I do have a few gifts for people upstairs on the top of the wardrobe for people, last week I brought some christmas chocolates half price and I put them on top of the wardrobe. Today I went to the supermarket and brought two tins of biscuits ready for christmas these too have gone on top of the wardrobe. Next week I plan to buy some food for the freezer, and no they won't be going on top of the wardrobe but at the back of the freezer so people can't see them.

Sorry you can't buy things to keep for christmas, a few years ago it would have all got eaten but now if I get it in the house without the children seeing it then I have more chance and espically as I'm not eating all that sort of stuff now is a big help

I haven't started even thinking of Christmas. I doubt we will have much money to do anything. My grandson is not being good and I don't think he deserves much so I will have to wait and see what I come up with for him. I enjoy the season for other reasons that gift giving. We get in the car and go look at Christams lights around town. Free family oriented things.

We also have christmas lights which get turned on,we like to go and look at them and walk down the town to see them. We have stores with good christmas displays which are free to look around. At the end of the day it is what you make it not the cost of things or the money that you spend

You are way ahead of me. I haven't bought anyhting yet, although I have been thinking about my daughter's christmas presnt. For one of her main presents, I would like to buy her bathers. She is a swimming instrucot, and needs very good quality, chlorine resistant bathers. They are expensive, and I am waiting f or the sales to come out. I really haven't thought about presents for anyone else yet. My parnets are difficult, especially my father. Now that we have a big christmas lunch at my brothers place, I am expected to buy presnts for my sister in laws family, some of whom have no interest in me and I'm not interested in them!

Christmas can be hard when you have to buy for people when you don't really wish to buy but feel you have to. I also have people like that in our family. Our children have chosen what they would like which does make things easier as they get older, but they also want more spent on them which is a down side

I haven't bought anything for Christmas yet. It is still to early to prepare for the Christmas for me. I am afraid I will buy something which I will feel regretful after some time. After all, there will be more than two months to December. So I will take my time and I will not prepare for it so early. I love China

Hope you go back and read page 1 I think it is as I felt a fellow friend a good idea about giving homemade gift cards in return to doing some jobs for people instead of giving money gifts etc, babysitting gift cards, mowing the lawn cards etc. Hope this gives you some ideas.

I have a few small things, but I'm definitely not really getting ready yet. I have made a couple of gifts, and have many more to make. So far this year I am making people those cloth snack bags. They're quick to make, although they do have a lot of steps, and I think they're useful.

I really like to make things, mind you I'm not that good at actually making things but do like ot try. Any chance of giving us some details on how you are making your cloth snack bags so we could all have a go at making one? Thanks my friend

I haven't bought anything, but I have made 34 gifts so far...I sew and I made aprons for all my grand kids...they love helping in the kitchen so I made them each an apron...ruffles and frills and fun colors! I have been putting together baking ideas in my head...just can't think much about baking in the heat of the summer/fall! But I also have a t-shirt quilt that I made for one GD that is finished (twin bed size) and have started on the other one for the other GD, just need a few more t-shirts. But other than that... I am not really looking forward to decorating for the holiday this year...just not into if if no kids around to enjoy it with! I don't want to do all that work myself and then have no one to share it with and then have to take it all back down and pack away..myself. I do plan on watching the sales for baking goods tho...get'um while they are cheap!

hi I am one of those who love to wait til December then shop madly but now as I a m physically handica pped think I will give gift cards for Christmas as everyone appreciates then I can buy on line if necessary too. Heavens lets have Halloween and thanksgiving first. lol this year money is so tight I am not sure what I will buy has to be inexpensive.

Gift cards are a very good idea then that person can have the enjoyment of choosing what they want. Sometimes it is hard to buy for people espically as there is so much more of offer these days and its hard to know what people have actually got.

Well i havent bought any food because i would be afraid it would go bad. If i was buying food for a party i was having in a couple weeks that would be different but im not and thats hard. I dont believe buying food in advance like this is a good idea and then give them out as presents. I have bought presents and am almsot done with a couple people so that helps me out alot. Im almost done with my dad and my boyfriend. I will be ordering something offline for my boyfriend next month and then i will only need three more items after that for him then im done. I still have his family to do but not that much so everything wont be rushed and ill be done in time before the crazies get out to go shopping too.

A friend gave us some christmas gifts all wrapped up for us on 30th Sept!! Only problem is we shall still be seeing them before christmas even though they live away from us. Didn't understand why she gave them to us so very early!!!

I bought a few things for Christmas, but not gifts! More like decorations! After the holiday season, I always go to the stores and see what they've put on sale. I find it less stressful, and a lot cheaper if they just sat on the garage for a year, and be used the following Christmas.

Not yet. I'm still saving up for that occasion. But, I do have the plans on what things to give to people. Although, yeah, it can't be denied that prices are cheaper now than when Xmas is nearer. So, it's a good thing for you shopping this early.

We saw an activity centre we wanted for our daughter, and the price was so good we had to get it now and stash it away. Her eyes will be huge when she sees that big box is for her!

That is good, everyone does things differently and I do change around what I do. Years ago I used to be done and dusted by end of Sept with the gifts, but with having children I got later and later and I'm now just beginning ot change back

We haven't bought anything yet but we will maybe during November. Right now though, I am trying to save my money up for the Christmas gift. All I have right now is my Christmas list before I forget and won't be til the last minute to figure who am I going to give. I do not even see Christmas stuff out yet at the stores so even if we did wanted to buy stuff right now, we would be taking forever.

Oh no not yet. And you just made me panic a little bit. I haven't bought anything yet. I'm planning to make some gifts though for my friends. I would like to make some clutch bags. But I am not so sure yet because I still haven't bought my sewing machine too. I'm looking for something new to be given to my family and friends. Maybe I can get some ideas here as well.

I haven't bought anything for Christmas yet, however I have started to think about picking up a couple of things because I get a rather large pay cheque this month and it would be nice if I were able to get the things that I need well in advance so that I don't have to worry about it nearer to the time. My Mother has told me what she would like, so I am going to go shopping at some point in the next week to get those things. I will also get cards and wrapping paper as soon as they become available in the shops so that I don't have to think about it again.

I had already bought my niece a hello kitty purse (she is 6 years old and loves Hello Kitty). I had wanted to start shopping sooner, but since my husband has lost his job and we are moving I do not want to pack a lot of things. As for food items I will not make that until it gets closer. I am hoping to start on my niece and nephew's Christmas countdown plate so I can give that to them on December 1st.

The gifts are about all bought, with a few exceptions. There are going to be a lot of times where I tend to try and wrap up the actual gift portion of my Christmas shopping by around the time of Halloween. It tends to be a load off of my mind as there are times where I am busy with other things around that time of the year to get much of any shopping done. Everything else, yeah we're going to have to really wait a little bit to get that all done. However, when you really think about it, there are certain things that I do get that I would wait a little bit on. Some holiday deals and all of that stuff. The gift shopping however is pretty much in the bag to say the very least, with a few exceptions as I said.
