big Job is to do all the Windows I know that no one will offer so I am doing them one lot at a time. Because although I clean the Windows I also clean the paintwork and the windowsill outside and in as well and the Shutters that go with it. This week has been very distracting for me so they have got me off the rails a few times but I am back on track today.

What a big job you have started. I hate cleaning out cupboards, but it reminds me that I need to do the same..yuk ! My big Saturday project is my craft room. I walk into it and get lost. It is a mess and unorganized. I, currently cannot even walk into the door so I have not got very far today lol. I am just filled with frustration right now, and this is why I am sitting here on mylot, and look at what discussion I find lol. Good luck with your project..and oh, no I have not started spring cleaning but it's getting about that time !

I think that spring cleaning is an excellent idea. Every cupboard could be cleaned out so that it is fresh. You were sensible to throw out the expired food and tatty looking cook books. Good luck with anymore clutter clearing that you are going to do. I have just come home from my trip to Colombia. I am planning to paint some of the walls in my bungalow. The kitchen will be light green and the hall will be light pink. In my bedroom I am going to put up some shelfs. It is winter at the moment and so I have to work indoors. When it is late spring here I am going to do some landscaping in my garden.

Hey jill! I still haven't finished my "spring cleaning" from two years ago! I haven't finished finding places for everything and now I have to start all over again cleaning out stuff, throwing away more things and maybe I'll get my pictures put back on the walls that I never did re-hang after my apartment painting! By the time I get it done it will be time to paint the apartment again! I just don't seem to get anywhere! I am going to try to get started on some work again now and see if I might actually have some of it done by Spring so I can really do my Spring cleaning!

The whole house needs cleaning and I need to reorganize everything. My cupboards have not been emptied in ages and I am sure that I have a lot of food that I will not be eating. My husband is diabetic and we have a lot of food that is full of sugar. I think I will start on that later on this week and then call the church to find out if they can use the food. I also want to paint the bathrooms, the kitchen and the living room. I know I will have to wait on the kitchen and living room. It is nowhere near Spring here in Idaho, but I know these things need to get done. I am doing a little at a time so it does not seem to be overwhelming. I think the best thing to do is start in the kitchen and work my way around. My craft room will be last because I know if I do it first then I will not want to do anything else.

You too! I actually read about the origins of spring house cleaning. I don't know what makes these people "experts" on this subject but what they say makes sense. Turns out back when black soot ruled the land because of their wood, coal and oil fed heat sources they would start this process right after they shut down the furnace. Then they would clean everything of the soot and smell in the house. My mother continued this process until she was physically unable to. Why I don't know, we lived in a suburb of Minneapolis. So anyway my motivation to spring clean is the way I cook. The spice cupboard is always a gold mine of forgotten crap. My house, because it was built in '46 has a flour drawer an root veg. drawer and a pantry. These are also good places to find forgotten stuff. Then there is under all the appliances and making sure there is good air flow for the refrigerator. But I do all this before all the snow goes away. The furnace is still running. My husband fixes everything that needs to be fixed and updates anything needing updating. We even painted the walls upstairs now that the boys are gone. Then we spend the summer looking for the most relaxing things to do.

I's love to, but still under ice and snow, spring cleaning really isn't on my mind, well it is, but I don't want to, not in this cold..lol When I do start, I usually start small, by cleaning the bathroom thoroughly, then I go into the kitchen. But I need to wait for a break in the weather before I do.

Yes, want my sons to paint the house doors and windows and paint the patio furniture. Some of it is white wood chairs and a lounger too. Plus a few rooms need painting again so I will be asking for help from these three 6 foot plus sons. My son in the U.K.comes to the Island tonight so for a few weeks I will have them all in the same country. It will be a blast

Tonight I will start cleaning house and by the end of the week I will have the house cleaned. Saturday I will start painting the bathroom and will finish painting it by Sunday. Then next weekend I will paint the second bathroom then I will start on the kitchen. The kitchen will take the longest because I want to go through pots and pans. The pots and pans that are too old I will get rid of. I also want to try to decide on what color to paint the kitchen and then fix the two cabinets that need to be fixed. What is making it hard to paint is that I need to use primer because the wallpaper is so old and taking it off could do more damage. What color did you paint your kitchen?
