Some birds are really quite intelligent. Since I've taken up photography as a hobby, I have paid a lot more attention to my surroundings and have really gotten a laugh out of watching a flock of crows that has been hanging around here. Once I saw a crow pick up a discarded bag that had some chips left in it. That crow knew what he was doing as he turned it upside down and shook it to make the chips fall out so he could eat them. Another crow was having fun stealing tomatoes out of a field, even though he could barely get them in his beak! Have you ever seen a bird do something funny? Please tell us about it.

Yes. this bird kept flying into my door like it was trying to fly into the house. It kept doing it and one day, it knocked itself out.

Crows are funny birds aren't they! My parents had a funny situation with a crow. They were in the habit of giving their elderly cat a bone to chew and lick. One day, not all that long after they had given him a fresh bone, they saw it was missing. They searched very where. The cat was too old to be carrying it far. They had a seen a crow nearby. The next day they saw the bone... on the neighbours roof... the crow had pinched it and carried this large bone in his mouth and deposited it on the neighbours roof. Another funny bird thing I saw, was a pelican. He had caught a fish and was trying to swallow it whole. But the fish was way too big. The pelican shook his head, and carried on and threw the fish around in vain. Finally he was able to get the whole fish down. I really wish I had a camera that day, as it was so funny to watch.

I used to live in tustin Ca and would go for walks. I watched three black birds toss nuts down onto the street, then wait until the traffic had run over the nuts, and down they would swoop, pick through the shelled nuts and eat the meats flying up each time a car came past., they were getting the nuts shelled for them by letting the traffic run over the nuts. smart birds indeed and they never ever got hit as they watched for traffic as they ate. lol lol I still live in California but in Garden Grove now.the birds here do not seem to be very smart. b ut then I haven't been out much this past year as pushing this damned walker is not my idea of exercise. I feel isolated hedre in this tiresome retirement center.I need to figure out a way for me to go on short trips.

I haven't observed wild birds too much but I loved to watch the poultry in my grandparents' hennery. The funniest thing I saw there was the male duck who wasn't satisfied by his ducks and he used to chase for the hens. Of course the rooster wasn't too glad to see that and he was chasing the male duck, too. It was such a funny spectacle to see!

For about 3 years there was a red cardinal that always came to my kitchen window and stood on the top of the air conditioner there and pecked at my window. I would talk to him from across the room and say "pretty bird!" and he would just people watch.. if I went near the window he would fly away... suddenly that bird never came around again.. I don't know if he forgot or if something happened to him... but the funniest thing he would do was just stand there and people watch. It was kind of like a bird watching TV or something... that is what it reminded me of.

Birds can really be funny comedians sometimes, they just make your days brighter. I use to have a pet Budgie, he was simply adorable and intelligent too. I always put a little hanging mirror in his cage and he would always check himself out. Now, he was really obsessed with his looks that every time I try to take out the mirror to clean it because he smears all his saliva all over it he would leap over and attack me straight away. When I pull back he would stand next to mirror and guard it like it was the last thing he had on earth. he would do a quirky dance as well when I jiggle the mirror to distort how image. he was such a character.

I think your budgie thought that the mirror was another REAL bird. That's why he was so upset when you took the mirror out. He thought that other bird was his mate.

We had a bird outside that used to dive-bomb our one cat all the time. It would never actually hit the cat, but it was funny to see the cats reaction to it. Sometimes the bird would walk on the ground and creep up to the cat, and as the cat came closer, it would take off up into the air and fly just out of reach. Then it would land a ways away and do it all over again. I don't remember what kind of bird it was, but I found it strange that it was kind of playing with the cat. It was almost like it found humor in it or something. Even if it didn't find humor in it, we sure did!

I love birds and adore seeing them in the wild. I stayed at a youth hostel in the bush in New South Wales in Australia. I was sitting at the table eating breakfast. Two little boys were eating toast. They left the table for one moment and a cockatoo came down and ate a piece of the toast. It was so funny when their parents came out and couldn't believe what had just happened. Cockatoos are white parrots. Years later on my second trip to Australia I was in Western Australia. I saw some galahs playing at a children's play park. It was a dull day so there weren't any children around. They flew to the top of the slide and slid down then flew back up to the top again. It was a lovely activity to watch and enjoy. They are well known to be funny birds. They are pink and gray.

not actually funny but makes me curious about a specie of bird near my work place, they are quite territorial and the often fly as if to attack someone passing by near where they congregate..it seems funny as you see them like a small airplane having a dogfight ..but lately i seldom see them where were use to be, i just learned that a guy annoyed by these bird happened to hurt one of them when the bird tried to defend their claimed territory

Hmm I don't know if i'd call this funny but it was really a new thing I saw. Once when I was in school, a pigeon got in one class. But when it tried to fly out, it kept bumping in the glass window. I think pigeons don't know what glass are so it just kept trying to get out of the glass window but kept bumping on the glass again and again. I was scared

I'm not a big fan of bird though, but my dad has a story about his pet. Well, In his village, my dad just brought a bird and one day the bird was sick. She was dying when my dad gave her fresh milk. The next day, the bird went perfectly healthy again, becoz of this she started to show some loyalty. The interesting part is how she repay my dad in return. So she watch over on my dad's precious item, and strike furiously if there any suspicious person come nearby. When she's on free time or bored, she just flew over, grab a peanut, lying on table, and raise the peanut up and down like exercising with dumbbell. I laughed off when i hear that part. Eventhough i don't saw the bird myself, it's still amusing for me to imagine a bird doing that stuff. =D
