You look like...

"Dang, do you have a twin? You look like..." "Have we met before?" "I can't quite put a finger on it, but.." Memory is a funny thing. You see somebody and you're sure you know them, but you can't remember where from. Or you see somebody and they look so much like somebody you knew, but you can't remember who. Or somebody comes up and remembers you, but you have no clue who they are. One time I went to a party, and I was expecting to meet a former boss of mine. I hadn't seen him in quite a few years. There was a man at the party who looked so much like him that I almost went up and started talking to him. But something wasn't quite right. Then the real former boss showed up. Weird. You wonder how people who are testifying in court about somebody they only saw for a few seconds can actually remember correctly. I'm waiting for the day when I get mistaken for somebody famous.

My memory, recollection, recall, etc. are so bad, you'll never have to worry about that with me. I won't remember your name or your face, let alone the famous person you resemble. I don't even pretend anymore to remember somebody. I just say, "Sorry, you are? And I know you from where?"

Well at least you aren't one of those people who pretend to know when they really don't.

It's the other way round for me. My many people have mentioned to me that I have this very "familiar" look. Like someone had said that I looked like the ex of someone , and then another person said I used to live in this particular neighborhood which I've never before. It's stranger than strange to be in different places which I've not ..and yet these people claim they have known or seen me somewhere which I've no recollections whatsoever. I'm not famous or popular but I have a very common face , haha!! At least with the question of "Have we met before" is better than someone coming up to you confidently and asking whether you have lived at this area before and have you worked at this particular venue before and etc. I've many look-alike in this world maybe.

I've been seeing a lot of that at work lately. One of the high school girls I work with was just in the high school production of "Seussical". She was one of the lead roles. So now customers come in and see her and swear they've seen her before but can't put a finger on it. Eventually some of them realize where and "Oh.. you were in the play, oh you did a fantastic job".. yeah, she's gotten a bit of an ego from the attention.

Not at all that bad, but I don't think this particular girl needs a bigger ego! She can be a bit bossy at times.

I have difficulties to remember faces and I often politely answer to people saying me good morning, when I do not know or remember who they are. I had to testify in court for a friend who was suing somebody for a libel. There was a quote of me in the libel, and I did not remembered to have met the author. He said that "he knew me very well" and proved that we met... twenty years before... in another city... and that we had spoke, let's say five minutes... I just replied that I would never say that "I know somebody very well" after meeting him 5 mn every twenty years, and the judges thought like me. They were probably also absent minded.

If your former boss is a serious person it is better to keep away to him. else where you can talk with him freely.

I can remember people's faces from grade school. I can't remember a name for love nor money. I don't how people can accurately remember things either. And it takes forever to get to court anyway! I don't know how that works but the word 'coercion' comes to mind. Oh ya! Very little mind work and some $'s changing hands.

I used to remember things. I was in my 20's, working in a stationery store, when some friends of my mom's that I hadn't seen since I was maybe 10 came in. I remembered them better than they remembered me.

well i havent been mistaken for someone famous since i got old. but in my early twenties,i was mistaken for Sandra Dee several times, then when i was in my 40's once someone said i looked like Shannon Dority or whoever that gal was last name that played on 90210. when i was in KY, once in my 30's a couple of people thought i was my half sister, by my dad, which i never got to meet, sadly. and yes, i really have seen people i thought was someone else. my class mates used to think my mom was Liz taylor when i was little.

I would like to be mistaken for somebody famous! I just don't know who. And I can't think of anybody who would remotely look like me. Maybe I should just go to parties and pretend to be somebody's former boss!

Its a girl in my city that looks just like me. I have never seen her but over the years different random people have walked up to me and called me Toya ummm my name is Dana even her father approached me and when get go all the way up on me he said oh you look just like my daughter Toya. Thats weird they say we are the same height body shape and we resemble. I'm really good with remembering faces so if someones come up to me I might remember them but not their name. Most people forget who I am or don't recognize me because I switch my hair so much. People are getting wrongly accused for crimes lol

I think as far as the testifying thing...it can be very iffy. I have has all those things happen to me. I have worked at the same place for 12 years and there have been a lot of people come and go. Everyone that I can't remember to save my life, I just figure that is where it was from.

I remember someone saying once that every person in the world has a look alike. My mother's best friend has sworn several times that she will see me at the mall in another city when I'm sitting at home or doing something with my children, so I think the woman that she has seen at the mall has to be my twin. Then there was a person on mylot that thought I might have been her daughter-in-law until I started talking about my children and their ages and the information didn't match up.

I believe I have a very photographic memory. One that can remember up to the last shred of hair. However, at a time of stress/being victimized I don't know that my better judgment would kick in. So I would dread having to teatify whole heartedly and wonder if perhaps my better judgment would be truthful. So I would not want to be in such a predicament. As for a twin, please no don't think I would want another me roaming the earth, lol (By the way bharsharma, emailed me and said to send a hello and that he was sorry but way too busy these days offline and unable to log on, says to say misses you)
